I think there was something similar in MTG, where the limit was originally 60, but I thought someone told me that they changed it so that, there wouldn’t be a deck limit, so long as A) you still followed the rules of banned cards and card limits/restrictions and B) that you would still be able to shuffle said deck on your own, unassisted.

Wanna know the funniest thing about the beeg deck? In Yu-gi-oh! There's a card called "That grass looks greener" which discards cards from your deck untill both players have decks of the same size. So imagine what would've happened if this hadn't happened lmao. That sand in the anime is literally scorpions. She is being 'drowned' in poisonous insects also implied to be eating her alive, if I remember right. This moment in the duel on the building is also a commonly manipulated moment for times like this where somehow everyone seems to not mention that Umbra, the guy falling to his death, actually activates a parachute and is shown landing on some kind of metal beam but not moving. Like, that's a double bit of strange but hardly ANY person talking about the shadow realm/death brings it up and just tells you 'they fell to their death' CUT. Maybe he died since there was no way out but it's never confirmed in the anime, he's just never seen again like all the Rare Hunters.
For that rare hunter one, Marik was not going to let this useless subordinate who failed to defeat the pharaoh off so he killed him using the millennium rod.
The whole thing with no one knowing how to play Yu-Gi-Oh got me in my feels. The idea of purgatory not only fit with western pop fiction but also pre established views of the afterlife in Christian-judeo religions. That there is a belief of purgatory period for souls who do not embrace god or something similar, and the chance for redemption. We also got the passages of the Divine Comedy by Dante in the 15th century. You could also argue this is yugioh! Equivalent to the Twilight zone where there is a chance to redeem yourself and survive in some episodes but others exposed a dark truth or twisted reality in which they also never were allowed to say hell much due to tv censor standards for the time etc. Religious groups couldn’t really cancel yugioh on its shadow realm premise considering several generations of American children were probably instilled this idea of fear of the purgatory by caretakers or churches. ( very specific example: legit is how one of my friends grew up with her nana from mom’s side.) And they couldn’t say Hell to children as it counts as a swear word ( Rocco’s modern life already gave us a clue on censorship a bit even as kids).
