  • Welcome to my "Don't Let Me Down Electric" Guitar Lesson + Tutorial, by The Beatles. This lesson focuses on George Harrison's electric lead guitar parts, but also combines them with some of Billy Preston's keyboard playing, to give you a full-sounding part that works well in a band context. Learn the iconic double-stop riff, the beautiful major 7 chord verse leads and more!

"Don't Let Me Down Electric" TABLE OF CONTENTS
    0:00 - INTRO
    2:59 - MAIN RIFF
    6:31 - SIMPLE VERSION
    6:56 - ADDING CHORD SHOTS
    10:35 - VERSE LICK 1/2
    14:54 - VERSE LICK 2/2
    16:54 - THE BRIDGE
    20:11 - FINAL PLAY-ALONG
    24:32 - RESOURCES
The lesson begins with the main riff, one of the most iconic and famous riffs using the double stop technique! We go over the technique itself, and then we practice the lick step by step, making sure to work on the counting and the rhythm and doing all those little things that will make it sound good.
The chorus is basically made up of two chords: E and F sharp minor. For the E chord, we play the riff, and for the F sharp minor chord we play some chord shots. On the recording that's all he does, but I have taken the liberty to add some of Billy Preston's keyboard-work to these shots to fill them out a bit - totally optional!
The verse lick can be broken down into two parts. Once again, we're using double stops, sliding around the pentatonic scale. We work through it all step by step and we end up landing on a triad and a major seventh chord. There's so much good stuff in this recording and I wanted to take the time to break it all down and work through it.
The bridge which is the easiest part of the song. It's a simple melody that copies the bassline. Really cool and bouncy! (Probably something Paul came up with). Once we've learned all three parts, we put them all together in a final play along...
If you'd like to practice the entire song with me, there's a full playthrough available on my Patreon page, where I play through the entire song, start to finish. More information on that here: / 65590785
