Fun Fact: Brian Blessed (Boss Nass' voice actor) said that he wasn't given any scripted lines for the part where Nass decides to help the Naboo. He improvised all of that dialogue on his own! George Lucas was so happy with it that he used it in the film as is.
The look on Obi Wan's face when Padme reveals herself as the queen has always stuck in my mind. Even after all these years. There are two other times that Obi Wan's reaction to Padme that have been imprinted in my memory. The 2nd one is when he checks on Padme after Anakin force chokes her on Mustafar and the way he is with her when she gives birth to Luke and Leia.
Imagine their conversation after their marriage about this: Anakin: Remember when you lied to me and didn't tell me you were the real Queen. Padmé: Yeah. But you were just a child. Anakin: Still! You could have told Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon that you were the Queen! Padmé: It was Sabé's idea! Anakin: Sabé! Sabé: Hey, don't look at me! I was following her commands! Anakin: I need to go home and rethink my lifestyle...

I saw a video analysis on why Luke is not a Mary sue but Rey is in UA-cam. It brought up some great points like Luke saying he used to bulseye wombats and references to him having piloting skill. Then he doesn't use a lightssber or force powers to defeat enemies in this movie. He just used an X-Wing and its torpedoes with some feeling in the force. Mostly using skills he had previous knowledge of and not using Jedi skills until the next movie after training

We need to give big props to Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightley. They each played the role of “queen Amidala” to perfection. For so long, I never noticed that they were two separate people. I just assumed the makeup was different for some scenes and that’s why she looked different from how she did in her jntitial appearance in the beginning of the movie. They did a great job and George Lucas did a great job in directing them. Say what you will about George Lucas and his stilted dialogue but he damn sure knows how to write a strong female character.
Watching it knowing she’s acting like a handmaiden is so funny because she keeps telling Qui-Gon how the queen wouldn’t like him doing something on tattooine and he just dismisses her saying “Yeah she would”

I love this movie, and I think the twist with Amidala and Sabe was brilliant, I did cop earlier, as I knew that Natalie Portman was the queen it made no sense she was the handmaiden also, but I couldn't figure it. they definitely dubbed both actresses with the same voice to fool the viewer. but the CGI is terrible in this movie, it is very bad esp, the Boss Nass, I understand it was 1999, but it is not standing up to the test of time; Puppetry would have been better for at least Boss Nass as he only really had still moments, not a lot of movement and make the army of Gungans CGI. or at least improve his CGI like they did with YODA.
I was going to suggest a live action remake of TCW, but then I remembered how they made Cad Bane look like and immediately changed my mind. I don't want them butchering anymore characters like that

This was my favorite scene from the first movie. No more deception, no more arguing. They had a common enemy and had to fight together.
