Dr. Thomas R. Resch, board-certified general surgeon, was honored with a 2023 Health Care Heroes Physician Award from the Wichita Business Journal.
“I am Thomas Resch, MD, and I work for Wichita Surgical Specialists. My patient care philosophy is to find out what the patient's goals are. I think that's probably the most important thing. Seeing and helping patients get through these completely life-altering injuries and medical problems is very rewarding, and it's nice to be able to try to make a difference with what we can do. And figuring out how do we get them where they want to be.
I think we have a great medical community here in Wichita, and I think we're very fortunate that it continues to be the patient as a primary focus.
I have a beautiful wife and two daughters. I would say that's the number one thing in my life. We all love Wichita. I feel like Wichita has all the things of a big city we want, a great place to raise a family.
