It's amazing how the writing and acting is so perfect that you actually ship the siblings to be together. I hope she's not dead and that her and James finally get to be happy.
The writing is terrible. The plot is thrilling and the pacing is formidable, but the character’ s design and the conflict building and resolution are rubbish. So many questions, gaps, and loose ends left behind!

Can anyone explain to me why james broke up with zilpah so unexpectedly? dunno but to me it has always seemed like he truely loves her and couldn't forget her over years.. So why he dumped her after reunion? Don't see the reason.. 1. Wants to protect her because he's a wanted man? 2. Wants to hurt her, because she denied his affections at first? 3. Because he wanted to kill her and wants to protect her?
It was more like you recognized that the longer she stayed with him the more insane she was going to go. Remember after she killed her husband she went to James and told James that she had followed his orders but he never gave her any orders to kill her husband. James recognized that the illness his mother had she was now developing and that he was the trigger. It was all so hard for him because when they were making love he started to see his mother in his sister. He is protecting himself and her.

He didn't realize how his presence was effecting her and when he did. It was too late, she had already killed her husband and went to him gleefully to tell him. I however, would have loved to see Zilpha "let her hair down" and see the wild side of her. Her and James together in their "craziness" would have been great. Zilpha like a wild fledgling wild child. according to one British publication, the character of Zilpha will not be back during the second season. looks like they're done with her which is very disappointing. no mourning for his sister???
She probably won't be mourning her because he sees her in the spirit world where she is actually safer then in the real world when she was going insane.
And? That's the point of half the show. He/James was in love with his sister, and she with him. They were in a relationship when they were teens. He returned for HER and to get his fathers business back up so he could take HER and leave England. The entire show was about them, politics, and fighting against the government and what society deems acceptable and not. For him, he didn't care what society thought of him.
