Julie Maggard my brothers wife( when they were married) went to put an application in for a stewardess. she had all the other qualifications. they asked her a rather odd question, they asked her if she believed in the rapture, and she said yes. they did not hire her. in case the rapture does happen, someone needs to land the plane and the passengers safely. well..... if you're in the rapture going up, who cares if the plane is going down.

This could in fact change his life. Who knows something could happen tomorrow that rocks his life and this conversation could be the catalyst to him coming to Jesus. Let's pray for him

@@Scruffers2011 Nope, read the whole chapter, Paul starts his letter with "To all that be in Rome..." It also says all ungodliness not just the jews ungodliness. Why would Paul be writing about how creation shows Gods existence? This would be a stupid statement, the Jews had God's Word, they did not need to be told that God could be seen though His creation. In verse 13 it says even as among OTHER GENTILES, showing that he is indeed talking to gentiles. He is talking about everyone not just the Jews.
@@Scruffers2011 Also the gentiles do know the law, it has been written in their hearts. On their conscience. The gentiles also knew God, remember that at one point in time all of the world believed in the 1 true God. It was only later in earth's history that people started branching off, that is when He became strictly Israel's God. This passage is a story of how man became more and more corrupt over time, at verse 21 Paul starts using past tense verbs, from then on he is describing past events so when it says they knew God it was because they did amd then they rejected Him. But the same is true today God has given every man a conscience, and He has given every man His own creation to testify of Himself so they are without excuse. Everyone knows God, not personally, but in the sense of that they know who He is and that He exists. The gentiles in the past like during the time of the flood and even after that knew about God and sin and His judgement. Even today the atheists know God, from His creation, from the conviction of the Holy Spirit. This whole passage is talking about gentiles "they did not retain God in their knowledge" makes much more sense referring to gentiles who truly had not retained the God in their knowledge but had completely gone astray.
In hell, there are no atheist, because they now believe that Jesus died for their sins, but it is too late for them.

God calls us to take the truth of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. We have to speak the truth to rescue the people who wants to be rescued. And it is my job as a believer, to let you know, before it is too late. Otherwise God will hold me accountable for not telling you.
The Word of God says in Mark 16:15-16 (KJV 1960) the following... (by the way, this is Jesus giving us Christians a command in His Holy Word)... "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." You don't need to have a college degree to understand what Jesus is saying.
The decision to accept or reject Jesus as Savior is the ultimate life decision. Whatever the reasons why people reject Jesus Christ, their rejection has disastrous eternal consequences.
There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved than the name of Jesus. And those who reject Him, for whatever reason, face an eternity in the “outer darkness” of hell where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 25:30).
You have planted the seed and we pray that God will make Rodger seed grow.

1:40 Roger claims that the back fire to being focused on the parachute indicates you will not keep the plane in the sky.
1:53 Ray asks roger what I put in the comment above.
The point is that the plane is a metaphor for life and the parachute is trust in Christ after death for certainty of everlasting life.
Roger thought he was being witty saying that we should be more concerened with keeping the plane in the sky, but the point is that the plane can only stay up for as long as it has fuel.

I believe it is quite plain, excuse the pun, Ray initially used an analogy explaining that putting on Christ is like putting on a parachute otherwise you are just jumping into the unknown.
Roger understood the analogy but stated that the problem with religion can be people focusing on the afterlife more than the now life, which is what you said and is of course an issue.
Ray points put that the plane is coming down (we will all die) and we dont know when that will be, it is therefore wise to put thought into what is after life on this earth.

Roger is not your average atheist
The other guy is not your typical theist either,he even acknowledged the whole purpose of religion which is a coping mechanism for the weak minded by calling it a "parachute" for when Roger's plane crashes😂
JC I've followed the athiest 4 horsemen in my younger years. Believing that nothing came from nothing, but watching debates of them vs William Lane Craig and reading literature from C.S Lewis. I've realized Jesus actually existed with strong evidence of a resurrection, there has to be objective morality, logic couldn't have come from evolution, and there has to be an external force outside of this universe I order to create it.
There isn't really such thing as an average atheist because atheism isn't a structured belief system the same way mainstream religions are. Atheists just don't believe in God but apart from that we are all completely different. Hope that helps 🙂

It never ceases to amaze me just how many seemingly intelligent people can go decades on this earth without giving their life and creation any thought. And they don't even realize how much "faith" is required to believe the things they're told by atheist or agnostic scientists. In my opinion, it honestly requires even more faith to believe that the universe, the earth, and all of its inhabitants were one big happy accident.

@@stevecoates9604 It doesn't matter what I think but if God determines that, then yes it is right. It matters what the Bible says. What God says. God has already done for you what you could never do on your own and for yourself. You will never be able to pay for your sins through your good works but only through your acceptance of Jesus as your savior. Ray tells you what you must accept. No one was sinless before they were saved and will not be after they are saved. But they will be forgiven and it takes no longer than a few moments and then Heaven and eternal life is yours.

@@stevecoates9604 I resisted God and Jesus for many years. You and I are about the same age. I let my sins separate me from God. I let the belief that I would not be able to cease committing sin keep me from God. I did not want to be a hipocrite before God.. I thought being a good person was enough. It's not. But God did not make it difficult either. On the contrary it's easier than we think. Steve I wake up everyday knowing I'm forgiven as imperfect as I still am. The pressure is off and I am becoming more settled by the day. I want everyone to be in heaven and will pray we cross paths there. God bless you on your journey.

Alexandre, have you learned yet of your need to be born again? Ray preaches Biblical Christianity - salvation by grace through faith. Not something Catholics follow. Please consider this. Salvation isn't something we can earn by good works, but only through faith in Jesus can we be saved. Once we put our faith in Him and repent, we no longer need to worry about earning points to get to heaven. Not only could we never earn enough but Jesus already did it all - thankfully!

My grandma passed at 64 and my grandpa at 67 and my friend in her early 30s and my other friend in his teens. You can die at any time, my friend! But when our hope is in Heaven, death is not something to be frightened of. Jesus loves you!! :)

@@DanaAshlie That's nothing more than philosophical rant. What I meant was evidence based on reason, logic, and science. You see, I grew up a christian and my parents are still christians. They told me to do the same thing you mentioned so I did. In the quiet of my own room, with a sincere heart and desire to seek the truth, I read the entire bible. I became an atheist shortly after that.

No different than the smoker who refuses to accept the evidence that smoking harms you and continues to smoke because he just doesn't want to quit smoking. So are the sinners who reject God's existence. They don't do so on the grounds of lack of evidence, because there is an abundance of evidence. They do so because they don't want to quit living life based on their own moral compass. if God exists, it means you'll have to stop doing certain things you do. But the fact that you're here in a Christian channel shows that something inside you is telling you to return to the faith you once had. It's just your pride is battling with what you know is the right thing to do.
So prayers is indeed what you actually need, because the evidence is not what's holding you back. It's your pride my friend. Return to the God who loves you. You're a prodigal and God will take you back with open arms.

So I'm politely gonna refute your claim that I'm here because 'I want to return to faith that I once had'. I put the nail in the coffin for my religious faith and put it 6ft under the day I finished reading the bible and studying and learning about the history of religion since then has only reinforced my feelings. I'm open to change my mind once there are sufficient evidence that we all can look at, but untill then it's going to stay in that coffin forever. You mention smoking, do you realized the harmful effects of smoking have been well documented over the years with countless papers written and research done by scientists? It is backed by science. There are actual data and numbers. It's something you can look and see, a concrete evidence. If I'm a smoker I have very good reasons to quit. That is evidence. Where is your evidence? You mentioned none. 'I don't understand this therefore insert god' doesn't count as evidence. Anecdotes and personal feelings and stories doesn't count as evidence. Merely saying there's evidence when presenting none doesn't even make sense. Some of the things that theists claim as evidence, which, again you didn't even mention, are merely philosophical talking points that have been refuted by the ancient greeks. I believe the year's 2019.
