For those who are wondering why that happens. I'm not 100% sure on that, but as a programmer myself i can tell you pretty confidently that it happens duo to the fact the gun isnt being rendered when you don't look at it. Only the world you are looking at is being rendered and computed by the PC. So when you throw the weapon and look away, the game only knows that the weapon is there but doesnt bother waisting power on calculating all the flips it does during the throw. Which means that when you look at it again, since it didn't calculate how it's suppoust to land, it takes its predetermined state, which in this case is facing west.
@@entropy9788 this may make sense to limit how many physics calculations on falling guns are run at once. And in general you're only spending resources on what's on screen for at least some part of time. It seemed weird at first but it actually makes a ton of sense.
@@entropy9788 even not being a programmer (or in my case before I was a programmer) it is pretty locigal that that would save the most effort for the pc
Do the guns only face west when YOU drop them and look away, or does it apply to boss drops as well? Look away from the boss when all its stuff hits the ground and see if everything is facing west o.O

God watching you farm for pearls makes me realize how bad my luck with them has been. I’ve put probably thousands of hours into this game and only gotten one. Like hundreds of craw kills and armory runs and for a Serpens no less. RIP
Its so crazy to me that you found pearls so rare. Does the drop rate for them increase on 4 players? All i know is back when i played this game with my boys everyday after school, craw dropped pearls pretty much every time, they were not in short supply.

Meanwhile ive spent 3 weeks farming for a pearl and still not got one. Typical
I got one on my 2nd day of farming but it was an ironclad and it was worse than the shield I already had on lmao

I think that the guns point west because when you aren't looking at a certain direction or, in this case, looking at the gun, the game tries to make things easier on itself because when you drop a gun, it falls a certain way and lands a certain way, so since you're not looking, it puts it in a default position and when it's in a default position, the game doesn't have to try to constantly keep it in a position that it was originally in.
Note: This is opinion, I tried to google it and I couldn't find anything about it. If I am wrong, tell me. Just know I'm not a video game scientist or whatever.

Joltz. Playthrough idea. For weapons maybe only jakobs or maliwan for shields only anshin fot grenades only torgue and like this you can choose what to use. But for the whole playthrough use that kind of shield relic weapon class mod
3:55 probably has something to do with it being removed from memory when you look away then when you look at it again its loaded and doesn't have an orientation because you didn't let it fall so west would be the default position. just a guess though

I recently joined the BL community and I'm trying my best to farm items. problem is I'm a perfectionist so I want to find the perfect weapon, shield, etc... in both bl1 and bl2. problem is I have no idea where to find the perfect stats for each gun. could anyone help me out xD It's killing me not knowing if I'm throwing out perfect guns or not.
heyooooooooooooooooooo joltz/ anyone looking through the comments i got a bessie today and i cant seem to figure out why my skullmasher still does more damage for critical hits. my bessie does about 1000 damage (headshot) more, minus my 85% sniper critical hit specter COM. i think its because my COM is supporting every pellet of my skullmasher pleasetell me if i am correct . thanks

How many times you killed him to drop you a pearl ??
I've only ever received 3 pearls in this game and all from crawmerax. They were all shields which are always disappointing to me. Probably killed him 200+ times.
I have over 10 hour of collective farming Craw and the Armory with no luck. I would love to get one for bragging rights, any tips or helpful tricks to increase my chances? Also is craw a one time kill per save quit?
How to tell if Joltz is reading your comment. A. Is he driving? If so then check for B. Is he near a cliff or death wall? If you answered yes to these questions Joltz is definitely reading your comment.

I have about 200 hours in bl1 but have had 0 pearl drops, they're stupidly rare and it sucks that they only can drop in the lance chests or craw.
Defiler is your gub for BL1 Gub is your Gub in bl2 and you don’t do much in BLTP so you have no Gub
So is borderlands different on PC than console because I get do bored playing borderlands on console and I feel like you never get bored playing it

In bl2 there are no pearl grenade mods or no pearl shields or no pearl relic and no pearl class mod.Should they add that to borderlands 3???

30 kills is not a lot. Ive killed craw 100s of times (it feels like anyways) and never gotten one.

Angel Ramirez i see that too, you want a completely completely fresh experience... I wouldn’t mind 1-3 returning pieces of gear from any of the games all together but other than that I want everything to be new also!
I would like returning gear in like a headhunter pack, but not part of Vanilla game. I guess more of a gear pack, rather than headhunter
I can see why, and I do think there are some guns like the volcano and hellfire that I think are just staples of borderlands that almost have to return, but I don’t want it to be like TPS where almost every legendary is a returning one. I do want it to be almost exclusively new guns with a few callbacks, the DLC idea is honestly really a good one.
If anything does return, I would like it to be BL1 exclusives. NO GROG EVER. I think moxxi weapons in general are fine but I swear if there is another grog like thing...
