I just returned my 2021 Tesla model 3 AWD which was a company car due to changing jobs. I didnt want to go back to an ICE so did some research on the Zoe and other vehicles. I test drove a dealership approved Zoe late 2020 GT Line R135 with 12k on the clock. I was amazed at just how good this car is. Its not a Tesla but bang for buck its an incredible car. I picked mine up Renault approved for £15500 still under warranty. I had no idea you could get that level of EV for that price. I would certainly recommend this car to anyone. EV ownership doesnt have to be for the wealthy only
I bought a Zoe GT LINE 15 months ago. It's been a brilliant car and third EV I've owned since 2015, it's the first EV which has the range and rapid charge that I've not felt the need to keep an ice car as well. It's great secret is it has the capability to charge at 7.4 and 22 kWh from AC As well as 50 kWh DC Charging, there are a lot more 22 kWh charging points around now! I can highly recommend the Zoe.
Great video and a very fair assessment of the ZE50. I have recently purchased a 71 Reg ZE50 for just over £10,000 and it is a great car. It is extremely energy efficient even at higher speeds. I am not concerned about the NCAP rating as they keep moving the goal posts any way I was the previous owner of a Gen 1 Zoe and this one is a completely different beast altogether..And the CCS and the massively increased range have changed my journeys completely. Less charging, faster journeys. And in great comfort as well.
Winter range in the cold takes a hit, but that’s EV. AC charging is faster than other brands but you need the charger to support it. DC not great, have dessert with your meal and maybe a coffee. My 2020 needs a new ball joint, slack found at service. Covered 100% by Renault, no argument. Take that VW! Really good review. Quick but covered everything. Very happy with mine.
Bought my wife a 21 plate zoe as a second ev.We absolutely love it, ours is a 135.50 gt line. The only negative thing is the way the top of the door curves in .If you're not careful it can catch you on the side of the head.
Hello, thank you! I live near Amsterdam. For the price of 1 liter eu patrol (€2,24) I charge 6.22 kwh (Tesla €0.36) means I can drive my Zoe 52 km for the price of 1 liter patrol! (After 3 years battery degradation is almost zero, for local driving I never charge more than 80%) Summer consumption now 12 kwh/100km! No other car then the Zoe can do this. For my new Zoe I paid 50% of the new price because of grants and rent battery (low capacity means free new battery). Happy with my Zoe.
Keeping in mind the average hight of a U.K. male is 5ft 7 inches (176 cm) putting a 6ft 3 inch male in the back of the car to show it is cramped is rather silly.
You fail to mention that the 0 ncap score is based on the play model not the others. Plus my other half who is a 6ft 1in idiot can fit in the back quite comfortably.
It is not an electric car thing. You just feel charging is a bigger chore. What is an electric car thing is heating in the winter time. No free heating from the engine.
They should release a smaller portable battery's for those unable to do a plug-in charge. Range is irrelevant, even a 30 mile radius would be surely better than petrol crap.
@@markreed9853 Bikes are not fine for 30 mile radius unless you're practicing for the olympics. Therefore a smaller battery is ideal. Smaller = liftable.
@@unclefurbiesvoice9902 with a car though you need around 1Kwh of batteries for 4 miles of range - and then there is the battery cooling and heating needed especially when charging, its just not worth it for most vehicles people want to buy.
@@markreed9853 "Not worth it" by whose standards? Since they can make a carry-able E-Bike go for 60miles+ or similar, I'm sure they can make carry-able batteries for E-Cars, even if it means rather small cars with heavy batteries. Since driving is a problem in most places due to excess traffic, it stands to reason that the smaller the car and the heavier the battery, the better. Can't lift an 80kg battery up the stairs? You don't drive, simple.
I agree completely, when I was 17 my driving instructor said to me, When you get behind the wheel of a car, consider everyone else on the road to be a bloody idiot who can do any thing at any time and you will be fine. And he was right.@Lookup2Wakeup

Always worth remembering the Zoe's secret superpower, onboard 22kW charging!

On our 2nd a 135gt fabulous car.

To actually know what you are buying, do you interrogate the cars computer and get a detailed print out of battery SOH? It matters.
Correction: The Christmas pudding in my Mum's cupboard is actually a 2010 version

Thank you 😊
The battery in the zoe is air-cooled, not liquid cooled. I don't think the battery will last as long .

That is why it has a heat pump. Heating is amazing in the winter.
Still no free hating.
@@michaelenglund not free, an ICE wastes around 80% due to friction and heat while an electric is over 90% efficiant.
Free as the waste is needed for propulsion

But renualt did a BIG mistake.. that brand new ZE50 have earned 0 start in NCAP. WHY they removed all the sidecollision of the safty.
Best value new EV is MG4 !
Best value second hand EV is Ioniq 28kw...
I love the smell of a burning EV in the mornings.
Stupid comment as there are more ICE fires than EV's.
It's not burning EVs that you're smelling in the morning! it's shit up your nose from muff diving at night.😂

batteries are to heavy for this for a car, bikes fine, It also adds complexity so extra costs

Nowhere near that range
Really? I am getting 200 miles on a charge in April, come high summer 240 will be easy. Very energy efficient car.
Upgraded battery, downgraded airbags.. 🤦♂️
That’s what I holding me back from buying one… only ever bought 5 start crash safety cars.
More of a reflection on NCAP. They allow #laneassist & I think thats the most dangerous thing ever put in a motor car!
