My first foster fail, a Californian X REW, was actually living in a car with her human prior to being brought to the rescue and surrendered through many tears. She was very loved and extremely socialized despite that hardship. She loves to snuggle on the floor and now her husbun has learned to accept pets and nose rubs…but not so much snuggles for him. The best feeling is when she melts into petting and tilts her head into my hand. 🥰
Wow, a rabbit living with a human in a car. I believe I saw a situation like that in one of Lennon The Bunny’s video’s. That rabbit was so loved! I am glad your foster rabbit got so much love with you. It is so special when a bunny expresses his love for you like that.
@@princesspikachu3915 A foster fail is a scenario in which pet parents take in a foster animal on a temporary basis, but ultimately adopt them as a permanent member of the family.
I am a first time rabbit owner. I am 63 years old. Long story short..I picked up a 2 year old male rabbit from a Humane Society in Manitoba Canada. He was neutered at that point. He was tagged as a mini rex but when I joined an online rabbit forum, I quickly realized he was likely a cross with a Netherland Dwarf and a lionhead. I am absolutely smitten with this adorable, highly intelligent creature. I did a lot of research before deciding a rabbit could be happy and thrive in our home. After watching your video I realized how incredibly fortunate we are to have this rabbit. He loves to be petted. He rushes to the front of his X pen the minute he hears my voice. He follows me around when he free roams. He has brought me SO much joy during an incredibly sorrowful time in our lives.
Hi Mariska! Lovely video! My wife and I adopted a bun almost a year ago. Andre is very social and loves and demands attention. He licks my hand and face everyday when I pet him. I was curious why he doesn’t do it with my wife? She more of the caretaker and spoils him. So I’m surprised that he only licks me. Can you tell me why that is? Thank you for sharing your knowledge on buns!👍🏾
Hi! Andre sounds like a very friendly bunny. It is hard to say why a bunny chooses to groom one person and not the other. It might even be because your wife is spoiling him and is therefore considered lower in the hierarchy. Bunnies groom other bunnies who are higher in the hierarchy. Of course I am just guessing. 🙂 It could also be a that your face tastes better 🤭 or there is a difference in energy. My rabbits don't groom me either. Sera used to lick my nose sporadically, but I think she has grown over that. 🙈
Great video, excellent advice!! You have to invest lots of time. You can't rush or force a relationship with your bunny. But it's well worth it when you get to enjoy all the bunny snuggles!! 💕😊
You are so well informed i love this because people need to know how to treat bunnies.so many bunnies are mistreated, people need to know better❤ thank you🙏

Of our four rabbits the two males like to cuddle, the females do not really like it. Only when they are cudling with their partner they dont mind being patted by us humans.
I need a little bit of advice because last year I got two pet rabbits as an Easter gift. They constantly fight with each other and the only veterinarian office that neuters rabbits said neutering and bonding the two rabbits won't stop them from fighting each other. To add to that, the surgery is extremely risky. The veterinarian I talked to said my rabbits could die at the table. I'm worried about my two rabbits and I don't know what to do. Is there a way I could bond my two rabbits with each other and me without neutering them?
Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear your bunnies cannot live together. If your bunnies are both male, bonding them will be difficult even after neutering them. Neutering your rabbits might on the other hand make them less aggressive. Neutering is a normal procedure for rabbits and when your rabbits are not very old, I would suggest having it done. It is important that the vet is rabbit savvy, though. It is true that a rabbit can die during the operation, but in most cases the procedure goes well. It is important to be home when it happens and to take good care afterwards.
@@the_bunnymom There's another problem. The only vet that is willing to neuter them is about 2 hours away from where I live. It takes a lot of gas to get there. We can't afford that much gas money. To add to that, my parents don't want me to take the risk. I would gladly neuter them to make them less aggressive. But my parents and my brother are scared of the risks of neutering rabbits. They won't let me neuter them because the vet scared them out of it. What can I do to convince my parents to change their minds? I even told them that I would pay for it. That didn't work.
@@GabrielThomas-ik9eu I understand that the costs of driving so far are big, as well as the neutering. Those are big expenses. I don't know how to convince your parents, but you could do some research on the internet about neutering and the risks. Maybe you can find a website you can show to your parents to make them less afraid of the procedure.
I am so sorry to hear that! I don't have experience with that myself, but I think you can try to hand feed the bunny. If the bunny has not been fixed yet, it could help to have that done. Also, the bunny could be frustrated by living alone, or is he/she living with another bunny?
@@JC-ce8uw I am sorry that happened to you. It sounds like she is defending her territory against the other bunny. And you were sadly in between. You can try bonding them in a neutral territory if they are fixed. That can be tried with caution and only under supervision. It's best to read about it on the internet, because there is a lot of info out there about bonding rabbits. 🙂
Rabbits are pretty vicious with each other. They’re not going to be friends right away and in some cases, never. They need to be bonded and is a slow and longer process that requires consistency and dedication. And if they’re not spayed/neutered, PLEASE don’t leave them together. There way too many rabbits out there who need homes already. Also, if you’re keeping her in the cage alone, she may be lonely and suffering and you’re a predator in her eyes if she tries to bite you. This means she doesn’t trust you and is afraid of you. Try to be kind to her, spend more time with her by sitting on the floor and let her approach you. Speak in a loving voice and create an environment where she can run and play. Also, rabbits hate to be picked up.

What’s a “foster fail”?
It’s when you end up adopting rather than just being a temporary home. 🙂@@princesspikachu3915

I'm currently giving them bunny granola. But my bunnies also love Selective Loops and home made dried pieces of apple.
