Used to travel on Turkish Airlines quite often and they had this whole show on their on board entertainment. Used to re play this song over and over, through the entire flight.....just amazing....thanks for sharing it.
Having heard this song hundreds of times before, hearing this version put a whole new perspective on it for me. This version is so exquisite and touching. Absolute masterpiece.
Love the different emotions this version brings out vs the original. Original is up tempo and has almost a manic pace; which I interpret as representing the constant and almost manic thoughts someone with “sucker love” has. You think about a thousand things a minute - all related to the object of your infatuation - do they love me? What does this mean? Why didn’t the call back? Who are they talking to? etc. It’s a constant action packed roller coaster which is what the original is pace-wise. This version is still great and stripping it down gives it almost a forlorn and morose feeling. Much sadder than the original - almost as if it’s post-breakup and you are dealing with the aching of loss. Same lyrics but totally different meaning which means it’s an amazing song.
Sucker love is heaven sent You pucker up, our passion's spent My heart's a tart, your body's rent My body's broken, yours is bent Carve your name into my arm Instead of stressed, I lie here charmed 'Cause there's nothing else to do Every me and every you Sucker love, a box I choose No other box I choose to use Another love I would abuse No circumstances could excuse In the shape of things to come Too much poison come undone 'Cause there's nothing else to do Every me and every you Every me and every you Every me Sucker love is known to swing Prone to cling and waste these things Pucker up for heaven's sake There's never been so much at stake I serve my head up on a plate It's only comfort, calling late 'Cause there's nothing else to do Every me and every you Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Like the naked leads the blind I know I'm selfish, I'm unkind Sucker love I always find Someone to bruise and leave behind All alone in space and time There's nothing here but what here's mine Something borrowed, something blue Every me and every you Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you
I always get a psalm-like vibe from it, and I do enjoy it even though I consider myself atheist. This version is very different from any other version of the song. I feel like it direct towards something peaceful/relieving/transcendental, almost messianic (as a spirit, not talking about the actual religious myth). Good work. I’m really looking forward to their next album, which hopefully is not too far.
What's the name of the female singer? I can't hear exactly what Molko says as he introduces her. I love her voice. Not many (almost no one) is worthy of singing a duet with Molko, but she sure is. I need to explore her Music, but I first have to Catch the name... EDIT: Nevermind, I found. Majke Voss Romme.
I know this might be kinda late, but I just found it -- it's on MTV Australia website. Just do a Google Search. But unless you live there you will need a VPN.
I loved this show, the visuals and the sound were incredible, but this was My least favorite song, her voice is great, but Brian sung in such a weird voice that it didnt fit Hers.. like the contrast just makes him sound bad I dont know, just didnt like it. Rest of the show is amazing though
Hey, every me and every you is aloud to have an opinion but I find this haunting and addictive, I think its artistically perfect ...their contrast is sublime and emotive and all this from a major grunge fan.🙏🏻
@@euancoulter4345 I don't know why is it invalid I'm just saying I feel he sang in a different way than in the original version and I didnt enjoyed it as much. And is kinda late to Say they are not the band for me after 15 years of listening them. I love Placebo, I just happen to also have an opinion.
@@dreameroftheday.8381 Haunting is great word to describe Placebo and this show in particular. I just didnt like this particular piece as much. But as You said everyone can have their own opinion.

"All alone in space and time, there's nothing here but what here's mine"
I can never listen to this line enough.
Something borrow and something blue like the weedings. Like the life too: borrowed and blue (sad).
This song is perfect... it's like a tear of life
Absolutely. Just love it.

Wow¡¡¡¡

For all the good things about Placebo, Brian's vocals on this show disappointed me a little.
all my love for brian but the contrast between him and the guest vocalist really makes him sound shit in this one
Don't like this version
