This band is amazing, every song written by them looks flawless and well-done, I might carry on listening to their albums forever despite the latter proved to be different from the stuff composed till then. It's a kind of shortage, like a black period they caught and I hope they'll get out of that side really soon; the music and the feeling they spread are something scary if you want to regard the different genres they stirred together. We've both sides of music: sadness and joy, and they get mixed deliciously beyond question! I don't know whether you noticed that they started with a tiny electronic influence, it was prone to classical rock with some variations for drums and guitar but after all it was akin to the stuff provided in the '80s. They decided to put more electronic in their music afterwards and it's the point they introduced the new weirdest instruments for, they were looking for something less commercial and unique likewise! It's the same aim as Muse, because they also started off with a kind of Radiohead addiction which was properly rock but, a few years later, they took synths and the sound turned into a new shape. It's like you start over while seeking a new road, a newer approach to stick to, even for the creation of a personal sound. It's feasible that you want to attain a personal position and to wipe out all those biases around your name, the initial thought by the audience.
what I love about placebo is that they dont mask the music or voices so they sound JUST as good as they do on record unlike just about everyone else these days it's sad what's become of music.

Concordo pienamente, Chiara. When MTV was involved in the best and most deserving kinds of music, not to provide that trash we all know. Placebo are one of the most important bands ever, all their songs spread a particular message and by an usual approach, something you can grasp and easily appreciate. The way they get on stage and the emotion born between them and the public are the irrefutable mark that you get used to this despite their temperament is discussable and weird. I might never have made a lot of things happen during my life if I hadn't founded such an incredible band on my way; moreover I acknowledge that a chunk of their music is based on those mixtures of rock and electro, it's why I keep likening them to Muse, they both succeed in this merger without showing any lack while the fondest fans look at the future. Sadly it's changing too much and their latter work is different, seemingly commercial and I spot a shortage of inspiration in many tunes, a sort of instinctual commercial approach to get closer to the new streams or I hope it may mean a breakthrough, the beginning for the forthcoming age. Never underrate Placebo!
@anseurs experimental outro? i want to hear it. Before he cuts to The Bitter End....which concert is this? Maybe i could hear it elsewhere on youtube or something, i want to hear it!! For heaven's sake there's never been so much at stake!
Brian Molko is so underated, his psycology in this performance is amazing
with 20 years these 3 songs are maybe the best placebo's songs..Its amazing to watch these 3 together in a live video!!
