Belting vid, ribble really is a great asset in our NW angling portfolio! Not surprising worm reigns supreme! I like the idea of the coffee rig. I've used dropshot with worm on small rivers for perch effectively, but it never occurred to me to try it for chub and barbel! 👍
Cheers mate! Couldn't agree more, its a river that could throw up a PB for just about every species going 😀. The bites on the coffee rig for chub were super aggressive, very little warning! Next time, i'm taking a much lighter quiver tip rod, with a lighter Centrepin but maintaining the heavy line and owe more time to the bigger hooks in a bid to catch the elusive Barbel...
Cheers Chris, really appreciate the feedback 😀 You into your coarse fishing as well as sea fishing too? Fantastic profile picture by the way! Been looking into bass fishing here in the north west, looks like great fun 👍 Cheers, Joel
@@albionangling Hi I am into fly and lure fishing, fish for Bass on the south coast around Chicester it's a great area for Bass, Fish for them on fly and lure, also flyfishing on rivers and stillwater
Absolutely, the intention was to pitch the methods against each other for barbel but whilst the barbel weren't knocking, I decided to step it down and pick up on other species! Will do some dedicated barbel sessions with the methods next season for sure 😀
There's a French method called pêche au toc that's a lot like how you were fishing with worms. I've never been able to find much information about it in English, but there are a lot of videos on here that show the method.

Not really surprised worm out fished the squirmy as it's generally very hard not to catch on worm.
