Great video filled with honest, practical advice. Think I'll stick to the kayak when I hit the road :)

😂 - this topic headline is a joking stir for the wives …… surely.
Of course a boat is essential for touring …… but they rarely fit the weight issues

Great video. Wanted to ask your thoughts - if you could take 2 vehicles on your journey (one towing the boat the other the caravan) what type and how big a boat would you go (considering the destinations you have been over the years)? I'm planning my retirement years and thinking this kind of set up might be better than upgrading the rig.

      Very interesting question.
It is going to depend on you and your ability as well as your partners. A bigger boat has some negatives, like needing 2 people launch and decent launching facilities and then becomes limited as far as exploring up small river systems, obviously it's off shore ability would be much greater as the trade off.
For me, I would probably choose a 4.7 side console, high side. Big enough to no worry so much about crocs but small enough to still go up estuaries. I would also try to keep it light as possible so that it can still be beach launched. And still be ok to head out too reefs on good days.
Hope your retirement works out well and you find the right set-up for you.
