Hello Marie Louise. Your every how-you-do video is wonderful and instructional. Thank you for making and sharing them Here is a quick tip I do when using tape. It prevents colors bleeding under the tape, and it leaves a sharp, clean edge around the art piece. Using any gel medium, and either a small bush or your index finger (as I do), brush or rub a small amount of medium along the inside edge of the tape. Let it dry, which it does quickly. Then paint away. When you remove the tape, it will lift easily revealing no color bleed through and clean, sharp edges around the artwork's four sides. This tip works a treat! JFB
Loved this. Started doing this right away to help get the creative juices flowing. I will use this exercise whenever I'm feeling "stuck'. Thanks, Marie Louise!
Thanks so much for parts 1 and 2. Great to see you applying the paint and, just as important, to hear your thoughts as you develop the work. Love the simple, limited palette. Less is more and you prove that in this video. I have been painting and teaching for many years. I discovered your videos just a few weeks ago and can see a marked difference in my work after watching you work which, I have to admit, has surprised me. Thanks a million. Have a wonderful Christmas. Wishing you love, peace and happiness. M.
What a kind and encouraging comment, thank you Malcom, for taking the time to share your feedback. Wishing you a wonderful and peaceful Christmas as well. Best wishes from Denmark
Hello Painters. Here is PART 2 of How to Simplify and loosen up your painting style :) Getting out of your comfort zone can be a bit scary at first but you will quickly get the hang of this. Practice your painting skills using acrylic paint, learn the pitt falls and you will se results fast! You can do this! I believe in you! Thank for watching and have a lovely and creative week ahead! xx
Thank you this really helped me today. I was so frustrated with a classical approach so I used your technique my view was my garden. I've made some wonderful marks xxx
Thank you for sharing this 2-part series! I always love watching your painting process, because it inspires me and also gives me the courage to experiment. I also loved seeing the winter wonderland where you are at the end. The snow is so pretty, even if I'm not a fan of winter. 😊
Thanks again for sharing the reality of these types of experiments - that sometimes they "work" and sometimes they don't, but that it all has value in our journey of discovery. You are a very encouraging teacher as well as an amazing artist☺️
Thank you for the two videos, it's great to see how you work in detail, and be able to use this as a starting point. Lots of free expressive work due to be done in the new year! The snow looks wonderful, it transforms the landscape, I wonder if I could paint snow on trees?! Thank you again.
Takk for påminnelse av å "løse litt opp" fordi det er så lett å tenke at man skal opp til en eksamen og alt må være perfekt. Glad jeg fant siden din 🤗 hilsen hobbymaler fra Norge 🎈
I really like watching and listening to you working through your thought process and problem solving.

Thank you for your wonderful generosity and encouragement🙏🏻👏🏻🥰
The painting on the top right that you say is to busy I like the most. It has a lot of interest.
The one on the bottom right is my favorite.Something about the dark streaks against the white is fascinating to me. Thanks for another great lesson!

Some of my favorite end results begin with big mess ups.

Ja du har ret, jeg skal øve mig hver dag så jeg ikke ender til eksamen og i alt for mange detaljer.. Velkommen til kanalen og hilsner fra syd 👋
The two bottom ones with the black is throwing it off ,I think.
I would soften the black a little maybe add some brown instead?
Thanks for the hairdryer tip! It drives me mad when the masking tape lifts the paper surface
Do you apply gesso on your watercolor paper before you apply paint? Thank you for you videos.
Sometimes I do but not in this particular video. I always use gesso on canvas. Hope that helps. Best wishes xx
I’m wondering how this would work out in watercolor which isn’t correctable and needs to be applied light to dark.
Gods don't crash 😬
