  • An exhausted GP could either try and drive home after 3 back-to-back filming sessions down at Angler's Paradise...or.....he could stay in a Bed and Breakfast establishment at no small expense.or....he could sleep overnight in his bivvy, be safer for the long drive home next morning, plus have the very outside chance of his bait being intercepted by a fish...Yes...we all know which option he took!! Also at the end he throws in a film of an earlier winter session on a new river he has been working with baits and lures for Pike...plus, what is a Dog doing in a fishing film? Yep, you need to watch it all to find out...Another Totally Awesome Fishing film...

There is no filling the boots of David Attenborough..I just hope that other bloke doesn't get it,with the puffa anorak and blow dried hair...David Attenborough's voice is therapeutic and calming, the other bloke's high pitched grating tone is just not the same...They need someone like Stephen Fry, Michael Portillo etc,the voice is why the programmes are so popular. Mind you the filming is also pretty far out there as well..I'm guessing its not a part -cracked secondhand GoPro 7 camera like I use....

The wee bugger caught a fallow dear dawn by the leg one day. The hind was butting him but he never let go til I arrived and called him off. The name? He stunk! So he was an 'old English Stenchound, to anyone that asked what breed he was. Hair like a toilet brush.

I have a Parsons Jack Russell and visited Swimbridge, a village about 10 miles from Barnstable last year, where the Reverend John (Jack) Russell lived 1820-1880 as parish priest. He was a hunting fanatic and bred the longer legged Jack Russells to run with his hounds. Hence the name Parsons Jack Russell. Keep up the good work. Like many, I enjoy your videos immensely.

I confess just after we came out of lockdown several fisheries I went to were obviously rammed with anglers ,but many were zipped up inside their bivvies with plumes of smoke leaking out of the zip !!...I guess it was the stress of that era that caused a boom in the consumption of wacky backy...The sweetish smell of it carries across from the other side of the lake. I don't know if they caught anything as I never saw them come out....I doubt they cared !!

I get wobbly eyes from watching a quiver-tip over slightly choppy water, it's fine when you're looking at the tip but as soon as you look up at the far bank everything is sort of shimmering for 30 seconds or so. I think it's sort of like how your balance goes weird on dry land after being in a boat all day, the brain has been compensating/filtering all day and it takes a while to get back to normal

On our second Patterdale. First one was curly haired and like a little human, so placid and understood everything.
This one is smooth haired and total opposite. Hair trigger reactions, doesn't like bigger dogs and wagons, no recall whatsoever, doorbells, knocks at the door etc. An absolute nutter

Yes Graeme Patterdale terriers are great little dogs and they are brilliant to use for ratting, they absolutely love it. I had one years ago but most recently I had 2 border terriers for 10 and 15 years and you're very right Graeme, losing a dog that you had for so long is absolutely heartbreaking I was so upset when I lost mine. I was down in the dumps for weeks and weeks, it's like losing a close relative, I remember how happy and excited they got when I got home from work every day. I'd love to get another but I don't wanna have another 10-15 years and then lose it, too painful.

Patterdales are amazing little dogs mate. Funny, full of character, not as nuts as a Jack, comical like a mini Lab. Intelligent. My last dog was a Chocolate Lab called Douglas. He was faithful and funny and could sniff out a biscuit hidden in brambles over 100 yards away doing his sniffing like a hoover.
