  • Wędkarstwo muchowe w UK - River Severn - Walia
Caersws Angling Association controls approximately seven miles of double bank fishing for trout, grayling and salmon on the Upper River Severn in Mid Wales. The tributaries, the Carno Brook and AfonTrannon, additionally offer wilderness brook fly fishing.
The Association waters are predominantly fly only but spinning and worm fishing are permitted on the water available downstream of the village of Caersws.
The River meanders through some of the most stunning scenery in Mid Wales. It is rain fed but in dry conditions the flow rate is supplemented by compensation water released from the Clywedog Reservoir, which is some ten miles upstream on the Afon Clywedog, a Severn tributary.
Some excellent fly hatches occur on the water notably Grannom and Stone/Needle flies plus various upwinged species. Dry fly fishing can be productive as well as challenging when the water is very clear.
The water is notable for grayling, which have fared well in the last few years since the Association introduced a rule of catch and release for the species.
