Very comprehensive review, thanks! I decided to invest a bit more and get Sony XM5s, but I understand it might not be in everyone's price range so it is good to see some alternatives too. Well done Edifier!
I have one Edifier 950NB, and i can say: The best headphone With good price and amazing functions, like, noise cancellation works well, low noise cancellation is good too, ambient sound is good too, maybe I d like to get more up on maximum volume(but not too much, it’s good, but I like a hard song hehe). This headphone have an excellent bass and others, to listening my songs in anyplace it’s ok, really a good Edifier product to buy for less money and amazing quality/premium.
I'm agree with you I buy it for 140 dollars on us Amazon have 40 dollars discount and I pull the trigger very happy with my sennheiser 😊 and I get it in white love that color looks really nice
I wonder if they updated these since they were initially released? Mine can get very loud, I usually use them anywhere between 30 to 50% volume. For comparison, with the Bose NC700 I'm usually between 60 and 70%. I also noticed that initial reviewers say that they come in the classic music mode out of the box while mine bought in 2024 were set to dynamic mode out of the box. They now also work with Edifier's new connex app btw, which is far less intrusive and much more stabile than the old connect app. Just connect them manually via the bluetooth menu and then the app will recognize them (tested on Android only).
@@ConstantGeekery thanks for your reply. Currently the edifier is 100USD while the xm4 is at 220USD. Do you think the edifier gives better value for money or it is worth another 100USD to get the xm4?
@@zendanmoko5005 difficult to answer as it depends on your priorities. If you want best possible sound quality, noise cancellation and longest lifespan, go Sony. If you are more focused on listening to speech over music, and you won't be in very noisy environments, the Edifiers are good... especially at $100.
Here the sonys were more then double the price lmao. The edifiers look realy good and are remarkably comfortable. And if you find the volume not loud enough without the safety feature, i feel sorry for your hearing and your relatives.
When I tested the Edifiers, they got nowhere near dangerous volume and are quieter than the Sony headphones, which also have a sensible limit. My hearing is fine, other than degradation that comes with age. I don't listen at dangerous volumes, nor do I listen at levels which might offend those around me.

A very insightful review. Great to hear more about the alternatives on the market that aren't so steep in price!
I agree. But you can install poweramp custom EQ. Which gave me solutions to all the complaints he is stating here.
I have a WH950NB and its awesome for that price! :)
Can you give a short review? How's the comfort, anc and mic?

4 band full parametric EQ is quite the feature, although I fear most people aren't going to understand it.
I got the edifier 950nb in my country for 80$ and I think it’s really worth it
Thanks for another unbiased and informative product review.
My review of this review.
Great Review!
😂
Great, detailed and thoughtful video, which answers all the questions I had. Thanks 😊
Did you buy madame?
Great Review!
My opinion is when i test both. Anc of edifier is much better than xm5. And the sound quality surpass it in a little bit different level
Do you own both of them? Why do u think its better sound quality than xm5?
If this is a B+, what is your rating for the xm4?
I'd give them an A+. For the price, there's not much to compete with the XM4.
