The Americans fought there too. It's a shame that the Aussies get all the credit for Borneo.

Its probably because the Aussies were the main attacking force with both infantry and the Australian Air force. the Aussies contributed 12,000 troops on the ground where the Americans contributed 1,000 and these were mainly naval personnel.
