Every once in a while....an individual comes along with some much talent that his/her performaces are mind boggling!!!!! Such an individual was Joey De....just inbelievable....those are 2 words that rightly describe this giant of a talent....the world of music will miss his playing imensely!!!!! He was a unique talent....a one off....a genius....i could go on and on.....sadly..he is no longer with us...but we have his music to bear witness to the incredible talent that he was gifted with.....we all miss him....rest in peace Joey!!!!!
:: What a beautiful to "dust off" this instrument and make it contemporary!!!! And who better than an organ genius like Joey DeFrancesco to show its multiple possibilities. Way to go, Viscount!!! ::
Now that's a fun instrument! The only limitation is your imagination! Joey, you are the man to put it through its paces. Great demonstration by a fantastic keyboard artist! Peace bro.
Such a sad loss to all of us and everyone who loves the sound of the organ. Rest in peace great man. Best of the best organists. Listen to him for hour after hour.
I was a Hammond organ tech for almost forty years. Hammond made the New B3 which reverted back to a multiple bussbar and layered keyswitch design to reproduce the original tonewheel B3 keying. They had a lot of problems with the metal contacts oxidizing in humid environments. I wonder what the keyswitch design is on this unit and how reliable it will be.
Hi Chris, my son plays keyboard and I recently got him a Hammond M3, 2 or 3 of the little tubes are missing, will it hurt it to run it like that until I get some?
@@ryananthony4840 I agree. One of those vacuum tubes probably is for the pedals, if it is the model with percussion, a couple tubes deal with that. Any other missing tubes and you probably would not even have sound.
@@keyboardtek thank you Chris, it seems to hum kinda loud so I was worried..... I didn't know if missing tubes would overload the other ones. Yes it has percussion, how do I know what year it was made?
Joey is the living master today. I have to mention Mel Rhyme, who rarely got any credit, was the the key master on Boss Guitar with Wes and Jimmy Cobb. Mel has passed on but his licks still haunt me to this day. I was fascinated and blown away by that album since I was a teenager. Joey is one of the greatest and has earned his place in Jazz Organ World.
The New Legend Soul has now set a new standard with the contact sim - no other clone company can just maintain their status quo like MAG, H-S and Crumar - pretty sure the Legend Soul is using a Fatar keybed so the concept will be available.
Actually, no Viscount makes the hybrid 9 contact system in house and is proprietary. So unless someone re-engineers it, won’t be available anywhere else anytime soon.
Very cool, but ... I was running my left hand bass through a separate output in the 70s, with a Farfisa. Ditto a Roland and Yamaha. I always thought that was a standard feature of organs and synths. Guess not.
Jeeze,.... I was just at a page where some hump was all over Joey's "stuff". Does Joey owe him money or something ? Anyway, always good to hear and see Joey. Let's get Joey and Benson in a room together before it's too late,.... they would do such nasty things !
I always have preferred the thicker chorus on the Tonewheel organ from about 64 and up and up with more vibrato in the signal. But definitely adjustable with the editor.
$5,290.00 DOES NOT INCLUDE TAX OR SHIPPING..you get the keyboard you see there...no extras..no pedals..no switches..no nuthin...just that....I was going to order one..it's just too damn much..who can afford this shite anymore...honestly...just buy the single keyboard solo if that is even affordable...STILL, I WANT ONE REAL BAD!
Joey, i am real fan from you.You play so fantastic. But i dont miss really 9 contacts. I dont like the led line above the black keys. And the ultimate no go is the pitch bend on a hammond clone. If i need a wha, i can adjust it on my XK 5. Sorry
I agree. I have the legend and still have my 1956 B3 with the same year Leslie 122. The B3 is way thicker and screams. The viscount even through my Leslie is week especially in the upper octaves. Very thin.
So devastated to hear of his passing💔💔💔 I’ve been following him since he was a teenager. May he be playing with jimmy smith right now.. RIP Joey

and now I have this wonderful instrument (a soul 261) in my home studio - R.i.P Joey and thank you for your great work / collab with Viscount

R.I.P my brother It was great meeting you and jamming with you and getting to know you you will be sadly missed
"I'm not much of a demonstrator". Joey proceeds to demonstrate the heck out of the Legend.
Dear Joey, you left us a huge heritage about your masterclass in playing jazz organ. We’ll never forget you!

Great seeing Joey, great organ too, but really missing Dr.Lonnie right now. Listening to his CD's.
What an incredible musician!!! Let’s not forget his just as formidable on the trumpet….
and sax! RIP We lost him yesterday very sadly
The best demonstration of how 9 contacts works and sounds on UA-cam! 😳😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯🤯
😊😊 WHAT ABOTHER LEGEND MUSICIAN GONE....MR. JOEY DEFRANCESCO...RAYMOND 😊😊
That's a top notch fit - a legend playing the Legend 😀!
Quite a distance from the XB's we used to travel with when I was playing in your band.
An amazing instrument for sure.

That organ is killer....
Of course Joey's playing it
Joey De will be sadly missed. Outstanding musician and a nice warm person. May he Rest in Peace.
I had the same idea for separating the bass output, glad they did it! And the wah is awesome....!!!
Joey is the master on a wonderful intrument. The organ forever
Gotta love those big rocker switches.
Did he say Moog bass? Oh mama!
That claw technique is insanity.

That note near the end where he plays the bus bars made me shout out loud in my hotel room.

Thanks for the hint to Melvin Rhyne (not Rhyme). Brilliant Hammond player. Absolutely never heard of him before.
Joey is always good🙏👍🎹
absolute amazement.

Stellar performance; and great tones too!

7:54 fantastic playing - fast, but every note makes sense and so clean
Joey is incredible as is this organ! Nobody was wearing a mask there.

Oh, didn't know about the wah and other FX and sub-bass out. Cool!!
Why was the mono output lonely?
Because it was left out.

Are you guys gonna upload a formal review of this instrument?
Can those extra bass sounds be routed to the first two octaves of the lower manual?

Tony Monaco

SUPER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HERZLICHEN DANK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joey is sounding like Edgar Winter on this organ…So is this some kind of new B-3 prototype or what?…
Think they have to adjust the chorus C3 tune because its out of pitch you can tell.
It's a little on the heavy side but these organs come with an iOS editor which you can adjust that, and many other sound parameters.
I always have preferred the thicker chorus on the Tonewheel organ from about 64 and up and up with more vibrato in the signal. But definitely adjustable with the editor.
Sad to see such a great artist hawking equipment for a living.
legend Soul needs a better way to hide the cables up front......its very sloppy !!!!

Maybe some enterprising person could invent a microphone for him to use.
