I can see this guy as he was, he's still got the shadow of the high school kid kicking around with a bass. Time flows on, but the core of who we are is amazingly persistent. Feels true for both these guys.
Corey's sincerity shines through. You folks that live close enough to visit this store are lucky. Sounds like they would take care of a bass newbie. I only have the big chain store as a resource and am frequently disappointed at the level of service and poor set-ups of their new instruments.
I'm curious, does this musician EQ his basses at all (especially the "Mudbucker" pickup). What he says at 18:00 as well as the tone demo starting at 9:56 would seem to indicate the answer is possibly no. The discussion at 24:54 was interesting along the same lines. The interviewer did a good job. This was really an interesting interview.
I always have a preamp on my board and do some very slight eq’ing depending on the room and the rig I’m running through. I’ve found less is usually more with eq and being heard. Thanks for the comment!
Just met Cory a few weeks ago and have already done some repeat business.... great guy and great store! ☮❤🎶
