John's Sambar Stag

This video is of a hunt spread over a weekend for a trophy sambar stag for my good mate John Davies. John and his son Brock hadn't hunted sambar deer before and were keen to experience this style of hunting. Getting to a high vantage point and using binoculars to let your eyes do the walking was the way, that 19 sambar deer were sighted over two days. Passing up on three lesser stags resulted in John scoring a magnificent trophy sambar stag for his first one.
