Cagney and Lacey, Hill Street Blues, La Law, St. Elsewhere, Magnum, PI, Moonlighting etc. so many great one hour dramas came out at that time. Paved the way for a lot of these critically acclaimed and award winning dramas that's come out the past two decades.
Sharon played this woman brilliantly, very drunk, full of sadness, hopelessness and despair. The award was fully deserved. The whole series is something special. What the two leading actresses have shown in the series is unsurpassed so far
Best series of all time. Where else can you see such intense acting? It's a good thing that there was never a Cagney and Lacey remake with other actresses in 2018, the two cannot be replaced
Facts! Neither drama or comedy. Not since shows like The Closer, Burn Notice, Modern Family, The Middle etc. have we seen acting in either genre be on par with the best shows back in the day.
Hi! I love this show too! Greetings other Cagney and Lacey fans. I've been bingewatching and its so great to see these episodes after not having seen them since the 80's was my favourite show back then. Loveing this chanel love from Australia @birgitschuster3481
This is one of the best episodes on this show featuring the absolute art of these two women. Watching Sharon Gless portray a woman in pain of loss is like experiencing cut glass, excruciating to watch for anyone who experienced loss of a loved one. It draws you in and you forget you are watching a show, it is so universal, amazing talent.
Unfortunately, Christine developed into a drinker over a long period of time, and the death of her beloved father triggered her downfall. yes, and this one is really hard to bear@@anairenemartinez165
Christine as the daughter of a drinking Irishman; Charlie let her drink from his glass as a child; She also drank more and more often during the series and at every opportunity. It became a habit. And the death of her beloved father led to tragedy and her downfall. Very difficult to bear, terrible. Great Sharon Gless, she played it all so realistically
tough act to pull off to have all the movements coordinated of incoordination in every manner to be mindful of it all at once & constantly on top of that you're lines. Not just saying the lines the slurring of the words, be mindful still have to speak them well enough for the audience to understand-hear, have to be coordinated w/the movements every part of the body....make it believable. Back in the day.....scenes were a lot of times done all at once.....not spliced like they can do in these times. I agree w/many commentors....Sharon Gless deserved Actress of the Year along with an Emmy & whatever other awards possible. I was in Awe & Tyne Daly....another Actress that is incredibly talented, a Woman to be in Awe of. This is what has made Cagney & Lacy LEGENDARY...!!
They loved each other tremendously...not in the "intimate" way with like what MB had for Harvey, but they loved each other beyond anything...I think the most important person for Christine was Mary Beth (Charlie came right afterwards...). I'm not sure about the other way round but definitely MB was tremendously important to Christine (and MB loved Christine as well a little bit beyond "just friendship"...). They were like family, absolutely loyal to each other. They were meant to be straight characters I know but something romantic between them was there... definitely
Being an adult this show helped me make it through the 80s, it's sad that television was free then( cable was a choice not a dictatorship) and so many great shows were made which is NOT made these days!
He was her main support in life, no Mom, estranged from her brother, no true family. Lacey had family. Cagney felt truly alone for the first time and realized she wasn't as independent as she thought. She also couldn't deal with the fact that Charlie was no hero but a drunk who was responsible for his own demise and she was headed for the same fate.
What an episode. Christine Cagney experiences a complete crash due to her drinking after the death of her beloved father. And Marybeth catches her. Greatly played by Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly. Best acting. There is no such thing anymore today. The Emmy Award for Sharon was justified
Cagney and Lacey Tyne Daly , Sharon Gless holy spirit Gods bless you all clouds are too mostly Grandfather Heart Angel Angel policemans ❤🥃🥃💔💤🙏🙏👋 here's something so like these guys Clouds didn't know how much miss women Cagney and Lacey Tyne Daly , Sharon Gless where speaks love you Anabela l lives pary Gods may bless always be beilved and spirit Lord of peace. 😢😊❤😘😀
My father has been sober 30 years but behaves like a dry drunk and he won't even let me grieve my mommy who I cared for I have autism and he's never accepted me
Sharon most definitely deserved an Emmy for this episode. Simply fantastic. I've never seen better.
The best of the 80’s, a classic tv , they certainly don’t make them the way they used to anymore,
Brilliant acting. Absolutely brilliant.
wow, television at its best. No one makes stuff like this anymore.

Award winning episode! Sharon Gless won her 2nd Emmy for this one. Outstanding performance 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Excellent acting.
It's painful watching this, having had an alcoholic parent. Sharon Gless deserved the Emmy ...

I hope there is NEVER a remake. You know they would do it wrong.
Yes! Please God 🤲 never a remake!
thank you i loved this series .great acting .
I know it's cliche to say this, but there really aren't any tv shows now with this level of acting. It is SOOOOOO good.
das sehe ich genauso, viele Grüße aus Deutschland

Excellent acting all right but I simply don't buy getting so out of shape because her Dad died.

I really can’t think of a better TV actor.
I miss good TV shows 😢
Sharon Gless was amazing in this episode. She deserved that emmy.

I had never looked at it from the technical acting side, coordination etc.
Terrific episode.
Classic episode and Sharon Gless at her very best! But I gotta ask... where's part 1?
The only one that could handle Cagney was lacey
True 😂
Followed by Samuels ...

Christine had family, it was Lacey's family that she loves as MB said,
but it's never the same, even most of the time in real life

Diese Episoden Turn Turn Turn Part 1 + 2 sind Sternstunden im Fernsehen. Es wird nie etwas besseres geben
I need buy cagney and lacey on DVD tape love show
I've read bad reviews on the DVD full season, so I'm nervous to buy it.
Ich habe mir die Box von 2017 gekauft. Und die CD sind okay
I always admire Sharon Gless for this portrayal of the drunk and desperate Christine Cagney
classic just remember them now
Mary Beth saved Christine’s life by getting her into AA.
They saved each other multiple times. True love ❤❤
@@RaimM.-wj4gz yes, the Heat episode or the Breast Cancer episode was great
@@birgitschuster3481the love was great between them, especially I'd say Christine loved MB more than anything else...
@@RaimM.-wj4gz ich sehe das auch so
so, Cagney followed in the footsteps of her old man, including becoming a drunk, just like him. Hard to watch....
I’m not sure if the show would have been as good if Loretta Swit had been let out of her MASH contract to play Cagney full-time.
Thanks
You got the wrong season in the title, this is season 6 not 5
Why isn’t the first part available?
It is
Lightening in a bottle
description says MEG fOSTER? what the heck...this is not the first season first few episodes...are you really MGM
By any chance, anyone know what the recording was Cagney was listening to at Charlie's place??
It’s Glenn Miller, I think the song is somewhere beyond the sea
Where can I find Part 1 of the episode "Turn, Turn, Turn?" Much appreciated.
Auf der Plattform DailyMotion in deutscher Sprache
The Christine charactor does show what drunkenness is, and how bad it can be and is. It is a disease but can be tamed.

Das tut mir sehr leid
These , TWO !” COPS Could Show , Alvin Bragg !” 👮👮 - HOW IT IS DONE ….!”
They'd both be slamming scotch on the job these days
Hate this episode
Das kann ich verstehen, obwohl ich die Serie liebe. Es war grausam, Christine so abstürzen zu sehen
Sorry,I don't buy a strong will person bets so lut of shape because her Dad dies.
her life was falling apart already.because of her alcoholism.
Not a big fan of Gag-me and Mace-me.
