The problem with this rhythm game is that it's TOO DAMN LONG FOR HOW FAST IT IS.
In Megamix, with tempo up, its nearly impossible

Fun fact: The song from Rhythm Rally (This game's prequel) is in a different key. But not only it's in a different key, the key of both song are a tritone appart, which is know as "the devil's interval" in the rennaisance era, because it's so dissonant! Try playing both songs at the same time.

That’s exactly what happened to me! I just perfected it right now. Not only is this one the last one for this particular game, but it’s also my last one to get a perfect for the entire series! I have now perfected every mini game in the entire series
This and Moai Doo-Wop 2 are the dominators of my sanity.

Oh boy, this song - as good as it is - still raises my blood pressure an alarming amount. The sound of the Perfect breaking is forever seared into my brain. This is also the exact moment where my opinion on the flick changed from "this is a cool way to increase immersion!" to "what the f*** were the developers thinking??"
THIS RIGHT HERE. mann i swear it’s only this specific game and the remix including it that made me want to cry like. all my flick inputs started turning into ‘holds’ or like ‘just touching the screen’ somehow and i’m so glad i’m not all perfecting everything bc i think i’ll go insane trying to
ikr, for stomp farmer, rhythm rally 1&2, and all the other games where you repeatedly flick, the stylus just wouldn't work for me and the only way i got a superb on those games was by using my finger, and at that point, just give up

Rhythm Rally 3, the volume is faint then loud at some points, very distracting objects appear, and you play as both of them.

Lmao you're right. It's much easier because you're basically doing the same thing over and over, and the Dog Ninja part doesn't really count because it's just the same tempo and beat as the Rhythm Rally part. You're not switching rhythms a lot in that one
My Review:
I like this level for what it is. It's fun, SUPER hard, definitely not for the faint of heart. The camera work is really offputting and makes for a challenge, but never a frustrating one. The intensity always cranks up when you hear those 8 cowbells!

Although, this was one of the three levels I absolutely couldn't get a Perfect on. I hate it for that.
in megamix, you can use buttons and theres no flicking about it, i got perfect on only megamix on this one
I've only played Fever and Megamix, and this on Megamix was hard enough for me. So I can't imagine what's it like doing this on a touch screen

I counted 97 swipes. You need to hit the ball almost 100 times in a row perfectly to get a perfect achievment for this. That's one achievement I think I can do without.

I got all 50 Perfects today. This was the last one. I found this level TWICE as hard as any other level.
I also found getting all Perfects in this TWICE as hard as any other game I've beaten, and I beat Crisis Core on Hard, Etrian Odyssey, Resident Evil 4 on Pro, and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

The developers of this game really looked at Rhythm Rally and thought “yeah we can make a sequel that’s *faster* and LONGER”
MAJOR respect for you dude. This game is SO FRICKIN HARD to get a perfect on. It's just too long for what it is!! There's times that you're doing the 1, 2, 1, 2 thing for a long time, and naturally you're going to get screwed up after a while. But contrary to everyone else, I actually like this one lol. Despite it being hard, I just think it's cool and very well done :D

This game is one of the games where if I mess up several times, my brain attempts to explode itself because it has no idea what to do. Within that moment all I see is several bounces headed straight past me or to the side. When I recover, I have to quit, because I already lost. This was one of the few games I had to skip.
This is like the kind of game that no matter if it's life or death,you can't restart for shit because of fear of having to try this shit again. THE HARDEST RHYTHM HELLHOLE EVER!!!!

I usually consider the last mini-game I perfect the hardest in that particular game. For Megamix it was Karate Man Sr.; for Fever it was Working Dough; and Rhythm Rally 2 was the mini-game I had the hardest time perfecting in Rhythm Heaven. It was made much easier with Cosmic Rally in Megamix because you didn’t have to flick.
Rockers 2 wasn't my last perfect in this game, THIS WAS!!

Ah yes, Panic attack. The game taunted me so much by giving me perfect chances on this more than any other game.
If anyone's trying to play along, the normal hits are counts 2 and 4, slow ones are on count 3, and the fast ones are on the and of when he hits.

Yeah. But I think I will have a harder time with Rhythm Rally 2. So far only that, Moai 2, Remix 8 and Remix 10 remain. Rhythm Rally 2 will probably be the last one I perfect. The cool thing is that after playing Rhythm Heaven Feaver (perfect on each game) I had a lot less trouble with some of the games in this one. When I went back to my old save file with ten perfects still missing I got the first five ones with relative ease. Fillbots 2 took me some tries, but I did that, too.
The only reason Im not redoing a Perfect run in Rhythm Heaven on my DS is this one. I think I can beat any other game but this one, I have no idea of how I Perfected it and I have enough selfsteem to not make me do this.
it's a damn shame this one's so hard; its got one of the best song remixes in the game, and I loved the idea of the visual trickery by rotating the screen.

I remember how traumatic it was to get a perfect in this in Rhythm Paradise. Now Megamix is out in Europe AND THEY ACTUALLY BROUGHT THIS GAME BACK, WAAAAH! It's not as bad as the original, since button controls do help a bit, but it's a game where it's easy as hell to screw up.
I remember this being my last prefect to get, and I was really trolled be the game. Then one day, I finally did this and I kept screaming "YESSS!!!!" and "I DID IT!!!"
After about one hundred and fifteen tries, the last game to perfect stays unperfected.
I looked it up to see if anybody else shared my pain.
I am relieved.
I tried to get a Superb on this, I eventually settled for an OK. *THEN COSMIC RHYTHM RALLY ON MEGAMIX HAPPENED*
and even tempo up! super easy!

It's funny: when I first played this game, perfecting Rhythm Rally 2 took me probably 150 tries over the course of a few days. Yet when I went back to it for fun the other night, I "perfected" it on my first try.

Plot twist: the ufo is really big and so are the planets it’s just that the paddlers are 1000 times the size of a screwbot.

if only this game was released later in the ds life span. then they wouldn't have made the dumb decision to make swipe controls. because this game is so easy in megamix because it doesn't have touch controls.
But why would you want a game where it's easy to beat with no challenge? The swipe controls just add extra intensity (I guess) which they took out in Megamix, and as you said, it made Rhythm Rally 2 easy and lose its charm
I'd say the reason is because admittedly, Flicking isn't the most reliable touch screen method which is why I imagine they didn't really bring it back. And besides, just because there's button controls doesn't mean it took away from Cosmic Rhythm Rally. In fact, it actually provided a fair challenge in my opinion since it was alot more responsive to tap "A" then to try and flick in time with the music on such a fast tempo. And It DEFINETLY didn't make Cosmic Rhythm Rally much easier. It's still pretty intense trying to go for perfect on it.
+Rhythm Audino Flicking is just as reliable as tapping if you can get good at it, but it's difficult for most people to move the stylus quick enough to time it well
Even when I was 6-8 I was still frustrated about THIS MINIGAME
