I could throw very hard as a young man but had very little control , at least when it came to pitching. I played 3rd base at high school, American Legion ball and Frontier League til I was 23. I finally got offered a job making far more money than I could have made playing ball but I sure missed it. I was in awe of pitchers who could hit the spots . I played with a guy named Andy Benes who eventually made the big leagues.

As a former pitcher in AAA baseball, and life long baseball fan, I must say, I disagree with most of this. Do you want to be a great pitcher ? Throw, throw, throw. I used to pitch nothing but fastballs for hours at a time. Never did my shoulder or arm ever hurt. Forget all this gunk - practice, practice, practice, whatever position you desire to play.

A slider is a fast ball that breaks very little - 1" to 2"

the problem since the 90s. Too many fucking coaches trying to make a living. These players are so overcoached and confused at what they should be doing, they re ruining their arms. Just get on the fucking mound and throw, old school, you pussies

The art of pitching is repetition at doing the right mechanics
