I only have their socks, specifically, 5 pairs of calf length and 5 pairs of "no shows" for the summer. They are the BEST socks I have ever worn. Ever. I don't even wear my SmartWool socks anymore. I don't need this many pairs because you can wear a pair for a week without them smelling or seeming icky (unless you walk barefoot into chocolate fudge or something). Last year I gave them to every member of my extended family for Christmas and said, "I'm just going to say you are welcome now because you are going to thank me later." I have absolutely no relationships to the company whatsoever. Get some Paka socks.!
Good afternoon Brad! Can honestly say we have never hear off Paka, so thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with us! We to use baselayers, so always interesting to hear and see new ideas! 💡 🦙❤️ Polar bear under armour is a few years off being marketable 🐻❄ Totally agree about the importance of odour resistance too, getting hot, sweaty and smelly on a treck is the pits! 😷 Interested so see how these items fair over time, should be good and durable but is it as tough as the Crow! The hoodie sounds great, wow! Passion and connection to the surroundings and animals that go into making the things we use and wear is so important and should be championed more 🏆 Really through video, thoughts and feedback, thanks Brad, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat 🧭❤️🗺☕️🧭👍
Thanks Ceri and Kat!!! Tough as crow…😂… it only has to be tough as cellophane for that…😂😂😂✌️. Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, this stuff is great. I really like it and the company is really trying to do the right thing with environmental issues and helping the Peruvian people. Appreciate you guys. Crow✌️
Thanks for highlighting PAKA! I love their hoodie and you are so right! It is light, warm and odor free! Their sox are great too. And it is wonderful to support a great company like this. Thanks for your review. I'm going to get the base layer now!
I am super impressed…I was impressed shy their mission statement and videos about how they support the people in Peru as well. Thanks for watching Justin! Crow✌️
Sorry, I can’t make the comparison. I have some merino wool socks a while back. But, I lost them…😂. All I can say is I absolutely love this base layer. My next purchase will be the hoodie. I love this company’s back story with the Peruvian people. Thanks for watching it. Crow✌️
I received merino wool base layers of a good brand today and it's a bit itchy although it's 18,5 micron. I'm disappointed to be honest. Does Alpaca feel softer than merino, have you noticed that?
In my opinion, yes! I wondered why at first does Paca use a blend, instead of 100% Alpaca…now I know…this stuff is very soft and they say you don’t need an under shirt with the Paca hoodie…I agree…it doesn’t. Paca is great to me…I can only give my humble opinion, but, I love the base layer and the hoodie. I did a review of hoodie too in my winter gear. They have a great product. Crow✌️
I first got onto these guys by buying a Hoodie through their Kickstarter back in 2017 (yeah, I looked). Their heavier sock is better in my opinion than what they sent you. Also, their T-shirts (which I think are around $39) are awesome in the Summertime. I do think most all of their stuff is blended. I highly recommend their hoody. If you don't want blended - Appalachian Gear Company (I think) are 100% Alpaca and are local for me. First stumbled into them @ Trail Days in 2019. But they are also a tad more pricey. I recommend and support them both.
I looked at this company when I was looking at the OTHER Alpaca Gear company. The Tencel fiber is a turn off for me. That is why I do not like smart wool also. Get too close to a fire and that very expensive shirt is toast. 100% wool and 100% alpaca are fire resistive. Paka is not because of the Tencel fiber.

I had no idea ppl could even use Alpaca fur for these things or even that it was popular. Great idea for a sustainable product for sure!
Appreciate it! Yeah, this is. Now the craze for warmth in backpacking. Appreciate you watching. Crow✌️
There is never too much information out there about socks!! Nice review!

Seems like an awesome company Crow! Thanks for the info!
Very nice looking base layer shirt & socks. I do love my alpaca hoodie material. Have a great time in Utah. 🦙 🦙 👍
Thanks Tom! I hope I can finish the trip…a little outside my comfort zone…😬🤟🏻
An amazing presentation... Wishing you more and more success... Thumbs up 👍❣️

Great information and looks like beautiful and warm clothing. ❤️
Love the idea of it! The use of natural fibers and such.... I need a higher paying job though!!
Their Paca hoodie is awesome as well. I love the fit and feel!
Yeah, that is my next purchase! Great looking hoodie. Crow✌️

Sounds like great products, great review, brother 😁✌️
As an Ag teacher, I check out a lot of agritourism arms and there are TONS of alpaca farms, all across the country that offer tours.
Cool! Yeah, I may need to get into this business. It seems very lucrative! Crow✌️
Thanks for another great review. Now I can be sure alpaca da right gear! 😉. God bless. 🙂👍🏻🙏🏻
Nice! Love it. Well said my friend. Thanks Ian! Crow✌️
Should be getting my Paka order tomorrow. Looking forward to it for fall and winter layering

How does it compare to merino wool? I've been using a merino wool hoodie for the last 9 months and love it. Good job explaining the benefits.

that's unfortunate they don't make 100% alpaca clothing
I'm not sure why they have a blend. I haven't asked them. But, they are incredibly comfortable.
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING It’s most likely for strength and durability.

Thanks my friend! Crow✌️
They should move that shoulder seam forward so it’s not where your pack straps sit , other than that it looks nice.
That is an excellent suggestion! Thanks for watching it. Crow✌️
Do you know if they are machine washable? How do you wash your alpaca wool clothing?
I have washed mine. It doesn’t have to be washed much. Crow✌️

😂✌️… Yep, this is some great stuff. Appreciate ya! Crow✌️
I thought you would be out there shaving those polar bears for a new base layer. 🤣 Seriously, this looks nice.
Appreciate it Dan! Yeah, I don’t think we can get the polar bear wool…might loose some fingers or arms…😂✌️

Looks sharp! Does it have a funky alpaca smell when it gets wet?
Hmmm…not sure. But, hard to distinct from my smell. 😂✌️
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING I’ve got the Appalachian Gear Co hoodie and let’s just say it has a “earthy” and slightly “gamey” smell. It’s organic right?

For your comment. I didn’t know that about the synthetic fiber. Thanks for watching. Crow✌️
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING I was wrong. Tencel is a cellulose-based fabric, and can burn like paper.
So I would still be very cautious around fire.
