A brief guide:
Destroying those crystals can give you various effects. Some of them turn into a tile, and some of them give you the core, while some of them give you buffs like increasing wave interval/coins generation.
Note: those light/dark yellow crystals provide a lot of coins when being destroyed. Using thunder to kill them will give you tons of extra coins. Also, Gauss' third ability is able to buff crystals.
Another thing is that white crystal are very strong and they can boost your mdps, by using Gauss to shoot them. Then it will be easy to survive 7 Overloads.

I'm worried this level is going to make me lose interest in the game. Everything before seemed to have enough skill involved to be able to clear but this seems especially resource grind reliant to be able to have the passive aoe to clear the diamonds/crystals

If your research is too bad, you can just cheese the level in easy mode. Otherwise obviously the levels are getting harder and harder, you cant expect them to be possible with very few researches. It's still possible with low research if you have the skill

@@sprylos you say that but I have done a LOT of research and only being allowed 1 real solution seems stupid. I don't have end-game research but seeing as I haver most of thje stars going from normal 2-3 star completion to not even getting 1 star is kinda ridiculous.

@@RamesGamesLC I honestly completely disagree with you. I see this as a clear example for "my one strat doesn’t work everywhere, game too hard". You have to play differently and search for the best way to clear crystals very early, or just play on easy mode. Now obviously this level causes you to prioritize AoE early game so it is clear that there is less options to go early, but there definitely is way more than one option. For example i could literally get 3 stars by just placing blasts, tesla and splash early game and get extra stuff later. There is many options. People seem to get caught off guard once a level has some uniqueness in it and then they start hating on it🤷

why use nuke? coudlnt another aoe kill all enemys too without the score downside?

That is because firestorm can't damage healer. And healer can heal other enemies when using firestorm.

@@evelyntalunay9557 play on easy, towers will keep attacking the crystals when you don't call the wave, what i do is place 1 tower, then do only 1 wave, then set up my defense while all the crystals get destroyed, hope that helps
