What a beautiful song! I love Florence and the Machines so much! I would like for this to be my theme song! Play this at my funeral!!
Love playing it on bass,it took some practice there bass player has a unique way of playing especially on this song haha.....my only problem is I cant tell if the songs about suicide or homicide? I mean the lyrics are all laying where the ships are left to rust, lay them down let the only sound be the over flow pockets filled with stones lay them down, so someones been drowned to death lol.
@@brandonh5201 wow, I forgot about what I commented 😅. So from what I heard of the song is probably based on Virginia Woolf, a writer of the 20th century who committed suicide by drowning. It was, I think, at the beginning of WWII and it didn't help she suffered from depression. I know that she filled her pocket with rocks and walked to the river to drown. Yeah... oh and the title is based of a Frida Kahlo painting by the same name.

@pzm87 I would start learning basic theory and listening to lots and lots of music. It takes a lot of time to learn anything by ear and tons of practice. The next time you listen to a song, instead of listening to the words listen to the rhythm, the beats and each note to see how it's played. You'll get better over time :)

i apologize for my ignorance but i must ask, how can someone play like that? classes? self taught? Im trying to learn by myself(because I cant afford classes), and well youtube has been somewhat helpful, I bet I can learn how to play the same song like her(video owner) but it does not mean I know how to play piano, just mimicking, any tips as what needs to be learned as to be able to play any song by hearing?
