I loved the reviews especially the backpack. When I travel for work I am gone for 2-3 months at a time and moving around to different places. I’ve found the right backpack is the foundation of it all. Thanks for the thorough review of each product and showing its use
Another banger video, I’m STAGGERED at the capability of the drone, almost seems worth it for just a regular family holiday to take great videos/pictures, never mind for vloggers and such. The trousers seem like a fantastic option for travelling, they’re always one of the bulkiest items to pack normally.
My 1-2 combo was my 10 liter field backpack and my 20 liter samsonite messenger bag. As a mobile tech those 2 allowed me to carry my things and have the ability to stuff them with as much or as little I needed without needing to check luggage
Jon I have a little challenge/ video idea. What about EDC gear (clothes, backpack, tools and such.) that is all British made? I bet there is many small companies in every county. I love to support As many British companies as possible.
I have to admit I am always waiting on Jon's videos & interesting Newest gear, or gadget's which give me ideas for gifts for my adult children (or them to get me!)
Jon, this might have changed now but when I bought some Irontide Shorts, they didn’t offer returns from the UK. Might be worth mentioning if still the case. Great vids as always. Thanks
Hi, Jon ! I'd love to hear any ideas on how to make an unbearably long plane trip easier. Perhaps gadgets for the head, neck, legs, some entertainment gadgets when your eyes already sore from the phone screen? I travel to Southeast Asia pretty frequently and the 9-10 hour flight is simply unbearable in a cramped plane. Cheers !
Fantastic video that Jon, really enjoyed all that organisation in the backpack and the demonstration of all those features. They look to be very well made and durable, robust. Thank you, Jon. Bless you my friend !🤗☺️❤️🖖✌️ 🙏
Wow Jon!!! I just want it all. Including the holiday! Thanks for sharing. That drone looks ace. In addition. I don't like admin pockets. But brave of you to take your phone out swimming I'd be worried that seal would breach especially after a few washes. Would love to get your POV on barefoot shoes.
Those zip pockets on the backpack belt are a pickpocket's dream. Absolutely would not put phone and passport in them. Not even in the airport: don't breed bad habits that you may forget to break, later.
One small note John, the HoverAir X1 isn't exempt from operator registration in the UK. You'll still have to pay the £13 tax every year for the CAA to keep their database entry going. I often wonder if you left used year's reg would they still be able to trace you ...and if they can why do you have to keep paying them to update it every year! :P
Jon - as a general question (from someone who hasn't travelled much personally), the open pockets and zips on this thing especially when it's on your back: how do you avoid being pickpocketed in the street or on trains, etc.? I was told to avoid anything with open side-pockets so I've carefully selected bags and luggage to avoid this availability but this bag seems to have quite a few of them. How do you manage that? I saw you had keys of some sort in that upper pocket...
I have a jakaari m, I hadn’t heard about the kahakka till this comment. Can i send my wife to you when she’s angrily asking me why I’ve bought yet another bag? 😂😂😂
Love the travel videos, although I'm surprised you went with the Tortuga, seeing as you didn't use the 'admin' pocket, or the laptop/tablet sleeve. But all good 👍
Thanks for the video. Unfortunately, as seems common with your videos, the website links get blocked by my browsers anti-tracking extension and the Amazon links don't work.
Hi John, how did you purchase the Vessi footwear was I’ve tried ordering a pair of the high tops & keep getting told no shipping available. Do they only ship within the US? How does the size compare? Did you get larger?
I wish Vessi shipped to the UK. (Don't really trust the resellers.) I have two pairs of their weekend shoes, and they're great, but had to get them via a friend in the US. The UK climate is PERFECT for their value proposition, I don't understand. They ship from Canada to New Zealand no problem.
How does merino wool hold up? We’re currently on a looooong trip. Almost two years in a month and some change and quality clothing is hard to come by in many of the places we’ve spent time exploring. It would be nice to find some pants that hold up well and shirts that don’t fade. Merino looks like an awesome option but I’m a little worried that it’ll be done for in less than 6-8 months.
New subscriber here. Feel like I agree with all your choices, esp the reasoning behind them. Some stuff was new to me and I'll have to look at buying at least some of that kit
Hi Jon, great video as always! Do you have cheaper alternatives for the trousers? I've been looking for some good trousers for the summer (I live in Spain) and the ones in your video caught my eye but I can't afford to spend that much on one pair of trousers. Thank you!
Can I ask how you feel about out travelling with your watch? I used to wear my Rolex a lot more when I traveled, not everywhere, but a lot more. Lately I’ve found that I feel less safe wearing it when I’m away, tbh I’ve not worn it when I travel since all the lockdowns. I wonder if it’s all in my head and the press coverage about watches getting snatched has affected my thoughts.
Hi Jon just thought if your portable charger for your phone breaks or will not charge your phone what do you do solar charger you cam get compact for your back pack something you can review
I am interested in the fact that most of your clothes are from Unbound Merino. Have you tried Western Rise? If so, how do they compare? Thanks! Great video!
I know that in England you are not allowed to carry large knives in public. but are you still allowed to purchase knives of any size and collect them at home? for example large survival knives and machetes etc. greetings from Germany
There's a difference here between knives that are illegal to own and ones that are illegal public carry without good reason (that's the simple version). Eg you can buy a large kitchen kitchen knife at a supermarket and take it home in it's packaging (preferably in a bag). But if you unpack it and carry it home in plain sight that's another story.
I really wanted and tried to order this backpack for my Sept trip back to UK from Asia. All too hard. US delivery only, no retail sales and need to engage a freight forwarder if you want one. Too much faff. Love your work Jon but maybe you should flag up these frustrating limitations when you recommend these goods?
Very nice! 👍👍👍. I appreciate the actual use case demonstration of products and methods, thank you. My Drill Instructor taught me that _itches wear pants, men wear trousers! 🤣😂🤣😂
Do you EVER talk about anything but the gear? How about a video on the philosophy of EDC or what's good or bad about the EDC community? Or maybe why we carry what we carry? However these types of videos won't generate views, subscribers or sponsors. Another EDC channel sold out to corporate commercialism.
Took ur suggestion on Airbird sneaker type shoes. Very Uncomfortable for ,,$99.0. Absolutely junk and disappointed. Can't wear it without sockes and it can't be worn if a bit of rain.

good idea, has been suggested before too so will put it on the list 👍
I'd love this
That drone was really the star of the show. Amazing capabilities, looking forward to see how you use it 🤓
I LOVE Vessi Shoes! I have 2 pairs and love all they can do!
I have to admit I am always waiting on Jon's videos & interesting Newest gear, or gadget's which give me ideas for gifts for my adult children (or them to get me!)
Thanks Jon for this review, I have used your link to try these Irontide v.20 Hybrid Shorts😊
That's a neat bag. Hand luggage only travel is impossible for me, but I would definitely rock that otherwise.
Jon, this might have changed now but when I bought some Irontide Shorts, they didn’t offer returns from the UK. Might be worth mentioning if still the case. Great vids as always. Thanks
For high tech clothing you might want to look at Ministry Of Supply. They have pretty neat textile technology and it looks dressed up
I love to save these videos for my lazy Sunday morning in bed with a brew - thanks Jon 😀😀
I'm not really into drones, but that one is really impressive.

the fidlock pocket is super secure. not tried barefoot shoes yet!
Very nice! More stuff for me to spend money on! :) All that stuff looks like great value though. Love that drone!
A nice back pack ! a good way to travel !
Another great and useful Vid Jon -- thanks
Those zip pockets on the backpack belt are a pickpocket's dream. Absolutely would not put phone and passport in them. Not even in the airport: don't breed bad habits that you may forget to break, later.
I got a pair a of vessi a year ago and they are my everyday shoe when I don't need steel toe
Great Video Jon I ordered the lowtop Vessi's I have been looking for a waterproof pair and I think these should fit the bill.
they work well 👍 no issues so far

Some nice gear there Jon. As always, you've given me a few ideas. Cheers 👋
Good to hear
Useful reviews of interesting items, cheers Jon
That drone looks pretty cool. 😮

You should test the Savotta Kahakka backpacks and tell us if they're useful for edc

I like your hat (cap). Do you have any links, reviews etc re travel caps/hats etc? Thanks.
Great video. What trousers were you wearing when you were demonstrating the mini drone? They looked a different colour to those in your video??
main trousers for trip were CP Company Combats - expensive but very nice - aim to get a third off in sale! Travel trousers are for back up.
Thanks for this review Jon! What are the trousers you're wearing at 17:37? They're not the Unbound Merino ones are they?
I loved this!! could you please please review the PAKT Travel bag 2.0!! please would love to see you review it!
Love the travel videos, although I'm surprised you went with the Tortuga, seeing as you didn't use the 'admin' pocket, or the laptop/tablet sleeve. But all good 👍
it’s really well reviewed and wanted to find out why - I prefer the Ablecarry Max so far for the reasons you mentioned
Thanks for the video.

Those belt pouchs are super smart
nice idea

Jon, what's that hat you're wearing. I'm bald and looking for something that looks right on me. I love how it looks.
it’s a Kangol 507 👍
@@JonGadget A thousand thank yous, sir. Have a great weekend.
Does the drone only work with auto flight modes or is it fully user controllable in flight from the app too? Thanks!

I’m aware of them but not tried them - I will check them out 👍
Just wonder where did you get your hat? Try to get one for myself. Thanks
It’s been featured in a previous video a few months ago
Jon , great videos thanks! Do you have a backpack winner?
Hi John. You haven’t put any prices on any of these great items ? 🎉🎉🎉😊
What would you recommend for charging your devices in other countries? I am from the USA, and my current adapter has an incredibly irritating buzz.
Imagine thinking that travelling with hand luggage only is a flex. 😆
I ordered my irontide pants with the discount. hope not too much import taxes.
Hi Jon, what brand was the other trousers you was walking around in the rain??
Hi Jon. What was your experience traveling with the Gerber Shard? I noticed it's gone from some of your kits
Cool video and informative. Thank god no 🔦 flashlight this time..😅😅
we do get a lot of lights here 😳
No links for the Irontide shorts in your description????
That drone is way cool. A bit pricey for this non-content maker though.
Not cheap but it is good 👍

Nice watch Jon what make is it?

Wow! What's the ballpark price tag for all that travel bling?
Jon, how to purchase Vessi shoes in Europe? When visiting their website it’s limited to USA ans a few Asia Pacific countries 😢

I want that drone! I'm so mad I even watched this video. Lol
Are you able to use the drone in Thailand?
Can the follow height of the Hoverair be set in the app?
Very nice! 👍👍👍. I appreciate the actual use case demonstration of products and methods, thank you. My Drill Instructor taught me that _itches wear pants, men wear trousers! 🤣😂🤣😂
🤣
The HoverAir X1 camera link isn’t working either

thank Q
Any prices
Vessi don’t ship to the U.K.?
Can't stand merino. Whatever you do the moths will make holes in them unless you use stinky mothballs. It also weighs a ton when wet.
Is that a Rolex? Thoughts on traveling with a nice watch?
Don’t.
can be risky - but life is short
Dont risky in Türkiye
@JonGadget super short if the wrong person wants your watch! Unless I suppose you just resolve to give it up without a fight.
vessi does the pride rainbow thing. are you a skittles guy as well?
