The 'Captain Keyes' line is my favourite line out of all of Halo. I think it's just how Steve Downes delivers the line. It's spoken as though it's an internal though in John Halo's head, almost like he's just been frozen in cryo for years and has woken up totally out of it, ran to the bridge under alien fire and has to speak for the first time. Brilliant moment, and I laugh out loud every time I hear it. Every line in this game is memorable.
My favourite line from Chief in the early game is either "No thanks to your driving, yes." Or "Don't get any funny ideas". The latter due to the delivery.
1:28 I know I’m probably the only one who almost shed a tear at this part but I don’t care. When he pauses and than says “Earth” just made the whole war personal for me at that moment.
Imagine waking up from years of cryosleep, with your ship under attack from a covenant armada, and the first thing you have to say after several minutes of running through chaos is “Captain Keyes”
After all these years, I still can't tell whether he says "hard transfer" or "heart transfer". The first sounds like it's technically correct - her chip is being pulled literally from the computer - but the second one sounds like it makes poetic sense
20 years later (our times, 8 years in the Halo universe): ???: Who was that? Chief: Capt. Jacob Keyes. _The Pillar of Autumn_ was his ship. ???: What happened to him? Chief: He's gone. Lost on the first ring we found.
Imagine... being a pinnacle of cybernetic engineering, going through grueling process of becoming a Sparta and having a desperate mission assigned to you - capturing one of the Prophets and use him as hostage in cease fire negotiations... only to end up with Rich lost, Autumn stuck in the middle of bumblefuck nowhere and you being as far from your target as possible. No wonder he say's so little...
So I just played Reach recently, and now there’s something I don’t get about this scene. If Cortana was just made a few days ago on Reach with Forerunner AI tech or whatever, then how do she and Master Chief know each other?
It’s not shown in the games but explored further in Halo universe books. They had met prior to the fall of Reach while Chief was in Spartan training. Cortana existed prior to Noble Team taking her to Keyes and the PoA
@@sann6346 okay that makes more sense. But what was she doing on reach, like what was going on in that underground lab with Dr. Halsey? I had the impression she was created there.
"Captain Keees!"
Evergreen Words, Chief. Evergreen.
its Keyes.
The way he says it, even after all these years, still sticks in my mind. Such a memorable voice
"Hmmm, your architecture isn't much different from the Autumn's...""Don't get any funny ideas."
Plot twist SHE GETS FUNNY IDEAS!

"Cracking Knees"
"Good to see you fast relief"
The music is the sole reason this is my favorite cutscene in the entire series
There’s something about the original cutscene that is beautiful
no thanks to your driving, *yeth*

Lol it wasnt years, it was a few days after the destruction of reach.
@@miniaturejayhawk8702 sorry I’m not a nerd
1:19 I love how they added that line in Halo Infinite
"Good Luck Master Chief"

Captain keeeeeeeeeeees
So how many of us are there?
If one Halcyon cruiser can take down 4 Covenant battleships solo, maybe humanity was really the more technologically superior all along
Why halo ce has Better graphics than Halo 2
