- Throwback to 2016!
Buying a 1985 R80RT and converting it into a scrambler.
I made lots of daytrips and some longer journeys as well.
In 2017 I sold it and bought a Ducati Scrambler, but the charm of that old boxer engine is something.
2020 edit: I just bought a new R80 project bike, check out the series of videos of the build! - Розваги

Nice job buddy
I must have watched this video at least 50 times now. Such a beautiful build. Real shame you sold it.
Thanks! I'm seriously thinking about a new build next winter...
@@ThomasC Sure hope you record it if you do :) I'm subscribed and ready! I've just bought a BMW motorbike having taken a lot of inspiration from your video actually. A K75, the price of the R80's seems quite substantially higher. I think the only thing that lets the K75 down is the tank. Not sure how easy/hard that is to change but I haven't seen many examples of K75 with different tanks. Not sure what I've got myself in for here. Thanks for the reply. Seriously great video. Thanks Jim
That thing is awesome!
good job and beautyful bike!
Fantastic, thanks for sharing what you did!
Thanks for subscribing!
Awesome work!
Nice ! well done.
Very nice build. Tank color indeed a lot better than gold option. Think the bike would look awesome if you’d replace all the chrome parts for mat black ones. Still a great bike though. 👍🏼
I think it would look cheap 🤔
Possibly
Fantastic job
Nice job 👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks!
I loove that bike!!

Realy Nice Video !
Good job!)
She's a beauty!
Красивый Мотик получился, ничего лишнего!
You did it!
Hi! Amazing job! Was it difficult to register all the changes in technical inspection service?
Bet you had more of an attachment with the bike you styled and worked on than the other one you bought, apart from the engine configuration,, you get a sense of purpose and especially since you did a few long trips,, before you sold it,, looking forward to the next build 👌👌👌
Next build is on the way, probably on the road next week! Check out my recent videos for the build!
@@ThomasC OHHHH MY GOD - you did this to the bike????? Shame on you!
Greetings from Poland ✌️
Nice one
brilliant!!!!
Really good job, looks amazing! Lemme know when you don’t like it anymore :D
Sold it a year ago, sorry man! :)
Stock r80rt’s will be worth money one day because of the popularity of these types of builds.
Espectacular
Best video :D :D
Hey Thomas, really nice🤙 How much were the new Parts?
Beautiful! The only thing I would change is the back suspension, which looks somehow small or flimsy for a rather bulky bike. Great job!
eliade66 I replaced it with a YSS spring, but in a later stage. In the video of my Luxembourg trip you should be able to see it. It made a ton of difference!
Yeah, I could sense it in some instants of your Luxembourg trip video. It indeed makes a good difference!
I was also impressed with your fire starting technique! You should patent it! :))
Drive safe and beware to the sand on the way when steering! :))
just, nice!
Man, that bike was already "ugly" beautiful when you bought it, but now it's really gorgeous! Great work! Original suspension setup is adequate for light scramble like offroad?
Thanks! Rear shock was replaced and forks got new oil, the ride got a bit stiffer and better in the corners. Off-road was okay :-)
LINDA MOTO, SHOW.
Very nice
Really cool Scram! I'm inspired by your bike. What's your max.speed on this bike?
I've been thinking of doing same to mine, same year but in Colorado red, what kind of handlebars are you running ? Looks Sharp ! ! !
Will this build/style be possible for the newer R1150 or R1200? It has the paralever suspension which I don't know if it will look fine with a classic scrambler/cafe racer look. I suppose replacing the existing gas tank will be part of it.
Magnifique beau travail
how much did you spend on this project total?
Looks great. Question: do you feel 'anyone can do it' or do you need a degree in engineer to pull something like this off?
Looks awesome, where did you get the subframe from?
UA-cam needs a "love" button ❤️
More video please 👏
Hey, really cool video of your build. Great to also see it being used after for some great trips. Inspiring to do the same myself this summer when my projects road worthy. Quick question, what exhausts mufflers did you go for? They look like megaphones, which I have tried and were silly noisy. Thanks Olie
They are cheap megaphones but with damping wool and db-killers installed.
Great job , which exhaust are you using, thanks
Awesome build - how is the Ducati Scrambler as your next bike?
And I was wondering: which helmet and jacket do you have!?
