Everyone who is either getting into or active in bodybuilding, should take the time figure out what THEIR body's metabolism / meal-frequency is through journaling their workouts and their nutrition intake. By journaling, you can easily see the trends over time! Back in my day (early to mid-1990's), it took me about six months of journaling to figure out that I needed 6 meals a day for most workout cycles with an increase to 7 during bulk phases.
The strangest darn thing ever is Im in the upper part of MI right across lake Huron, Snowmobiling years ago was big here! But no more! We just don't get snow anymore! Not enough to own a snowmobile. Moving into the strange world of quantum physics, Crazy as it sounds time is definitely speeding up!

You’re right Jay, oatmeal does tend to set on your stomach longer because I feel it’s because it’s sort of fatty so it’s healthy fats but still it has a decent amount of fat in there to slow the digestion down some.
Stealing is one of the reasons, but I believe it’s cuz of inflation. Prices and costs keep going up in California. Everything going up but minimum wage, or not enough income for low paying residents of California so that’s one reason why!!!!

I have! I've gotten the same advice from multiple specialists on the subject. Do not take creatine if you have pre-existing issues with your kidneys. Other than a gram per pound of protein and a strict eating regimen...I'm natty all the way.

I was in Vegas 2 years ago, hanging out side the sunglasses shop my wife was inside looking and I watched a guy run in grab a bunch of sunglasses and run, I ran in checked on my wife talked to the manager and she said yeah we're not allowed to call the cops or anything it's not over 1000$ nothing we can do, acted totally unphased as it happens a lot, I was totally shocked
It is interesting how the old school says you need 5 or 6 meals a day, but current studies do not support that being necessary! Both nitrogen balance and protein synthesis stay elevated for 8 + hours from one meal! As long as you are getting the amount of protein in per day it is not necessary to eat more frequently than you need to do that! The big things to concentrate on are protein, fat, and some carbs if you feel they are necessary! Hint: They are not nearly as vital as was once thought.
The studies you mention probably weren’t performed on bodybuilders. Even if you’re natural, if you train your ass off and you want to maximize gains, you cannot go longer than 3 hours without food. Your body will cannibalize your muscles. I literally waste away if I miss my meal timing. Once I eat, you will literally be able to watch my arms fill up. For me, I take 350g protein a day over 6 meals. Carbs are not essential, that’s not new info. Your liver will produce 60-100g carbs on its own. Only amino acids and fats are essential. Carbs are necessary for glycogen replenishment, but you can healthfully live without them.
Your body will be fine if you go longer than 3 hours without a meal. Meal frequency is personal preference. Overall calories and protein for the day matter most

But you will be short changing yourself if you have those gaps. This matters more and more as training volume, frequency and intensity rise. If you’re some normie that just lifts weight from point A to point B, probably isn’t as important. But if you’re pushing to failure with heavy weights, lots of volume, you’re doing yourself a huge disservice by not spreading your aminos out evenly throughout the day. I’ve been bodybuilding for 23 years. There’s no way you’ll convince me otherwise. I can see it happening. But again, I’m a psychopath in the gym. Someone like my brother, who barely trains at all, the food isn’t as big of a deal. Plus he’s 160lbs I’m 240 and lean. You can click my pic and see what I look like. That doesn’t happen on accident.
