Tamilnadu tableau shows how there was election method called 'kudavolai' in which the villagers come together and vote through a palm leaf (oalai) inside the pot (kudam) very long back around 900AD during the Cholas period
Tamil nadu represents the oldest election system (kudaoli systrm)
All the 28 states won't be represented. Only 15 - 16 tableau's can be represented every year.Each state sents their tableau with their concept of the year and the ministry will decide whether or not to select that particular state.And the tableau that were behind were about ISRO, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Home Affairs,Centre For Scientific and Industrial Research, CPWD,Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways,Election Commission of India,Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of External Affairs.
I think all the states must be represented.

After a long time Rajasthan's tableau was in parade this time. ❤ From last republic day, Haryana's tableau was one of best. Craft was amazing. Theme as well, was based on epic Mahabharata
State Tableaux are best part of this day's parade. I never miss it. Even as a Indian, you got to know a lot about culture of your fellow Indian from other region. I have been watching it continuously for 6-7 years now yet I never found anything repetitive. it seems each state has got a lot to show and our diversity is just limitless.

This is done every year. However, not all states are represented each year. Few states are chosen and their tableaus are depicted. Keeps changing every year.

"Different States" in terms of each one with a unique region identities dating back to history. "Different Cultures" in terms of traditional clothes, foods, lifestyles, dance/music/art. And, Different Languages means regional languages. Thus, here, the word Different does not imply to be different from others but to preserve this Uniqueness, along with being INDIAN to the core !!!

Yes, tabloid thing is for every year, but not all states are shown as few tabloids gets rejected... Also, few other agencies might also get to showcase their tabloid, like DRDo or Isro etc... and there is also a winner too.

the parade is happnend on Raj Path connecting India gate, and gate way of India is in Mumbai....FYI, you guys have just saw the edited version of this parade every thime, however this parade is about 2:30hrs to 3hrs and tableaus are inclded in every parade along with militry march... god bless

also the lady in the red chair with golden railings on the side is the president of the INDIA and Emmanuel Macron the president of France is the chief guest for this year and all the white people you see there are mostly delegates of the french team that came with the president and all are mostly high ranking defence personal of france also a band regiment of france were a part of the parade and they were at the starting and also not all states are covered because this happens every year soo only some states are covered each year so that it doesn't get repetitive and also we get to see what each state is doing after some times

You're right, there were other tableaus behind the state ones. But they were representative of the work done by various government ministries. Every year, all the states send in their tableaus but they have to compete. Only the best ones or those that thematically match up to a the R-day theme of that particular year are chosen. All states don't make the cut.

Republic day parade is every year based on that year's theme like Women empowerment this year. All 28 states send their Tableaus which then are accepted or rejected based on that year theme. This year 20 were accepted and 8 rejected.
