Yea my 2002 has about the same tires and I think got lifted two or three inches but that’s how I bought it , haven’t done much to it yet , changed turn signal and some interior lights and license plate light over to LED just to make them brighter, I haven’t done any long distance driving with it yet since I just bought it last month and wanted to see if it had any issues, gas mileage is around 19- 20 around town but I’m only doing 35-45 mph , I did get it out on the highway a half dozen times at 65 and it feels solid , I bought it to pull a small boat around so it’s great for that but I’m interested in seeing what the gas mileage will be towing long distance, going to give the 4 runner a tune up and clean the mass air flow sensor and throttle body , changed the air filter already , after seeing all the comments on you tube and doing some maintenance on the truck I think I picked a winner, 👍
Thanks, Looks super good. I'm stock suspension (about to do the 1" icon lift) and wanted to get slightly larger tires. I was thinking about 265/75/16. What made you go with this size? (it seems more rare...) wider stance? I'm gonna get Ko2's as well. I think your truck looks just as good as a 3" lift with 33's... in my opinion. Cheers!
Thank you so much! Honestly the only reason I went with these is because a dude on Facebook marketplace was selling them for 500 bucks and they were pretty much brand new and it just so happened to be 275/70/16. I thought it was weird there are no videos or anything on this size on a 3rd gen 4runner.
How do you like your 275/70/16’s? I have a 2001 4Runner and I am deciding if I should go with 275’s or 285s I just don’t know if there’s a big difference
Hey Emery, Here is my suggestion to you. Everybody on UA-cam and their Baby Mama are all about Mod this, buy that - how about, you carve out your own style encouraging people to keep their 3rd Gen Bone Stock. In doing so you will help preserve this generation from extinction and molestation. And am sure tons of people will appreciate your approach. Go to Jay Lenos Garage and 99% of his car collection are OEM. There is a Good reason why legendary car collector prefer BONESTOCK. THINK ABOUT IT BRO.
I have a 3” lift kit ready to go in but since getting it I regret getting lift springs, I plan on selling them and getting either a 1.5” lift spring or oem spring (my shocks and springs are worn out terribly) so I wanna bring it back to stock height (it’s sagging) and make the ride better. It is so capable stock.
Bro looks great!! That size that you're wearing right know is the equivalent of 32's right? I just got my 2000 4R and I'm planning on getting new tires soon !! :)
There is nothing as SEXY as a Bone-Stock 3Gen. I like the Tire upgrade 👌. I can't stand the Mall Crawlers with 4RUNNER on lift kits, heavy bumpers, grills, big ugly wheels and stupid roof rack - they look stupid. Everyone knows they faking as if the are fulltime overlanders. Bro, your truck looks GREAT. I Have a 99 limited same color as yours but the wheels are 5 STAR. I Like your oem wheels tho, they look great 👍
Some of us actually wheel and camp and daily drive 3rd Gen 4Runners .Get off your high horse and accept the spectrum of enthusiasts. Mall Crawling is a bit of a disease, but why dis people who want to mod their rigs? You do you. Most people running 265/75/16 use 1.25" wheel spacers to clear the UCAs when wheeling. Usually the only rub is rear of front fenders at full-lock in reverse. 70s should be fine. Vehicle MFGs tuck the tires too far into the wheel wells the get the best EPA/MPG rating for the window sticker, but it looks like crap with LTD flares.
You Go Boy!!! Looks AWESOME 👍👍👍I run a 99 4RUNNER on 265/65R17 ..no rubbing at all either..Tundra brake upgrade to 16-inch drilled & slotted rotors..first 2 mods so far....Question the hood on urs & color of ur rig? Keep Up The Great Work Yazmin Venice Beach ⛱ CA 😎😎😎
Thanks man that’s awesome! And the color is grey, I’m not sure what the factory color is but it’s a light grey. And the hood is the sport edition hood which came with a factory hood scoop.

They are 275/70/16
275/70 r16 equals 31.15” tall
I got 265/75/16 witch is 31.65 in and the 275/70/17 is 31.16
I have a 3rd gen 96 limited no rubbing
Same, looks like it could do 275/70/17 with no rub.
