- First night sleeping in this ambulance was bad. Restless nights sleep and i think it was because everyone can see inside. Time to BLACK OUT MY WINDOWS.
My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after t11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.
I now have a shop space to keep me busy through the winters here on Canada's westcoast. Went from Van Life to VAN LIFE + SHOP LIFE !!!!!! Come join this crazy van life journey of mine. HIT SUBSCRIBE, trust me its gonna be a WILD RIDE.

Put something on those steps so Cruz won't accidentally tear off a toenail. Just a suggestion.
Love our Cruzie! Pad those side steps.
Be careful with Cruise hopping into that ambulance he could get his foot caught in one of those little holes and that would be a broken leg for sure.
One thing for sure your van has given you plenty of content this summer
more than he planned on i'm sure lol
Oh but I Love the New Ambo... Call it Cruz Control ❤
Jus Amazed how everything lines up for Chrome..
Amen to that😮
It’s like a mansion in there!! The space!! So many options 💡
I Absolutely love the sound of that Ford diesel starting.
None of my business, but I am a subscriber, so I’m going to say it. Please wear shower shoes, when you go to a public shower. You can contract HPV warts through your feet. Google it. 😊 Stay safe.❤
I swear you took the words out my mouth take the advice get you some house slippers og
careful with the dog hopping outta the truck with those metal grates, my molly had slightly long toenails and one got caught in the grate and ripped off, it hurt for hours. and bled a lot
i saw one utuber little dog toe nail got ripped off from getting stuck in the hole in the step ...
CURISE IS SO ADORABLE.
The entrance steps where Cruz goes in and out of, please cover the outside steps that have the holes in them with indoor/outdoor carpet to prevent Cruz from getting his nails caught on/ in the holes and ripping his dog nails out. This happened to my dog on my semi.
I'm a dog groomer. I was coming to say the same thing.
Great advice, I was concerned too.
And it sounds like Cruz's nails are a little long right now... Maybe that's why he isn't jumping up the steps like he did before.
True. I notice that too.
😢😢😢😢😢 yes please don't let our Cruzey get hurt!!
Cruise’s face just kills me!! Easy to tell what he’s thinking!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
People will always sleep better when their head is to the North.
Don’t decide anything until Loren has looked at your engine. Then you’ll know what your options are going to cost you.
That’s interesting. That is what I do. No wonder I sleep well.
So True I always sleep Head to the North...🌿👍👍🌿
That looks like me waking up in the ambo bro 😎 and yes Cruze loves it for sure ❤
Sorry about your van. What I love about you is that, in spite of bad luck and unfortunate circumstances, you always remain positive and find a way to make something else work. You are awesome.
When something bad happens to us UA-camrs.... It's bittersweet since it also makes the most powerful content you will ever make.
He is so uplifting
Kinda neat to see back to the basics and what your priorities are with the ambo now is been called into use.
Sorry, dude. I have to say my heart is in my throat every time Cruz jumps into the van. I know it's none of my business, but I wish you would put him in like you did before.
9🎉7 😢
Or a dog ramp?
He’s going to do his back in sooner rather than later. Lift him in at least please. 🐶
😂 but cars are made of metal on the outside. We should put bulder guards. weld at the metal💥
And the renovations begin...😊
I use magnetic hooks to keep screen material around the metal frame of my van. It works with cloth too.
❤👌🏻👍🏻🙏🏻 Why not build the ambulance out as your new home? That makes a lot of sense to me. Nice and roomy. Greetings, Sara from South Africa🇿🇦
Not to schaby for a one day build 👍🏼
Please cover the holes in the step so little Cruzie won't hurt his feet..my little dog got his nails caught in a step like that and nearly broke his leg..can't have no accidents with Cruzie..even though you have had all this bad luck your content has been great..keep it coming❤️
That ambulance can make a really nice home on wheels.🚑 🏠
any update on your van thanks for sharing another great adventure stay safe
I'm curious, why don't you sleep in your van just outside your shop until it goes in for the new engine? Wouldn't that be more comfortable?
You are such a joyous person!
Definitely look's like A Home.
The ambulance is really nice.
Nothing better than going back to basics. Loving this journey. 😊
Maybe just the lower part of that side cabinet comes apart and would give enough room to fit the sideways bed? That would save the upper storage.
Was thinking the same, he would have to sacrifice shelving on both sides and raise the bed though.. I’m guessing Chrome is at least 6 feet. His head would fit nicely in the sliding shelf space :) He would have to find another place for all his clothes :)
Well y'all are not boring that's for sure! Let the adventure begin! Love you Cruzy Bear!
Excuse me....??? I am a dog....not a bear, don't forget it Pal....Cruz🐾
Ambo is coming together. Old school days😅
Life will always change you just need to adjust an adapt😮
To bad you couldn't just take the bottom part of the shelves off and you could put the bed side to side... all the best from Nova Scotia
😂 Eye wash. Boy do I know what you mean about sleeping in a different position. I hope you will get better sleep. It's the not being home that effects one's sleep also. Keeping my fingers crossed that you can figure out quickly what to do moving forward.
Much love 🤗🤗
Don't give up on your van. It has been your home/trademark. It would be a shame to put so much love and time.
Cool beans ,Like the back windows .Looks slick weirdo.🤓
I like the Ambulance better than the Hotel. It's more you.
Enjoying the videos! It’s cool to see how easily you have adapted and made this a comfy home for you and Cruzie
Thank you for sharing the lights, switch panels, etc. I was wondering and it's not that complicated at all so I put them in my Amazon wish list. 😊 happy trails!
Yeah but he has a house panel and lights already in the ambulance I don't think he knows how to wire them up
@@steveswartout7408 I know I wouldn't either and assumed that was why he chose those. 🤣 I think it would be great if you didn't want to do a build or couldn't afford it. But, there would be way more space without all those cabinets in the sides. If one did know how to wire up all those fancy buttons, endless options I am sure. I was clueless about those lights though and then felt silly after looking them up. 😂
I love the back to basics concept
I love the backup beeper on my van. But I can see how that could get annoying when you stealth camp.
You can get outdoor stair treads, that might work to cover the steps to protect Cruzie's feet.
You adapt well! Have a happy day!!!
👋 Chrome and Cruz
Bodda 💥 boom😅
Lovin your new home...
You making the best of it 😊
Your are so inventive 😊
Get your number one van a new engine or rebuilt. Hey, not shabby with the ambo build!
My command post truck also has an on off switch for the backup alarm and I love it because I can keep it quiet most of the time but in situations where I think people might not be paying attention or there is alot of traffic I can switch it on for safety
Don't stop, bro!! Circumstances have created the information people might actually need.
This is my "book reading" for my retirement plan.
No one can afford rent prices anywhere in America anymore. 😢
This is certainly one hell of a new chapter in your vanlife. Nice pee bottle spot 🤣🤣🤣
I really enjoy watching your adventures but I feel Cruizy should have a safety harness in case you have to stop suddenly etc just like you have a seat belt.
Like the new setup
Thank you for sharing your updates with us. Love the pee bottle location. Everyone stay safe, happy 😊 and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
That’s a badass ambo! I’m so so glad you’re not having the rig be built out for you. Keep at it Chrome!
Your videos are sooooo wholesome. 😊
Chrome i wonder if you could tap into the wiring already in the ambulance and make it work off a set of batteries instead of the alternator on the engine.
gotta love Cruzie man!!!
This was a great video. Showing how to start van life with limited conveniences or rewatch some of your early video's. Thanks for updating us moving into the ambulance. 😊
Let there be light! You are adapting quickly to the ambo. It is great that you are sharing the how-to's with us. Aww, Cruzie... Can't get back to the bed. thanks for a great video!
I switched out the overhead bulbs for LED. Mine has a high and low position on the switch. I use red bulbs in the low side. I have a separate switch for left and right so I use as needed.
I'm loving your videos man. I really enjoy watching you put this stuff together! Loving those window blinds. I might try that on my van!
Chrome, with winter coming soon, what are you going to do for heat? I'm learning a lot, and I Thank You for that!
pop a string through that back indow material and tie a magnet to it and stick it to the door to keep it from drooping
So ingenious ❤
Like the upholstery window cover idea, they looks so stylish well done!!😍
Now you made me want to make something fun for our ambu covers. 😁😜
Oh wow you have no heater in there
Hello Chrome
You are having a lot of fun with the ambulance. You got it ready to go so fast. Cruzy is a little confused. Love his bottom teeth they are so cute!😍
He's not a dog. He's a person.❤
😆😆😆 ... Cruzie's facial expressions 😁❤️❤️❤️❤️
I need to ENTIRELY start over from scratch with my van again.... I have a van like Joseph's...except mine is laughable and Joey's looks like something out of a Sci-Fi movie 👍👍🙂
You're going to Rock this AMBO OUT -- 😎⭐️⭐️⭐️ WHOOO-HOOO Yeah bro !!!
You gotta fix it! I am impressed at how fast you gotta temporary home set up! Very good in a pinch. You got a point about sleeping side to side. I have been thinking from behind drivers seat to rear but you made some good points. Have fun and be safe.
I definitely swap sleeping from foot to head of the bed. Better than rotating the mattress
😂
I don't understand why he doesn't just sleep in his van at the shop and use that ambulance to venture out during the day.
I don't know this but I suspect the neighbors or the owner of the shop does not want someone living there. Also city would probably frown on it.
He's said before that he sleeps better on the side of the road, listening to road noise and life around him. Probably too quiet by the shop.
What if a fire starts in the shop and doors won't open? A side door maybe? Garage is neat and clean but may have lingering smells?
I could be wrong, but I think it's part of the rental agreement to not sleep on property.
YUP. Landlord issues.
🤣🐾 Just love that Cruzie!!!!
I was wodering why yoi wouldn't find the 12 Volt DC from the ambo and it would charge your Zak. Can't wait to see how this project will turn out.
Cruzie and those looks. He’s so precious.
Hi Chrome and Cruze 😂😂I loved the expression on Cruze's face... Safe Travels and blessings
I love jimmyrigging (sp?) DIY, quick n easy fixes, window covers etc. This was fun for me to watch, 'cept I wish I was doing that, lol. Soon, one day, soon.
Seems to be better for Cruz. Nice
Idk who I’m a fan of more. Your fur Buddy or your personality. Keep on keepin on
That dogs face is amazing. I am in love.❤go Cruze❤️
Nice
Need the heater soon
Cruz has the most epic bombastic side eye
Nice to see an experienced vanlifer starting a build from scratch. The circumstances suck, but it gives a bunch of info to newbies.
I bet there's lots of forums and websites for ambo lifers, they'd have lots of tips on building this out
OMG! I laughed so hard as Chrome explained to Cruisey this is how van life started. Bahaha
Dude that window in the back door is awesome. Especially when you need fresh hair and like a breeze on your face when you sleep. If I didn't have MS I would love to van life it. I love traveling. Especially in the snow when it's forgetting the forest.
Cruz is definitely loving his new mobile home..
Love the ambulance ❤
🎉 Congratulations ~ this is exciting.
A whole new chapter 👌ambulance 🚑
This reminds me of your early days...let's call it "Classic Chrome."
Cruzie is master of the side-eye! Lol
Great video. I like how you are trying to make things work for you xx
Thank you, Chrome. I'll buy and fix my window cover, just like yours. So COOL 💖
Get a men's room sign instead of an emergency eye wash station sign. Thanks for sharing. Love ya, Nancy
You was smart to have a back up vehicle ready to go. I think i might use a second cargo van as my storage unit just in case i need it for a house. So clever
I saw a very real ADA symptom here. I do the same. Problems excite me I love to solve them. Life is a game bro! But when the solution doesn’t present, like with your home, we just look away and look for solvable puzzles. Here’s to inspiration on your long time home 🎉 it will come when it comes. Until then we enjoy the ride.
On the windows, what about using magnets to keep them on. On the smaller windows what about cutting the covering in half, so that u can open & close the lower panel.
On another note where r u putting your refrigerator?
You and Cruze look great in that ambo
Sorry about your van! Glad you have the ambulance.
I'd put something over that step to keep Cruise safe. He could catch a nail in the step holes.
Thanks for sharing 😊
My dogs, Bailey and Jack Daniels eat the same treats as yours!!! They are the best!!!
Oops! Oversight to forget window shades first night . Ha ha....😮😊
