Thanks for featuring me!
Thanks Mort :)
That was great!
Thanks mort awesome story
Thanks Mortis, always a pleasure to listen to you! Awesome narration.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
"...the doctor called for his orderlies and they swiftly removed the jeweler and then put him in a mental hospital..."
Well, that escalated quickly.
Indeed it did XD
🤣
😂😂
So many remake movies when there's so many stories like this to be told.
Agreed, hollywierd has run out of ideas.
Exactly! These stories would be fascinating to see on the big screen.
There is a Russian TV series based on her life called Sonka Zolotaya Ruchka :) not sure it is available with English subs, but it’s definitely worth watching if you can find it!!
@@elinat2414 Ooh I'll look for that. Thanks.
Why, it is just the story of almost all women.
Manipulate men into paying for everything.
If you don't see that this was her core, you are blind.
What an intriguing, multi faceted woman.
I could easily see her story on a screen.
Not considered beautiful, but by the photo, I think she looks quite beautiful even by today's standards.
Thank you for bringing her to light!
He said not considered stunning yet still pretty and beautiful
He said she was very beautiful tho
Pretty girl. Her name sounds like a James Bond girl....”Sonya Goldenhand”
Walter Jack 😂😂
What a fascinating story. It's should be made into a movie!
It was: Sonya Golden Hand and Sonya and the Legend Continued and partly, at least the jewery and psycholgist trick was used in a Marlene Dietrich film ;)
Desire, a 1936 fim
Awesome story! I saw the 1936 film Desire & sounds like they took the idea from Sonya's story... where she tricks the jeweller & psychiatrist!
.Why, it is just the story of almost all women.
Manipulate men into paying for everything.
If you don't see that this was her core, you are blind.
@@pychohobo1832 I guess if your mom was better at it , you would have had a better childhood and you wouldn't be so angry at women. 😃
When beauty fades all you have left is ur mind.
Garden Warrior, Hello. Even that is not always the case the loss of beauty especially when it is narcissistically cherished can warp or destroy the mind.
Knowledge is something no one can take from you🔥
@@Umiliani well were talking about the knowledge part anyone can get sick.
@@blancamiranda6661 hello and greetings, unfortunately that's precisely what dementia does.
@@allanlindsay8369 oh ok...
In regards to her daughters abandoning her, I suppose since they were pursuing the lofty and noble career of being musical comedians, they can't be seen talking to the likes of their *breathtakingly genius* Mother...
Especially since they financially benefited from her escapades...instead of growing up in poverty and drudgery.
Agreed, how sanctimonious of them
Fascinating story. I don't know if I should dislike or admire Sonya.
I think I like her. x
She got someone thrown into a mental institution during a very barbaric period, simply to make it more convenient to get away with what she stole. She's guilty of kidnapping and torture.
A pet monkey that ate small gems when the store owner was not looking, BRILLIANT!! This woman's life story had me in awe!
It was great! XD
Its really something she go thur giving the monkey an enema go through his crap just to get something she's been stealing to support herself. Sad story sad life.
I'm so glad you put this channel together, it really is a great one, to be sure. You do a great job with the script, and choose fascinating individuals. You do a great job of getting the viewer's attention, and keeping it.
Many thanks.
😁
Thanks very much! It's really great to hear that :D
She was gangsta✊👊. Stay in school kids
😂🤣🤣👏👏
She should have become a politician. Her thefts would have been legal then.
Lol
🎯🎯🎯
"her lover was a pickpocket" idk why I laughed at that
Me too! Birds of a feather stick together. Similarly deprived people. Maybe that's why she fell in love.
Great job love changing your style! Can't wait for the next one💖💯💖
I love your voice and the overall ambiance of music coupled with your easy light voice!!!So relaxing!!!Love thus channel! Please don't go anywhere!!!
Thank you so much!! :D

I had to subscribe after this video. I truly loved how relaxing yet entertaining this video is. ❤
Thank you very much :D
Great job on the video!! I loved all the related pics and photos too! Keep up the good work and thank you!
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the pictures, rarely do I get comments regarding them!
This exact story was made and shown in an Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode. In the episode they added a few things that is not in the true story, but it's really good!
The 1959 episode is "The Diamond Necklace" and it features Claude Rains and Betsy Von Furstenberg.
Great fun! I never knew it was a true story, lol!
...Then she immigrated to the USA and worked on Wall St, living happily ever after!
What a fascinating life story! Thank you for this, I subscribed.
Thanks very much! I hope you enjoy the content!
She looked stunning to me.
Sara agreed, I think she looks gorgeous in the photo.
Sonya was smart enough to con unsuspecting victims, but not smart enough to avoid being conned by another criminal, thereby losing her freedom. Sonya's daughters benefited from their mother's life of crime, but when their mother got caught and was no longer useful, they disowned her. Over all, Sonya wasn't very smart. Maybe Sonya never had the option to live life honestly.
Beautiful woman...such a sad story.... i'm not feeling her daughters attitude towards her smh... this would be a great movie if portrayed exactly to her real life history... thanks for this story
I agree they were so ungrateful.
Or a book but you don't seem to be the reading type.

Glad you enjoyed the story and narration :D
@@ForgottenLives Thank you! Always enjoy yours and Mortis's work. You both are top narrators and creators!
I always enjoy your narration MM🤗Interesting story!
Sonya Golden Hand, was a thief yet showed compassion. 🤔Her finger nails and bag was a class act! The monkey swallowing diamonds, shows her ingenuity! 🙊I feel I admire her character. Her daughters should have forgiven her. She deserved their love. 👩❤️💋👩Well told😘
Why should her children forgive her? She preyed on people.
Thank you for sharing this story! I enjoyed your narration -your voice is pleasant to listen to.
Great read Mortis, thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed!
Fascinating story of Sonya "Golden Hand"! I so enjoy your stories many of which, like this one, I've never heard of and you have just the right tempo to keep things suspenseful and interesting.

@Brief Case Hi Brief Case Nice to See you Here 😍Hope you have a Wonderful Week . Yes this was an
Interesting Case to say the Least💓
Thanks BC !!!XD
Very nice narration. Thank you.
I got robbed this summer by a moving guy.. my only gold.. and my crystals 😢. Glad she felt guilt in the end.
Oh no not the gold and crystals chile 😱. I hope u get it back somehow / blessed with new ones
This was a truly interesting video!
Thank you :D
She's highly intelligent like a lot of master criminals. Being able to freely move about among the gentry. Not easy. I always seem to slip up somehow. As to her good looks, well it's obvious, she's gorgeous but not too gorgeous. That woman, you could pluck her out of the eighteen whatevers and drop her in the 2000's and she would be right at home. Subscribed.
She...is
wonderful. and mysteriously told. thank you much. so interesting. i’m listening to this in Sept., 2022. glad you’ve done so well and you are still discovering all these people we hardly ever heard of. :) 🌷🌱
One of the best stories thus far. Thank you.

Thank U Sooo Much for this Awesome Video! I LUV When U Do a Cross-over Video with All the Other Channels I'm Subbed to! Lol! Luv it! U Guys Killed It!
Another great episode. I hope you might consider doing a series on historical kidnappings, ie Patty Hearst, Lindbergh baby and other more obscure cases from the past.
Thansk for the suggestion, i'll look into it!
Thankyou for this story. I had never heard of this lady and found her fascinating.
Thanks for watching!
I can't believe I had never heard of this woman before. Such a fascinating life! Much more dramatic than any Hollywood movie I've seen in the last 20 years. Thanks so much for introducing me to it.
No problem thanks for watching!!
Fascinating, thank you Xxx
Thanks for wathcing!
Great one!
Thank you very much !!
She really was something. I thought it hilarious how the poor jeweler ended up being committed. (Yes, sad for the jeweler) I would've liked her too had I known her.
Lovely story's look forward to the next
Thanks! And great!
Thank you this was interesting.
I love that she felt guilt and kind of changed her ways. A little. Better than being completely heartless.
Wow what a story! She’s quite a clever and fascinating character
Looking forward to it!!
:D
Mort it was wonderful having you read for your brother in this episode. A common downfall in most of the individuals seems to be greed. Another excellent video by the way!🙂
Thanks Matthew!
@@ForgottenLives You're welcome. You're very kind!😀 Continue being excellent.💯

*L❤VE FORGOTTEN LIVES CHANNEL*
Thank you :)
Love this! I'm russian and have never heard of this lady! Great vid and person to talk about! :)
Reminds me of the 1936 film Desire with Dietrich and Cooper, the part where she claims to be the wife of a doctor and gets away with jewels
"She would extract the stones using an enema"😥🐒
I loved watching the Marlene Dietrich and Gary Cooper movie of this story' very interesting🤔and what a life she lived.
Whats it called
Did they made movie ow WAAW
Ya what's it called??
Waw very interesting ... This real life story would make a hell of a movie very cool 👍👏💍

My pleasure!!
Came here because I heard your voice on Brief Case nice work
🇯🇲
Awesome!
I was 5 minutes in before I realized I was hearing you on a different channel and suddenly thought, "Wait, why isn't this story scary??" :D
Haha, i'm sure it happened to a few people XD
What's the music playing in the background 👀? Can you give me a link or name if possible?
It's in the description.
She was a smart gal, but when one is determined to rise above humble beginnings; one gets very resourceful and creative. Many of these characteristics are attributed to males, but a hungry woman is not to be denied. Go Sonia. The sisterhood needs to know more about these creative women. Loved this‼️💯❤️
What a fascinating woman
Well done
Awesome....
Tyvvm for her story. It sounds like she did what she had to do to survive & for her children. Great guest narrator 🌟
Thanks for watching!
Fascinating !
Thank you :D
😂😂 i died laughing - she was sentenced to “peenal” servitude
Cool.!!
Great video and job , she was my kind of women, and excellent at her craft , it's been a long time past , and She manages to steal my Heart , Rest In Peace Lady Robinhoodess 👍😎

1:05 What woman doesn't???
I loved this story and I was rooting for Sonia.
Criminal or not, I admire her courage and wit! Sad that her daughter's didn't appreciate her in the end.
Appreciate a grifter and thief? WTF
