The blue from their B comes from copper, which is a way worse oxygen transporter than iron, meaning: taking it away from the crabs is not like taking from humans. We can survive as nothing ever happened since ours is way more efficient at oxygenating everything, so having a little less isn't a big deal. Theirs is way worse at that, so taking even a little away is almost always fatal. (I'm not gonna use the complete B word because UA-cam will hide my comment).
I don't remember the exact statistic, but I do remember the survival rate was so low (around 10 to 20% iirc) we're basically making them extinct.
