It's shocking to me how the shock cavalry that are the Chaos Knight did so well. Despite being put against shockingly unfavourable match ups. I was so surprised, it made me choke on my chocolate.
AI/Attack Animation differences seriously had a huge impact in the Tzeentch Knights and Necropolis Knights battle. For every 1 attack Tzeentch's made, I noticed the Necropolis Knights attacked twice or more.
Chaos Knight models are too big for the unit size so they block each other and interfere with making attacks. It's a bigger deal on the charge but they have significantly higher than average WS to try and account for it.
Attack interval isn't that different in the game files. Sometimes even when a unit attacks twice with animations it still does only 1 attack of damage because it's attack interval does not allow it to attack within a certain time frame If a unit has an attack interval of 3.8 seconds....any attack made less than the time frame is a visual glitch and won't do damage
when you run out of unity, there are high quality mods that you can test, like the nagash mod, or champions of undeath, which are for me the best mods in terms of quality, especially in terms of new unit (their campaigns and mechanics are also incredible and unique, I recommend)
It's still cavalry. Like if the swedes actually succeeded in domesticating moose, it will be called moose cavalry. Heck moderned armored divisions are called cavalry and they don't even use animals
well I would have been upsett if the anti large cav did not win lol but idk about chaos knights they dont perform good against either infantry of cav or like anything
Then you probably use them wrong. The ones with Sword and shield can be left to fight after a charge agains infantery but the ones with Spears are specificly shock cavalry, so only good for charging, falling back and charging again. Also preferebly against infantery since they destroy their formations pretty good with their charge.
@AlphariusCLH I dont use them at all bc they are worse than like most things on the roster. No point in using them there are way better performing units on the chaos roster
@AlphariusCLH and yeah I know that the lance versions are shock cav and sword and board are meele cav but idk I prefer the higher up variants like skullcrushers or rotknights. Not a big fan of cav in TWW3
@@deusvult6164 Yeah, Cav had it's problems and I also don't like it much in massive battles because of the micro management. But in smaller battles, they are often the deciding factor for me. Me and a buddy of mine once defended a small, cathayan Caravan against a Greenskin army by only using four tier 2 units of cav. Regarding Chaos Knights: I almost exclusively use them as Archeon, but they are very solid up until lategame where you can transform them into Skullcrusher/Rot knights.

Not sure what you're seeing, it looked alright to me, the Tzeentch Knights never had a chance to begin with

They are meant for hit hard and run. It's a shock cav and by definition they are bad in extended fights
