Extreme Tumblers Rebel 17 acrylic see through lid

I just received my new Extreme Tumblers Rebel 17. This tumbler will be set up mainly as a mill. I want to be able to see inside my mill to make sure I am getting good grinding action(GGA). I don’t like wasting time. This is not a cheap tumbler. I want to get the most life out of my motor and bearings so I made myself a way to see inside. By using the metal lid provided with the unit as a template I was able to cut a matching piece of clear acrylic scrap. With this pre-run viewing window I will have the ability to make sure my ratio of composition to grinding media is efficient prior to a full run. If there is too little or too much I can make adjustments until I get what I am looking for. I can then the let the mill do its thing for hours with the confidence it is running efficiently. Additionally, since some components of composition or individual materials begin as course and break down to fine the efficiency of the ball-to-composition will change. If need be I can reapply the acrylic lid at any point in the session to make sure GGA is still occurring and make adjustments if needed.
Over time I will become more proficient with the system and likely will not need the acrylic window at all.
I will try to find time to record and post more videos of the mill as I go through the actual process. For now I am new to mills so forgive my ignorance should I incorrectly name or describe something! Learn what you can and grow. If you have the energy to bash people for not making a perfect video you have the energy to make one of your own and put yourself to the same scrutiny we do. I put out videos to help educate others for a simple reason: Knowledge is power and power corrupts. However, there is an often over looked caveat. The corruption is nullified if the knowledge and therefor the power is shared. Knowledge is fact and facts are truth. Disarming corruption is as simple as sharing knowledge. Educate the ignorant and you disarm corruption.
