I couldn't believe how good the Snyder Cut of Justice League was compared to the original Justice League that WB put out. All the added scenes, plus the change on music, made it an enjoyable experience. I absolutely hated Justice League. I really liked Man of Steel.
I enjoyed his cut of Justice League a lot, it felt like an event watching it. But MoS is his best DC movie, and I think it's mainly because it is mostly a stand alone movie, while BvS had a bit too much setting up for future movies.

I've had a DCEU week with friends where we watched these movies and the buildup is so epic. We do these type of weeks or even months where we would gather and watch MCU movies from the first to last, or stuff like that. And out of all comicbook movies we all had the most hype by the time we got to Justice League, that 4 hour movie felt like a huge event. That convinced me I had to buy that trilogy, it's not for everyone, but it's hella fun.

Im a big fan, especially the snydercut. Granted... not perfect. But way better than everything else in the dceu. I like James gunns projects as well. But there was sooooo much garbage after they got rid of syder.

Parts of his stories in his dc movies may not be perfect but his action scenes are like watch a comic book. That shot of Superman and Doomsday in bvs shooting their lasers at each other is amazing.

Went opening night for Batman V Superman and refused to watch it a second time until very recently I watched the director’s cut. And holy shit, I could’ve just been drunk but that movie rules. And that’s after 8 straight years of hating it
It was definitely the alcohol. I'm a die-hard DC fan and I didn't like either. Although I will say the director's cut was better but that's such a painfully low bar that it doesn't even really matter.

Josstice League (2017) is one of the worst major studio theatrical releases of all time. The Snyder Cut is one of my favorite comic book movies ever made. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It’s such a great representation of those characters in live-action and has all the heart and warmth people complained about Snyder’s prior DC films lacking - while still retaining all the Snyder coolness. It’s so good.

A director’s/extended cut are always better. In my opinion. Lord of the Rings for example. Spider-Man 2.1, Watchmen, Batman v Superman

@@alchie3867 Well WB changed the whole movie a few months or weeks before it's release. Ayer (the director) has talked about it a few times. I couldn't care less for the movie itself, but I wish they would release his cut just because they wronged him. Imagine making something, and then the company changes the thing where it's no longer what you made, and release it so people think you made THAT when you didn't really. Just sucks.

See this is the problem I have always had with Snyder's DC stuff.
WHY does he need 6 hours of film to show "WHY" something needed to happen or "WHY" the characters do something or to see the "whole picture" when no other director needs 6 hours to do the same thing?
Not the Russo brothers doing MCU films, not Christopher Nolan in his films or anyone else.
But Zack Snyder cant tell the story he wanted to tell or atleast show all of the things that needed to be shown if the film wasnt 6 hours long.

If film company executives think they are better film makers than the director they hired then they should just make the film themselves.
The executives don't think they are better film makers, but they are the ones putting up the money to finance the movie. That makes the studio the customer for the director and gives them a say over how the film is made. The more money is involved, the bigger say they tend to have. Nobody is going to hand you $100-200 million and say, "go crazy and make whatever you want." Making a movie into a 3 or 4 hour epic might sound great to a director and it's going to tell an amazing story, but the executive is looking at it like that runtime is going to cost us fewer showings each day in the theater and possibly affect our bottom line so adjust that story so that it fits within two hours, period.
Zach Snyder is a such a try-hard.

Zack DC trilogy is phenomenal.... The real world reacting over the heros actions is damm genious ,especialy related to superman....BvS is one of the most unfairly and miss understood movies i ever seen and been destroyed by the great part of the critics was insanely coward how this people are engaged to the marvel model in the genre....wichs is beyond pathetic,this genre evolhtion started with nolan saga of the dark knight and zack aproach superman with cris nolan in order to do the same aproach as they did before on the dark Knight but now with the character of superman that culminated in the movie man of steel wichs is to me the best Superman movie and one of the greatets in the genre...
As a fan of ghus storues and zack DC i wanted his vision complete cause were epic as no one in the genre....

BvS dropped the ball for the DCEU in my opinion. Man of Steel was this hyper realistic movie where the comic/fantasy elements were only Kryptonian physiology, and Kryptonian technology, two foreign things dropped into the real world, which is in heavy contrast with Marvel, where Iron Man and Captain America exist. Here in the real world no one has or will have the tech to build that armor or develop that super soldier serum, I loved that realism about Man of Steel, that you had M-1 Abrams tanks, F-35 Jets, M4A1 rifles, etc. Not hover tanks, and hover bikes and plasma guns and dumb shit like that. But with BvS, it already went with a very comic-y Batman, the way he can move and fight. Not to mention the fact that he was dumb enough to fall for Luthor's manipulations. Or the fact that Clark instead of trying to convince him calmly with talk, after the second hit went straight for him, hitting him in a way that would kill a normal person, even inside his Bat armor, Bruce would've been turned into fish chum. So yeah, MoS rocks, the rest of the DCEU is just meh.
Director's cut made more sense, but it also incredibly dragged. The movie was way too long with little action and not really a cerebral enough plot to warrant the 180 minute length. And the whole "Martha" thing comes off even worse, because it's like you build to the 4-5 minute fight over two hours, it doesn't really make much sense to begin with and then the fight ends like this.
I prefer the theatrical cut, because it's not a perfect film, far from it, makes even less sense, but it somehow flows better and Snyder movies really are more about the overall atmosphere and visuals and style than a precise, tight storytelling. So I tend to enjoy BvS more in the shorter version.

Everyone saying directors cut better. He had a full cinema release world's largest test screening then he found out what everyone hated and fixed it. Of course it's better but it's still a bad movie just not as bad.

That’s backwards! The only extra scenes Snyder added was the Epilogue. Snyder had all principal photography for the whole movie done. He had a 5 hour long assembly cut already shot.
Joss Whedon was the one who chopped the movie up and reshot it, and that’s what you saw in the theater.
The only thing Snyder needed to do to complete his film was cgi and music.

He keeps saying things that are not true to the characters and world like how he wanted the gods like Zeus to be Kryptonians and having Superman and Batman be killers even though Batman being a killer and branding ppl makes him a vigilante and not a hero, also not forgetting that Batman works with the police and police commissioner and has a strong sense of justice. It's clear that he only read the Frank Miller DC comics and nothing else. Even his commentary on Superman and Batman shows that he doesn't understand the characters. It's the same thing that has also invaded the MCU where they hire ppl who never read the comics or understand the characters to write and direct the movies.
