Max I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting you but from what I’ve seen on utube your one of smoothest and thorough pilot I’ve encountered during my 35 years of flying. Love your videos!
Hi! I don't remember if I've commented before, but I'm blind and love aviation. I love to fly and I love listening to ATC. I hope to go fly to see a friend in the summer. Thank you for amazing content! I hope you had a good Christmas and a healthy New years. God bless you.
Hi Max, I 'think it's great to be back.' I unsubscribed about a year ago for assundry reasons, but when I saw your departure was from Camarillo, decided to give you another shot. I started my FAA career as a controller at Oxnard, Ventura Co. Airport tower/non-radar approach control, back in '72. (Yes, such things once existed... like AN range approaches. {God, now I'm really dating myself}). If you stopped in at Channel Islands Aviation while at Camarillo.... A half-century ago, Channel Islands Aviation was Sierra West Airlines, a part 135 operator at Oxnard, and Camarillo was still the closed Oxnard Air Force Base. Pt. Mugu Approach was a GCA. I'd have to check my logbooks for the date, but likely on this date in '74, I was chief flight instructor for Sierra West (part 61 school), and taking my part 135 checkride single engine in a Cherokee 6 and multi checkride in a Beech Super G-18. If you happened to glance over at Santa Cruz Island as you climbed out, we had exclusive landing rights on the island. I could tell you some exciting stories about landing on that rock! When you mentioned 'different phraseology and procedures for Canada,' it reminded me of my controller years at Las Vegas McCarran tower/TRACON. We were the primary alternate for international flights when LAX went down. I had to laugh! If we took a handoff on "Japan 1 heavy," for example, and you said "Cleared ILS runway 25 approach," you could sit there and watch a TEXTBOOK PERFECT approach to landing. IF, however, you said, "Japan One, fly heading..., vector visual approach runway two five," trust me... you just generated the workload of twenty airplanes, trying to vector One airplane to a visual.... I'm almost 80 now, so in all likelihood I've flown my last mile, but until I take my last breath, it's guys like you who keep it alive for guys like me. Fly safe, buddy....... Carl, former controller/ CJ2+ driver
Thanks to the education and simplicity in explanation you provide, you have inadvertently helped me to learn about aircraft in general which helps in my irrational fear of flying. I found myself on a short flight from Charlotte (CLT) to DC (DCA) recently and while the flights were smooth (no bumps!), I reached back in my mind to a few of your memorable videos to help me deal with the sounds, sights and mechanisms of how this plane stayed in the air - aside from my keeping it in the air with my mind!!!! Thanks for the continued education and Happy New Year.
When the tower asks for your speed, they know what it is. It's thier nice way of telling you to slow down and stop breaking the limit rules. It wasn't Max, it was some other guy up there.
Max, that might have been the smoothest landing at YVR or any other airport you have ever done. The approach into YVR through the clouds was visually amazing. Your cam and editing skills are the best. Happy New Year to you, your family, and the pups!
Best aviation channel on the internet! Max is the most professional with his perfect flight checks. He never takes anything for granted. This is what I love!
As the ASI have already said, what a beautiful morning departure that was. I'm pleased to have found your channel this evening. Top production quality and a great example of good airmanship and flying skills. I look forward to your next video.
Another great flight - and Max overflew my house a bit south of PAE on his approach. We’re honored! 😊 Sorry you were here the PNW during the wet season. It’s a beautiful part of the world in Summer and Fall.
they have parallell runways at that airport .. maybe did check and mistook that airliner for coming in on the other runway .. needs to be better systems to keep all these craft in check imo . a GPS system .. we have the tech to do it
Ouch parallel runways especially at night one big aircraft one smaller they may want to rethink that if they have space or just have one runway open at night and two during day when all is visable so there in like a letter T shape I presume not right next to each other
my last flight ended at 3pm 7/19/89, since that time I have NEVER set foot in an airport let alone another plane. If I ever even remotely thought about getting in a plane again, I think Max is the only pilot I'd ever consider!! Love the vids and ssooooooo happy you're the remarkable pilot you are.
Ah yes, the marathon taxi from 08L! "...100% wet, 100%" wet, 100% wet...", best Vancouver weather description ever. 😀 Always a professional flight with you, Max. Love watching your videos.
As a confirmed aviation enthusiast in YVR it was cool to see your approach to 8L ( ya, you greased it alright!) 8L is along way to Customs…too bad they couldn’t slide slip you to 8R. Love your videos Max
Happy New Year Max. Always nice when you guys (you and Primer 1 driver) come north of the border. Something new and different , glad to see you enjoy the Canadian hospitality all the best!!!
Great trip and beautiful departure. And yes…YVR in winter…often 100% wet! But as they often tell us prairie folks: “at least we don’t have to shovel it!” Happy New Year to you and your family!
Always enjoy the videos Max! Beautiful scenery of the ocean and mountains. Thanks for bringing us along and Happy New Year to you and your entire family.
I am starting my aviation journey tomorrow. Many thanks to you and Russ Can Fly for the inspirational videos to pursue what many of us dream of doing. Thank you.
Great video, Max! I love your clear explanations and prosfessional demeanor. The portion of the flight through the clouds was exciting, and that greased landing was a beauty. You have a cool and interesting job!
Thank you for your videos @citationmax! It definitely helps seeing how you fly and your consistent callouts as well as how you fly instrument as that is what i’m currently working on. i feel more confident flying instrument because of your content! thank you!!
Another great video Max. I feel as if we have flown together across the country many times together. I’m not a pilot but love to fly. Greetings from Spokane, WA. KGEG.
This is just awesome to watch you fly!! I hope you do more videos. I'm enjoying it. And on top of that? I'm learning about the Citation Longitude from MSFS2020 and I'm loving it. So far I am learning about Autopilot, taking off, landing and so forth.
My hometown! Great to see you flying into YVR, Max! Fun fact: The callsign “Pasco” you hear on approach is Pacific Coastal Airlines, a regional airline I used to work for in flight ops! Wish I’d have known you were coming, I’d have bought you a beverage at a the Flying Beaver pub… Happy New Year, bud!
This is awesome max, love seeing you up here in Canada. Hopefully you can make it back out east to Nova Scotia some time. Happy new year to you and your family, all the best.
Happy New Years Max and welcome to our great Canadian country LOL thanks for sharing just a fantastic relaxing flight and so happy to co-pilot from the comfort of my computer LOL Thanks again
safe travels. If you haven't eaten at Waypoint Cafe, I recommend it - it's a local's favorite. But, you probably have considering the number of times you've flown into KCMA. I briefly saw my neighborhood in the background as you taxied to Runway 26 ... LoL.
Wow I think this is the earliest I've ever caught an uploaded video. Great content so relaxing never flown on a private plane before but it looks awesome. Happy new year🎉
1:1. in 1974, I learned to fly at Cheyenne, Wyoming, in the winds and gusts... in a Cessna 150, N66100. I regularly fly my Cessna 140 to from Fort Collins to Leadville, Colorado. Yes, I still teach mountain flying in Colorado. :-)
Love these videos! My checkride is on Wednesday and you give me so much hope and motivation to work hard so that I can get my license. Keep up the great work!

"100% wet 100% wet 100% wet" is the most accurate description of Vancouver during the winter I've ever heard

Very good to see you do a visual look before entering the runway. Something the Dash 8 pilot had failed to do in that Japan runway collision.

They were on the runway for 40s plus. I don't know that a visual check to parallels at night would have made a difference
