- External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Friday once again highlighted the issue of Canada's harboring of extremist elements in the country. Speaking at the prestigious Hudson Institute, Jaishankar spoke on how India becoming the voice of the global South and challenging the Western construct of how the world functions.
He further confirmed that his discussion with US Secretary of State included the issue of Canada's allegations.

Hopefully he is being sufficiently supported by motivated ones among bureaucrats. After a long time, we now have a motivated intellectual as External Affairs Minister. It is ridiculous to expect him to function both as a diplomat and in an execution role. A man has only 24h in a day. So he must be supported by the best. If BJP keeps up creating a respectable narrative (and groundwork to enforce it), India (or Bharat if you like it that way) will be in a commanding position in the next 2 decades. We should also tone down the terminology in terms of 'superpower', 'global power'. Those are clichéd Western terms.

If not speaking politics, Sikhism is a beautiful religion and it is not a god based religion, it is based on the teaching of gurus, Sikhism kind born out of Hinduism as their first guru was born in a Hindu family before starting his religion in the 15th century I guess.
Now coming to modern ages, as we all know India is the most invaded country which makes it more diverse also which resulted in clashes between many communities for the most part Hinduism and Sikhism shared common enemy aka afgan invaders Muslim at that time and Britishers.
And after all of the hoch poch Britishers won and India fell into their hands and, common to Britishers policy of divide and rule, India became a diverse mess and western let hatred was now deepened between all the communities....
Then came India independence and during that there was a whole lot of stuff going between hindu and muslim in India and Sikhs were kind of pressed between both sides and when they recovered from the partition of India based on religion in which most of them fled to India as it was clear that Islamic reforms would not encourage their growth, and things weren't all good for them in India also..... When they recovered from this mess created by Britishers a bullshit law was passed in India making it secular.
On paper it looked good but no one wanted this, and this created so many problems leading to bad politics in India again they suffered a lot not by just others but their own leader but soon enough India got to war with other nations over terrorism and territorial disputes and this United whole India as we know today, and whole thing that's has been United India is "India" in itself. Because we are very diverse.
At the end Sikhs were united in India and even sometimes even more respected than any other religion in India. Solely because of their values.
But now politics is going to use old scars of sikhs to create new disputes from both sides. And I hope they will fight back as they have always been.
Indians irrespective of their religion i.e hindu, Sikh, muslim wants to leave peacefully but to do this we have to fight within ourselves to oppose dividers but clearly we are not fully succeeding. There is a lot of politics and history in play here.

The BJP, in its bid to gain and maintain support, often emphasises the need for preserving and promoting traditional Indian values and culture. They advocate for the preservation of India's heritage and argue against excessive Westernisation.
This apparent contradiction between the desire for Westernisation among the Indian populace and the BJP's stance against it underscores a complex dynamic within the country. It can
be seen as a manifestation of inconsistency and hypocrisy.
You can understand it if you don't have so black and white view, western values like capitalism does not contradict any Indian values, so people are attracted towards them. Education and technology has always been considered good values in India so they also align well, you cant say that they are only western values. And about pursuing education abroad it represents globalization which is again encouraged in India, even BJP encourages it. When I was studying in India there were foreign students coming from UAE and Afghanistan, which I think is a good thing why let country of origin stop us from higher education.
In-fact most of the values of normal people across the world are the same, I have seen the media portraying extremists as an average American or an Average Indian which makes you think the people in different countries are way different.
No Indians are aspiring for western values. May be a tiny group of slaves in media and so called "liberals" who suck up west for their survival. Indians go to west for higher education doesn't mean they ditch their own culture and tradition. In fact Indians in west are mostly the close knit community who preserve their identity and values unlike other Asian countries like Chinese who even tries to change their names to make them friendly to western tongue.
We indians and bjp acknowledge the benefits of western techology and industialisation but we dont want to lose our culture , dharma , our ethos...we dont want western culture ...we aspire knowledge to be found in the west in the tecnology aspects ...is simple nothing hypocritic..
