Yeah eh. They make all the parts. Super easy to do. Check out my second vid on this build. It seems way more capable and fun compared to the stock kit.
Well, nice job, but in the end it is almost a tamiya sand scorcher with 4x4, 😅 is not better then buy directly that?

thanks for the tips . i ordered those exact wheels for my cc02 and found they were to small so i was trying thrn on the mf01x. but couldn’t really think what to do after that . this video has inspired me to go the few steps further . maybe i’ll do the citroen baja 😂👍

Thanks. It was quite project to figure out. Not cheap. But a far better car than the original in my opinion. Parts are in the description. Links are random, just sites selling the parts.
@@Triggered-RC yep I built one when the mf01x first came out. I used all that yeah racing stuff with a lunchbox body and a set of modified Tamiya mini wheels cut and mated with 1/16 slash inner wheel section to run 1:16 slash tires.
@@85Stang331 nice 👍 I just saw a single picture online of a modified one similar to the one I built. And then, figured out on my own to do something similar. The only parts that matched were the wheels I think.
Thank you for the inspiration. I always thought that there were something “missing” for this rally bettle to be “more rally” and you found them for us, it was about the wheel size and the tread width which transformed the vehicle totally. Thank you very much

Id take those rally tires left over but shipping would be insane! 🤣. Cool build, insta360 is very nice, my gopro only lasts 20min before shutting itself off. Fun run!
Yeah, shipping would be more expensive. GoPro 11 is such a disappointment… the RS One gets hot but doesn’t overheat. Will be using it from now on.

Thanks! I didn’t know there was a long span suspension kit to be had. The suspension is wider though as I used GF01/02 arms though.
you have implemented it perfectly. you just never have to calculate how much such conversions cost 🙈, I have done this many times, the original kit price can be neglected. I look forward to more videos

I've just bought myself an M06 Beetle from Ebay that someone had built then put on a shelf & I'm looking for inspiration...
I really like the idea of making a baja/rally style rig & something like yours is exactly what I had in mind.!!
Ever since I saw Rex RC fit those same wheels & tyres onto his rwd converted TT-02 Porsche 911 I've wanted to use them on something myself.!!
The guy I've bought it from has already fitted an internal rollcage 👍 & rally tyres (which I'll probably use on my M05 Mini), as well as alloy shocks & bearings, so I've got a solid base to build on.... All for £80 too.!! 👍 👍

Really love the bigger wheels. My Ford Escort could use more ground clearance but I fear the body can't accomodate bigger tires.
Yeah, the Escort probably would look terrible if you cut it to fit 1.55” wheels.

GF01 parts for the suspensions arms, hubs, axels, etc. Check the description for a list of parts.
What is the list of parts that are different from the stock rally car ?
I made a list in the video description. However, rather than aluminum HR arms etc, you could use the the stock GF01 arms and dog bones etc. Also, the aluminum shock “towers” are not really necessary.

They come under different brands. Here they are called “New Enron”, but can find them on Amazon and eBay with different names. There is a link in the video description.
Tamiya should make it and variations of it with a different body other chassis.

What servo are you using?
OMG 20kg Pro. They are a China company. Great stuff. Slightly more expensive overseas. These cost me about $18 US here. Solid. Have never damaged one. I used to use Savox in my builds, and then Futaba. But for the money, these work best.
Check sites like Bangood and AliExpress.
I presume it required a longer cv joints since it got a longer arm, what choices of cv joints do we have for the modification?
