I have the Tribute version of this guitar and the more I play it, the more I love it. Aside from the build quality, which is excellent, the real magic of this guitar is in the pickups. Those Jumbo MFD's produce some gorgeous, glassy single-coil clean tones in the neck position, but they absolutely come alive when overdriven. The tones you were playing at the beginning of this video were the same kind that I had dialed in, and it just put a huge smile on my face. I think MFD might actually mean "Made For Distortion" because this guitar rocks.

I got a G&L ASAT Classic Tribute semi-hollow a couple years ago, so I always enjoy hearing what other people say about G&L guitars. And yes, even though mine was made in Indonesia it is a fantastic guitar. Mine has the ash-tray bridge with 6 individual brass saddles and the MFD pickups. Your tones are fantastic. I use a couple different small amps at home and really enjoy the tones that I get.

Unfortunately no. In current production year it is only available as "option order" model and not as a serial model

I have 5 teles so far. Fender, Squire, Reverend, Hamiltone, and an Ibanez Basilio. All have binding. I love guitars with binding. But G&L doesnt put binding on theirs or Id have one already. I dont know why because even low prices guitar brands like Harley Beton make guitars with binding. So its obviously not that expensive to do if a $200 guitar can come with it.
They do have some guitars with binding and you can order an American custom with binding.
He should've called it the "Finn Dirt L.E.-caster"

I don't understand this Gretsch copyright claim for an ordinary word like 'broadcaster'. It's not their word, they didn't create it - it already existed as an English word.
You cannot obtain a copyright registration for one word. A copyright only exists for original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression. A copyright protects literary, musical, artistic, and dramatic works. Imagine I called a device I made the 'Thing'.. I can't copyright 'thing', ot's no an original word created by me.
I think there’s some confusion between copyright which exists for artistic and published works, and trademark which protects identifiers in trade and commerce. The gretsch drums were branded Broadkaster, with a K. Evidently that was enough for them to trademark it within the world of musical instruments.
