I think Carrie didn't truly love Aiden. She liked him, he was a good person, kind, carrying. He is this type of men, who girls always feel comfortable with. But the sad truth is that some girls like Carrie are more into troublesome men as Mr. Big. She always had feelings for him in spite of all their ups and downs. I don't know the fandom but I was mesmerized by the storyline and how perfectly it seemed to fit the idea of this song. You made it clear, everything that happened between them in this arc, with a really wonderful and careful use of voiceovers combined with the lyric matching. I love how you captured this song SO well, the feelings and overall type of storyline that's explained within it, and didn't cut out any of the lyrics even if they didn't work exactly specifically - you always found something else instead to match to it that got the spirit just right! You captured both of their facial expressions' so well so you really felt Aiden's heartbreak at the beginning and Carrie's confusion and guilt and sadness over how everything had to turn out. And I love how what I'm guessing is the scene of her actually apparently getting engaged to him and saying yes, despite the actual lyrics being about a turned down proposal, could be worked into the video in the "she would've made such a lovely bride" section... So many creative and lovely choices throughout! I really loved how perfect the voiceover of Carrie's is with "what if they love me... and then we break up...?" for the lyrics about his family, it really made my emotions twist in exactly the right way. The emotion in the "this isn't the kind of thing I can get over", and that plaid shirt was the exact right choice for being close to a flannel one... then all the stuff with the new person he falls for, the fact that he appears to have had a baby with her? (I'm guessing? Hoping I'm not way off?) for the "your mom's ring in your pocket" at the end where this time it's for the new woman not Carrie, and them truly saying it's good to see each other after everything at the end with "You won't remember all my champagne problems..." it seemed like such a perfect ending! I really loved this a lot. :)

I was really hoping to match the feel of the lyrics when not being able to do it literally, so cool you picked up on that! Yeah she said yes to his proposal the second time they dated, although eventually she admitted she wasn't ready to get married, which she kinda knew already when she said yes. She was just so happy he had found a ring that was more suitable for her than the one she previously found in his things by accident. That pushed her past the doubt in that moment. And yeah she finds out towards the end of the show he had a baby with Kathy who was never shown, and then in the second movie it's revealed he ended up having 3 kids with Kathy and was very happy. So that all fit with the song, which I actually didn't remember, any of that Kathy stuff, when I started the video lol... sometimes I get lucky:D thanks again!

Im seeing lots of comments about Carrie not being good enough for Aiden. That's not it. They were just incompatible. Aiden was in love with Carrie, but she liked / loved him. He wanted to settle down with a comfortable, homely, life and tranquility at his cabin in the middle of nowhere. Carrie wanted the excitement and glamour and everything that New York could offer. They were both decent people but a poor match. Carrie was in love with Big. He provided the excitement and New York lifestyle that she loved.
Oh Aiden is played by this actor! I recognized him immediately but then doubted it as I kept watching until I double checked. I only really know him from Parenthood but it's still always fun to recognize someone plus to see them so much younger is also really interesting lol.
