We have a mattress from Brooklyn Bedding. We've had it for 4 years and still LOVE IT!! We need a new mattress for our RV. Now I know we can get it from Brooklyn Bedding.😊 Thank you Robert
Hi Robert, We drove to Alaska back in 1998. Just a couple of things to think about. I replaced the front lower part of my trailer so that the rocks that get kicked up did not beat up my trailer. I use FRP which is a fiberglass panel that is about 1/8" thick but it works very well to save your trailer. The other thing was to put a piece of mesh in front of the radiator to protect that from the rocks on the highway. Not sure what condition the Alaska highway is like now. When we went there were hours of waiting for an escort vehicle. Lastly I wrapped my PVC plumbing that was located under the trailer with a larger diameter PVC. This again was to protect the plumbing lines. Anyway we just got back from Alaska again. We were up there for few days just ahead of Memorial Weekend. Enjoy the drive. Keep track of the animals you will encounter for sure. You will have a great experience. Mark & Marsha
Robert, many auto detailing places that do wraps, also sell a clear plastic film that will cover the windshield and protect it from rock chips. They usually put it on exotic cars and it works really well! A friend of mine from Alaska said having only one spare tire is almost pointless. Most flats in Alaska are caused from big rocks, and you will usually run over them with both tires. This will destroy the tire in a way that it cannot be plugged or patched, and will need to be replaced. If you have the space I would definitely bring two for each vehicle! Getting two flat tires could add days or even weeks to your trip! Now you can make the case that a person should bring four tires, but sometimes you just need to play the odds, and hope it only gets one side. Have a great and safe journey Robert!
Once you get into Canada and then Alaska, be prepared to be completely self-sufficient. If you break down, it'll be up to you to make repairs to get to the next center of population (area with more than 4 people).
Robert, for 8 years, I lived in Barrow (now called its original name of Utiagivk) Alaska, which is where the true most northern point is located. When you get to Deadhorse (named after a fossil), you can take a small plane to Barrow. If you go as far as Deadhorse & Prudhoe Bay... why not fly the short hop to Barrow & put your feet at the real northernmost point of land. As for The Dalton, I really must also recommend a spare real (good) tire. It's not just about punctures. That road chews up tires. I'd honestly take TWO AND the puncture kit. Having worked for the North Slope Borough health & safety departments, you can not over-prepare for this trip. I LOVE Alaska, and you must go... but be very careful and have extra of everything. PS Make sure you have plenty of aluminum foil. Even with the best shades and curtains we and everyone that lives there puts tinfoil over the windows in the summer even in our homes. Nothing else keeps it dark enough to sleep.
@@TravelingRobert It does! Or it did anyway. Depending on when you go... you either have snow (even in July sometimes) or mud. Town is not a pretty place... but you can get a ride out to the tundra and the point... and it's wonderful. You may be tempted to walk (and should) but never go too far from others or the vehicle. Living there we did walk a lot... but we also carried guns if going far. Not only do polar bears frequent the area but so do arctic foxes and rabies is endemic. You can get a ride out to the monument out on the tundra marking where the famous Wiley Post & Will Rogers died in a small plane crash. The local airport is named for them. Check ahead for native festivals... they are awesome as is the local Native Inupiaq Heritage center. You may even get lucky and see them bring in a Bowhead whale. By treaty native Alaskan tribes are the only ones still allowed to hunt whales as it is central to their culture. A little background... while you may think the people there are poor... they are not. The Inupiat chose to incorporate instead of being a reservation. The town collects lease and tax money from Prudhoe Bay and other oil exploration. But the Arctic weather is harsh on homes and clothes... so people look less prosperous than they are. Their native corporation ASRC... is the richest in the State and has investments in all kinds of things around the world including aerospace. At least when I was there the bank in that tiny village handled more money daily than any other in Alaska. Unlike a lot of other native groups they are also politically powerful. They do not consider themselves related to the other tribes in Alaska such as the Athebascan. Those groups (once considered "Indian")... but the Inupiat (once called Eskimo... but DO not think of themselves as the same as other indian tribes. BTW NOT use the term Eskimo as they consider it offensive. It was a french term used to describe them as eaters of raw flesh) . They call themselves Inupiat... which translates to "the real people". They've used the oil money for good purposes though. Even the smaller villages of the North Slope have running water & sewage to homes which cost billions of dollars... which is why many other small villages off the North Slope still carry water and use a bucket system for toilets. You'll see the high school. It has a swimming pool, wood & metal shop, etc all used by the community. When it was built it was the most expensive high school ever built anywhere. It's a very unique place full of contrasts. Unless They've changed recently the town is "dry"... no alcohol as there is a problem with alcoholism. They were never exposed to any alcohol until the early 1900s and have no tolerance for it. When I first moved there it was "damp" and you could bring in alcohol for your own use but then the council and town voted to make it all illegal though bootlegging is still a problem. Bring your binoculars! The bird watching is top notch with many species spending the summer there. You will probably be there when the sun does not set... but it does get close to the horizon and the sky will be the most gorgeous reds, oranges, & yellows much of the morning & "night". It's like sunrise & sunset last most of the day
Been away for a few months at my new job…. And every time I come back to your channel “everything”, especially the video editing gets better and better. Been watching you since 2018!

We loved our trip to Alaska. It was our first actual trip, 2018. LOL Did what everyone said we shouldn't but it was fun! We learned a lot from it and it made us want and buy a larger RV!
I had a camper for 10+ years. I no longer have one but my adventures haven't stopped. I'm fortunate to be able to still travel but I fly to a destination now. I'm going to Anchorage in November and I'll be there through Christmas. I'll visit the area on my day off. It's another state on my list! It's # 43.

That mattress was a perfect purchase for such a long trip...great to know there's a place where you can get one made in the USA 🇺🇸 to meet your specific requirements...
I was in Alaska last week with my family. While in Anchorage, we took the Glacier Discovery train to Whittier, and the Phillips Cruises 26 Glaciers tour was highly recommended. We then rode the Greay Line Lukery Dome Rail Adventure to Denali Park. The next day we took the Tundra Wilderness tour. If you want to go past milepost 15, it will take you to mile 43. The day after, we took the Wildens Express Lukery dome to Fairbanks. On our last day, we took the Riverboat Discovery tour and saw the Iditarod winner Susan Butcher's home kennels. Stopped off at Chena Indian Village.
Hello Traveling Robert, I'm loving the route that your taking from Miami to West Memphis, TN. This is going to be a once in a lifetime trip to Alaska. Robert, I can't wait to follow you along and check out Hot Springs National Park next week. Awesome start to Alaska Robert! Outstanding!
So looking forward to the adventures in this series. My father traveled to Alaska many years ago, the AL-Can highway as he described it was full of all kinds of hazards with very few places to fuel ,make repairs, etc This was back in the mid-1950s. Perhaps things are a bit more civilved now, but I would over prepare rather than be caught in the middle of nowhere with bears around and mosquitoes trying to eat me alive . Always enjoy the channel
Made the trip in 77 from Lafayette La. And back!! Milepost is best buy you can make!! It will tell you Mile by Mile what towns are coming up what stores are road side what groceries they have and what brands of beer they sell?! Also tell you when roadside toilets there are!! When we went it wasn't paved yet but they were working on it!!!
Hey Robert. I am really looking forward to your Alaska videos. I got a kick out of the guy that you were mooch docking at. We do have paved roads up here in Canada.
Robert, we love watching you drive through our home state of Alabama. You drove through one of our vacation spots at Eufaula, AL. It’s a small town, but there’s a beautiful campground on the lake called White Oak Creek.
RE: outfitting MiniTini IV for the Alaska trip--I think it would be cool to see a photo of all the equipment you're taking along, laid out in front of the Space Ship and the trailer (like the back cover of the Pink Floyd album Ummagumma, for example). Trip planning software has certainly come a long way, no doubt about it. Almost makes you wonder how people did it in the "old days", eh? (AAA guidebooks, maps and Trip Tiks, anyone? 🙂) Regardless of how you get there, I'm sure you'll have a grand adventure. Happy trails!
Looking forward to this trip. Thank you for taking us along. Have you tried to get in touch with Dustin Porter from Destination Adventure? That would be a great collaboration!
My husband and I just made this, virtually, same trip!!! We started in Key West and travelled to Valdez, Alaska. We're working at the KOA in Valdez for the summer. What an awesome journey! The worst part of the Alcan was from Destruction Bay, Yukon to Tok, Alaska. It was SLOOOOOWWW going, but we made it. As long as you TAKE YOUR TIME, you'll be fine!!! I just found your channel and subscribed immediately! I'll be watching intently. If I could be of any help or if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! If you have plans to come to Valdez, please stop by and say, "Hi!" Safe travels to you!
I love the look of the mattress and looks comfy and made in USA! I bet some good words was said when you noticed it was upside down and trying not to knock everything down getting it turned over. Can't wait for the trip to Alaska. I want one of those tire covers.
$1700 dollars with the discount for that mattresss, maybe they need to stop giving them away to all the influencers; not that Robert hasn't earned a freebie here and there.
Looking forward to watching this trip. We just got back from Traveling US 50 from Ohio to Sacramento CA, then on to Napa, then up the CA coast to Ft Bragg. From Ft Bragg we traveled to Boise to visit our Daughter and Son in Law. On the way home we drove US 2 from Washington State all the way to Michigan then down I-75 to back home. Took about 3 1/2 weeks but like you I enjoy driving off the Interstates. Good luck and safe travels.
I enjoy watching your videos, nicely done. We crossed into Canada on 6-1, headed to Alaska, hope you travel safe and have as much fun as we are. Maybe we'll see you in Alaska.
I livea few miles north of Hot Springs, Arkansas. I have dug at the Coleman crystal mines, the big one and the lesser known small one. Have fun in Hot Springs when you get there.
My wife and I did this trip from Anchorage to Orange County, CA in August 2019, we had a Mercedes Benz SUV which we bought used in Anchorage ( you can’t rent for this trip as much of it goes through Canada). We took our time stayed 2 very nice days in Whitehorse, Yukon and good a private boat cruise a long the Yukon River, went through Banff National park and Jasper, also Glacier NP. It took us 21 days. Especially in the Yukon Territory there will be 100’s of miles with no radio, no internet and hardly any life. It forced me and my wife to really connect and we’ve been married 40 years. Make sure you stay a night or 2 in a real hotel to treat yourselves, maybe at the start of AL/CAN highway, in Dawson Creek. There is a nice Holiday Inn Express there. Good luck!
Thanks for sharing the tools and sites you use to plan. I’m planning two trips to the northeast and the Pacific Northwest this year; I plan to use your videos and some of these tools to help. Thanks!! 😀
Robert- having been to Fairbanks about 10 years ago and drove the Dalton Highway all the way to Prudhoe Bay, AK. A few items I strongly strongly suggest. When you stop in Fairbanks you MUST go to HooDoo Brewery. When in Cold foot. You MUST eat at the truck stop they have the best food. Eat at the bar and enjoy a Coldfoot Pilsner. In Prudhoe Bay, you must sign up for a tour to the Arctic Ocean. Although this must be scheduled ahead of time as they do run background checks on all people going to the Arctic Ocean.
Hope you're having a great time and have an amazing and epic trip! If you go by Ottawa, Ontario in Canada, please let us know as we'd love to meet you guys, maybe all go out for supper!!!
WTG, Robert and the race of time is on! Wishing you an awesome trip, and be sure to share your border security “Declaration“ preparations before crossing the Canadian border! (Poor Lady Bugout)
Not having a tire plug kit cost me 3 hours and $34 15 miles into my big May trip when the low pressure light on my truck came on and discovered a screw in a tire. Really wish Google maps had a speed adjustment tool so you don't feel like you're constantly falling behind when towing at reduced speed with their time estimates.
Bob I’ve not caught up w your travels for sometime my fault lol I always look forward to them keeping me inspired to always plan an adventure❤️✌🏻safe travels!!
That's exactly where I want to visit Biff National Park, other Parks and I want to visit an Rodeo ( the biggest one in the world ). Robert , you named several "UA-camrs " who I been watching for years. Less junk and more journey , Keep your daydream ( marc / trish ), etcc , We visited 9 States , where I have been too (except for las vegas ), and it was one of the highlights to our trip. I have10 more States to visit and then I have seen all 50 States. Canada one of these years, I want to travel too. I have been to Niagra Falls, Canada.
That campground was pretty steep for what they offer. There's really not much out that way off I22 though being its still a fairly new freeway. They just built that stretch in the late 90s.
hi Robert, as far as the wall anchors go, just purchase some wall zip anchors. You will have to drill a hole first to insert the anchor, and then pull the zip cord. I have found these to be the strongest.
We’ve driven from Melbourne Florida to anchorage Alaska and from Alaska to Orlando. LOL!!! 😂 it’s an awesome trip. And we’ve traveled from Utah to Alaska in the bone chillin winter too - the month of February where the lakes freezer so clear you can see the bottom. Lovely trips.
I was literally right there in Montgomery last week for a retirement seminar. i parked right outside that RSA building you and minnie tinnie drove by!!
this is going to be a great trip. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all. Hopefully if you have good tires, and keep them properly inflated, one spare for truck and one spare for trailer should be fine. Looking forward to next Sunday am. As always, safe travels.....
U should go to Alaska! It is a beautiful place on earth you must go from north to south and East to west! I used to live there in Fairbanks about 8-9 years.
Been looking forward to this trip for a while Mr. Robert. It seems from IG that you are making excellent progress. Safe journey to you and Miss Ily... 👍👍🍻

Thanks!! 😀
Boy if anyone can make that trip it's Robert, look forward seeing your progress on that one be careful and stay safe 👍
Enjoy the trip. I am a fan of Roadtrippers. Looking forward to your adventure!
Good luck in your trip
I'm really looking forward to this adventure to Alaska.
Hope everything goes well Robert enjoy your trip
This trip is going to be so much fun! Safe travels!
Hope you're having a great time and have an amazing and epic trip! If you go by Ottawa, Ontario in Canada, please let us know as we'd love to meet you guys, maybe all go out for supper!!!
Felicidades Robertico! This is one of our bucket list destinations, looking forward to watching!
WTG, Robert and the race of time is on! Wishing you an awesome trip, and be sure to share your border security “Declaration“ preparations before crossing the Canadian border! (Poor Lady Bugout)
I'm really looking forward to this adventure, Robert 😊 Safe Travels
Not having a tire plug kit cost me 3 hours and $34 15 miles into my big May trip when the low pressure light on my truck came on and discovered a screw in a tire. Really wish Google maps had a speed adjustment tool so you don't feel like you're constantly falling behind when towing at reduced speed with their time estimates.
Bob I’ve not caught up w your travels for sometime my fault lol I always look forward to them keeping me inspired to always plan an adventure❤️✌🏻safe travels!!
Existing to see this season, waited 2 years for this.
That's exactly where I want to visit Biff National Park, other Parks and I want to visit an Rodeo ( the biggest one in the world ).
Robert , you named several "UA-camrs " who I been watching for years. Less junk and more journey , Keep your daydream ( marc / trish ), etcc ,
We visited 9 States , where I have been too (except for las vegas ), and it was one of the highlights to our trip.
This is the big one ladies and gentlemen
Good for you
I wish I had that fast forward when I am in traffic! I bet you do too!
I was in Jacksonville, Fl the day before. It was gorgeous.
hi Robert, as far as the wall anchors go, just purchase some wall zip anchors.
This was an excellent video!! Ty
So happy to see your trip up here. I wonder if you’ll get here in time for the Scottish Highland Games on the 24th.
Ohhh, this will be a lovely and exciting adventure. Safe travels and clear internet availability 😊
I'm doing the same trip, again.
You'll love it. 👍
I always enjoy watching your channel! I wish I could travel now but hopefully when I retire!
You are basically the Cuban Nomadic Fanatic (Eric), but far less corrupt and scammy.
Great work Rob!
Great video Robert
The world chico, and everything in it.
It would have been fun if you took Mini Tini IV down to Key West and started the trip to the very North down there 🙂
Welcome to Alaska hope you have a wonderful time ❤
We live in Anchorage 😊
U should go to Alaska! It is a beautiful place on earth you must go from north to south and East to west! I used to live there in Fairbanks about 8-9 years.
Been looking forward to this trip for a while Mr. Robert. It seems from IG that you are making excellent progress. Safe journey to you and Miss Ily... 👍👍🍻
