When i was a child growing up in the 60's and 70's in northern New England, we had what was called "Indian Summer," which gave us a final warm push before the cold, snowy, dark, of Winter. The weather we are having right now in Maine remind me of those days. I haven't seen an "Indian Summer" like this since the late 90's, and before that, during my childhood. Every time we had strong "Indian Summers," we could count on a very cold and snowy Winter. This year seems very similar.
Indian summer can result in late first frost=below 40 overnight and the frost trying to form, what's the normal impact for December I'm thinking that central eastern Nebraska has a normal probability of white Xmas
Lived in RI my whole life minus a year in Massachusetts and I remember the same. Get ready for no school Foster/Glocester. Miss Salty Brien and the old days. This adult crap is overrated 😊
I learned about it when I was in Wisscassat about 12 years ago, Someone pointed out the pattern in the sky and showed me how instead of disappearing like a contrails, it expands and covers the sun. All while dumping chemicals all over everything.
You mentioned the U.P. of Michigan twice! Great analysis of what's likely to come this winter. I'm always very happy with your seasonal outlook forecasts.
Thanks POW 💥 for your La Niña forecast going into the fall and winter months. I really appreciate all of your hard work on keeping everyone updated. Keep up the amazing job you continue doing everyday. 👍🏻🍂🍁☕️🏈🌨️🍂🪸🍁🌤️☕️
Thank you POW for alerting me of above average temperatures and below average precipitation. I am now going to conserve as much water as possible and use it for needed purposes. I will now be simulating thunderstorms and other weather patterns. Also, thank you for alerting me of a likely exceptional drought. Thanking you from central Texas
I want wetter too in southern Colorado…I know I live in Colorado, but where I live is more like weather in Amarillo - moved up here from Dallas. Could not take that heat any more!
Ty Roy thanks for the sneak peek into the winner of course we all know this is a little soon don't really know what's going to happen but I hope we get some snow this year I really do we didn't get maybe 3 in of snow last season the whole season it was horrible it was the worst winter I can remember in my lifetime.
La Nina needs to bring north central Texas alot of rain .. but unfortunately it's typical playbook of September to be dry and hot still ... Maybe October weather will find Texas some colder weather an definitely alot of rain 🌧️
Will La Nina supercharge next year's severe weather season across the US like it does most La Nina years? I wouldn't be shocked if it does happen, and this year was active on the tornado front across the country despite El Nino which normally isn't that very favorable as they say for severe weather. However, different patterns this past Spring compared to normal during El Ninos allowed tornado activity in the US to skyrocket during the peak of the season.
I live in Richmond, VA. Warm and dry predictions look to setup another no or little snow winter for the 3rd year in a row. Last year we actually had the wettest winter in like 100 years but it was only cold enough to snow once. In general, maybe it just doesn't get cold enough in Richmond to snow much anymore....
I'm from Boston area and we're in Indian summer right now, but it's going to change tomorrow, I don't think we'll see 80+° anymore, the real fall weather hopefully starts tomorrow with cooler temps.
I've been seeing alot of analysts saying that this is gearing up to be a very weak La Nina unless something has changed, which would mean a more severe winter than we usually get in the Midwest
Looking forward for some snow ❄️. Drivers should be home and leave the driving to us 😂. We will leave the light on for night time and the tank battle will continue on for the day light. 🤪
I am hoping that every possible exception to your forecast renders a much colder Oct/Nov/Dec. in the mid Atlantic and north east. I’m so done with “above average” temperatures.
El Niño was an El Nono and it never showed up. We had no wetter and cooler winter . I can only hope La Niña does the same. The climatological models on Enso don’t work anymore as the planet warms the ocean to the brink
@@oldjarhead386 No sir, not anywhere near its historical effects. here in NM we had no increase in precipitation. The data is all there and crystal clear.
It will be interesting to see if the other internet weather sites pick up on this "transition to La Nina". As of this moment I don't think they have. Not sure what this is telling us.
Good Tuesday afternoon to y'all to have a awesome day to everyone today to have a lovely day to you to 🤘😌💕💓☀️🌞☀️🌞☀️🌞☀️🌞🍒💥❤️💗💞🤟✌️🤘 it is a beautiful Sunny day and hot day to you to on September 17 it is a georgias Sunny sky day to everyone today to
I can't speak for anyone else, but I wish you could just do a straight forward forecast without all of the meteorological geekiness! I don't care about ENSO this or ENSO that, ensembles or anomalies. Just try doing a five to seven day forecast for the major regions and brief 14 day outlook. After about five minutes of your weather geek out, it just becomes noise and I move on to some other weather channel that exercise some brevity.
Good Tuesday night to everyone tonight to y'all to have a relaxing night to you to have a awesome night to y'all to have a fantastic Tuesday night to you to it is a clear sky night to you to look at the moon and stars to you to ✨⭐💫🌒🌜🌛🌝🌟💓💕❤️💥💗💞🤟✌️🤘❤️😌👫😊🌜🌛🌝🌚🌝 on September 17

I like the sounds of that im supposed to be working at saddleback this winter

Almost like they s pray aluminum in the sky and alter weather

I really enjoy your channel. I get so tired of our local weather folks with their teaser forecast and usless information. Thanks for what you do.
So what your saying is you watch your local news feed because of " man , look at the outfit she has on today " WOW.
Hello, POW 💥 and everyone, from DFW!
Hello to you from D/FW!
DFW in the house? 🎉
I like much warmer than normal temperatures for the Winter. Works for me.
Nice looking snow picture, that would be neat to see something like that here in north Texas.wishful thinking,THANKS FOR THE UPDATE WOTG.
😂
Warm and dry winter in SC, very nice!
Thank you so much for the awesome updates pow. Your awesome❤❤❤❤
Can we just skip September for the south, especially Texas? Fall seems to be less every year!
Thanks for your Daily reports POW🤘
Need tropical rain 15+ inches in Central Texas.
Good Morning 😊 Thanks POW
💥! Hoping everyone has a wonderful rest of the day 😊✨☀️🍁💥🍂🌰🐿️
@@Stormy7573 🙏❤️
Hopefully Florida will be in a nice chilly and cold 🥶 winter.
Thank you POW!!! Been awfully dry in Maine these recent weeks. Beautiful still nonetheless ☀️🐮🍁🍂🍃
After a very we wet June and July, virtually no rain for most of Iowa in Sept! In west central Iowa where I live 17 straight days no rain!
You mentioned the U.P. of Michigan twice! Great analysis of what's likely to come this winter. I'm always very happy with your seasonal outlook forecasts.
Thank you for posting this 👍🇺🇸👍
I have missed you POW! Somehow, lost your channel. You are the best weather forecaster. Thanks! I LL try to keep you on.
Welcome back! Save as a favorite POW Ponder on Weather. Thank you!
As a Texas Panhandle resident, me no likely La Nina
El Nino wasn't good to us in south central Texas for the past two summers (dry). Will not be able to tell the difference between La Nina or El Nino
Nice job. I check the Phoenix weather often. I open the shades for a second.
Bless your man Straw brother
Really hope we get a cold snowy winter in southern Indiana
Hey, keep up the good work. I like the detailed forecasts that you provide.

Idk I want a good cool wet winter in Texas
I want wetter too in southern Colorado…I know I live in Colorado, but where I live is more like weather in Amarillo - moved up here from Dallas. Could not take that heat any more!
Thanks for looking at the drought in WV and Ohio. We got a little rain from the tropical depression, but not much.
Why I don’t think I’m too worried about Fla being drier than usual this winter. Tampa international airport has 18+ inches of rain above normal.
the woolly bear catapillars are more orange in the mid-atlantic. we will start off mild and then it will get very cold with snow. 🤔
Cheers bro!!!

Warm here in Louisiana. Thinking we will have a nice mild winter. We do need Rain!!! Would love a wet, warm, mild winter!!!!
Very dry and warm in upper Michigan. It’s still like July. Much warmer than most of August.
Thank you sir
La Nina needs to bring north central Texas alot of rain .. but unfortunately it's typical playbook of September to be dry and hot still ...
Maybe October weather will find Texas some colder weather an definitely alot of rain 🌧️
Ive learned so much from your channel. Thanks man.
Glad to help
I WANT SNOW in NJ!!! Lots of snow and cold!!!
Hope we start to get moisture here in western Missouri, we are so so dry
Florida above average temperatures....what a surprise. What a swamp!
Soon we'll be 'Walking in a Winter Ponderland'.
Thanks 👍🏻
We already have snow on the mountains today here in northern Utah!
I saw it snowed this morning in Sugarloaf, Utah.

Great. 😢. Texas panhandle needs the moisture
Just wondering about severe weather outbreak upcoming October November and December
I hate this winter outlook.
NICHOLAS COUNTY WEST VIRGINIA RICHWOOD. 4 DAYS OF WATER LEFT

Yeah almost like it changes over time
Great 👍

Wow we’ve been in the 50’s and 60’s for the past 2 weeks , fall must be hitting us early in the PNW😂🤘
I wonder if we will ever get snow in NC again in my lifetime? I need snow ! I guess I need to move up north 😕
I've been seeing alot of analysts saying that this is gearing up to be a very weak La Nina unless something has changed, which would mean a more severe winter than we usually get in the Midwest
Yes, a weak LaNina is forecasted.
Hurricane Season goes to Nov 30...2 months and change to go. If only it only went to November showing up.
Yes, I know that. 10 tropical storms and 3 hurricanes have struck the US since 1851. November is pretty rare for US impacts.
thank you for these video' 👍
You’re welcome!
Northeast Ohio
Zero rain for over 10 days, maybe later this week?
Looking forward for some snow ❄️. Drivers should be home and leave the driving to us 😂. We will leave the light on for night time and the tank battle will continue on for the day light. 🤪
I am hoping that every possible exception to your forecast renders a much colder Oct/Nov/Dec. in the mid Atlantic and north east. I’m so done with “above average” temperatures.
Not what I wanted to hear, living in central Texas, because we really need rain. Maybe next spring will see some relief.
El Niño was an El Nono and it never showed up. We had no wetter and cooler winter . I can only hope La Niña does the same. The climatological models on Enso don’t work anymore as the planet warms the ocean to the brink
It totally showed up last winter!
@@oldjarhead386 No sir, not anywhere near its historical effects. here in NM we had no increase in precipitation. The data is all there and crystal clear.
So everyone was saying colder a week ago & now it's warmer. So El Nino & LA Nina give PA warm temps no matter what, sucks to be us.
Please tell me that NC is going to get some snow this year we haven’t seen any snow in the past 3 years
The UP is not at all in drought. We are soaked here. Please update your map.
Still questions how strong the nina gets most model consensus is -1.0 or less
Favors to be a weak La Nina and also short lived being more Neutral again by next Spring.
@@POWPonderonWeather yeah so the typical la Nina thinking might be wrong you think the strong negative pdo gonna feed into that ?
I also think it migrate back and forth from east to central based
Pdo is strongly positive dummy
It will be interesting to see if the other internet weather sites pick up on this "transition to La Nina". As of this moment I don't think they have. Not sure what this is telling us.
Why doesn't CT get blizzards anymore 😢😢😮
Is it going to be a very wet winter in California
The opposite
Wait... wait... wait. We left El Niño in February for LA Niña. This is flip flopping every 2 months.
The Ohio Valley is going to get snow!!? j/k we all know that.
NEOK is STILL in a drought. We need Rain.
It's not nice trying to predict mother nature😊
So he's guessing
😶🌫️
Trump will now have to deal with drought too. Great! (sarcasm)
