Listening to this was like saying hello to an old friend. As a person who owns every single Layton game in the series, this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for this.
I actually have practically every single Layton game! The only ones that I have left are the katrielle game and the ace attorney crossover one! The katrielle one will arrive very soon, and I plan to get the ace attorney one after I actually play the phoenix wright trilogy! I’m so glad the Layton series is not dead!

Gosh, this makes my day. Professor Layton was such a massive part of gaming life as a teenager; getting to hear such an incredible cover- one which mixes Tomohito's Frenchish musical style with your jazz proficiency- almost brings a tear to my eye. Great work ^_^
Oh my god yes. I've loved the Professor Layton series since the first game on the DS and have always thought the ost was horribly underrated. This already sounds great. Edit: just finished watching and yes it's as great as I thought. The minor changes around the second half really helped this stand out but it's never unidentifiable as the theme of Professor Layton. This was brilliant and now I will listen to it again and again for the rest of the day.
@@jackhoward705 YES! And the ending theme from the first game... god, makes me cry every time. And the Future theme is such a freakin Bop. So much classical orchestral Jazz...
I choose to ignore the fact that you wrote this over 2 years ago and pretend this was because of my comment last video asking for it... regardless, great job as always. love it!
This was unexpected. This series was actually my favorite growing up and I had thought most people forgot about it. Super happy to hear this after waking up :)
"That should do it! Every puzzle has an answer." this certainly feels like a cover that solves all MY problems today~ thanks for the good music, as always
Thanks! Partially me, partially my mixer! I actually just got a new snare that sounds even better than this snare I’m using on my kit in this video haha
damn i remember as a kid watching my friend playing this game, with these amazing ost that fit so perfectly, i knew nothing about it but i was so interested, mezmerized, for a kid like me this was nothing else than a mistery (funny because this game is about misteries), yesterday i finished layton and the curious village and what a game... how is it even possible to create such a masterpiece?
I keep coming back to this video because it's so good. I was listening on my headphones and realized that from about 4:30 on, the video shows tenor on the left and clarinet on the right but the audio has them reversed
Anyone remember that Carlos learned the accordion, like, a few weeks ago ?? This instrument is supposed to be super hard and requires a huge amount of training. Insane in the train.
I'm so glad to hear Professor Layton make it onto the channel. All of the live music is beautiful, and this arrangement is astounding as well! Here's hoping there could be some more songs from this series will catch your ear in the future!

Love how the melody parts basically didn't need to be changed, bc (I never thought abt it like thay but) this song is basically already a jazz standard! Nice interpretation!

When Carlos was learning the accordion for Kass’s theme, it must of reminded him of a puzzle. But seriously, this sounds amazing! Like, I really could see this as one of the themes for the game (I haven’t played one of the games yet, but the soundtrack is killer). The accordion is great, and the Sax and Clarinet were also killer, and the piano, drums and shaker in the back added a ton. Everything just sounded good, maybe I just appreciate all the parts I really don’t know, but it still is a stupendous piece. It’s a true gentleman’s arrangement.
