All of the words in the cloud are true for me, but there is one missing. It's an abstract description, but I've begun only buying cameras that have a "soul". (Definition: noun. The principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans is regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans is distinct from the physical part.) Many cameras have form & function, but they don't have a soul. They don't have a spirit that speaks to me. They lack character and the shooting experience is lacking. They don't make me feel good about taking photos. If you've collected vintage film cameras for a while you know what I'm talking about. I shoot with both the Mamiya 6 & 7 because they have souls. I've recently begun using the Contax G2 system because it has a soul. I don't think we'll see eBay listings with "Near Mint Soul", it has to be determined by using the camera.
i'd say for me the soul basically anything i have affective memory of or i think is a "sexy" piece of machinery or make me enjoy the materiality of using the camera (delicious shutter sound, smooth focus and aperture rings and shutter winder)
@arricammarques1955 Tried using yarn. Couldn't close the film door. Tried craft foam, same. Frustrating. Are the light seals around the mirror & shutter housing LESS important. ?
@@thevoiceman6192You *could*, but run the risk of it getting gummy and leaving residue. Gaffer tape would be better, but it is a little more expensive.

Are zero light seals a deal breaker? Can you still use without them?
Bad light seals will flash your negatives. However installing new light seals an easier & affordable option.

You could tape the seams with electrical tape?

Replacing light seals is super cheap and easy to do
This whole time I thought you were in Canada.
I am honored that you would think that
