My number one self-care act I rarely see mentioned anywhere. It's: Daydreaming! I can't think of anything better than to lay back (or go for a walk) with music blaring in my ears and go on epic adventures that I decide on and no one can judge. It's the best! 🥰🥰🥰 Great video as always. Always a self-care act to watch your videos ❤
This is my biggest self-care strategy. It helps me when I'm having panic attacks, thought spirals, or if I want to just sleep (like an alternative to super long depression naps). I love creating the worlds and daydreams in my head and just live in them while listening to music. Its the absolute best
A good walk by the waterfront which is close to home and being at one with nature is what helps me to take stock and relax. Love your videos by the way, Caitlin!
Totally agree about doing stuff on Friday instead of all on Sunday/Saturday. Did my laundry Friday night last week and it was the best decision haha… gonna do a load tonight too 🥰
Yes, I have been doing Chores on Thursdays or Fridays and it is a game changer. I love having my whole weekend free for whatever I want. BTW, I love the Batman movies.
This is all such useful advice. I've been using the wine glass trick whenever I am trying to lower my alcohol intake but still tempted by the act of having a drink or the feeling of "unwinding" that comes from sitting down sipping a drink. Works every time :)
This works also if you are pregnant and can't drink. I use it all the time. Not a big drinker but love me a wine or gin glass with sparkling flavoured water and some ice
I take a walk in nature and really listen and pay attention to the birds, new buds, trees, wildlife…I use all my senses. Instead of listening to a podcast like I used to do while walking, I just listen to nature. The exercise and fresh air refresh my mind, body & soul. Thanks for the tips…I need to check out that book and recipe! I put sparkling water in a glass, but also add a slice of lemon or lime, makes it pretty & refreshing. 🍋🍈
My number one self-care act is what I like to call “Getting back to my bones”. By this I mean I pick back up where I left off on certain things such as scrapbooking to kind of re-center myself. This helps me remember things from the past and helps me feel grounded and proud of how far I’ve come in life.
I clean my house and like changing my towels and bedding just before I leave for a long weekend trip or a short vacation so I come back to fresh clean linens and towels. Feels good to come back to a clean place.
Your coffee with the foamy top and wide glass mug looks so delicious! I love my coffee time in the morning. Those pancakes look good too. What helps me reset is taking the time to do a quick organization of my bedroom ans put things back in their places.
And for self-care, for me doing my nails does wonders for me. I usually allow myself to just watch UA-cam while I do it but since it's costs some attention it really helps me focus and set my mind straight :) Currently making some clouds on my nails!
I love doing things like going for a walk in a nice park, wandering around an art museum/ gallery, and most recently I've been making origami paper cranes to give my brain a moment of relaxing and to trying being mindful.
I have one of those microwaveable heating pads that my physical therapist told me to use to help heal a rotator cuff injury. I don’t need to use it as often for that, but it’s become a self care routine for me. Any joint that’s not happy, whether it’s a strained ankle, my shoulder, or whatever, gets some time with the heating pad while I cuddle with my dog. My enjoyment of this actually will probably change once the weather warms up, but for now, I love it!
Self care for me: taking a walk by myself with a podcast - without my dog (he can be quite stressful on walks sometimes haha). Reading mid day with a cup of coffee and some snacks, and also painting/bujo-prepping.
I love to journal and daydream as selfceare but also cleaning is so therapeutic. Could you possible share/create a playlist of the videos you're watching to learn about financing/investing?
Loved this 💜 Made me laugh xD I love the idea of pouring other drinks into wine glasses! I also almost cried hearing you talk about Adriene. I've been procrastinating doing her videos because she always hits a spot that ends with me in tears. I love seeing your forms of self-care, they've helped me immensely in learning what self-care looks like for me. Also yes! Having to clean things that are meant for cleaning 🤯why?? Thank you for creating and sharing 💕
Walking outside in nature and just listening to all Gods wonders! Thanking Him for all His beauty each and every day of my life!!!!! Also sitting down and cuddling in a warm blanket with a good book!!!!!
Oh my. I love the quote about thoughts. As someone with GAD, MDD, PMDD a lot of functioning in my life is navigating my (often anxious/depressive) thoughts. My typical go to quote to help with it is from Hunger Games: Mockingjay--Real or Not Real? I try to determine if the thought is actually true or if its a distortion or falsehood
I'm going through my spring cleaning over multiple weeks as I have time and energy -- and last week I cleaned out my tub drain! Gross, but it needed to be done.
I interpreted “learning time” very literally and it took me longer than it should’ve to realise we weren’t about to learn about sun dials or time zones or something.
You need a mini plastic snake for your drain - long plastic strip with spikes on the sides. It's gross when you use it, but in a house with long-haired humans, it's an absolute necessity. Any hardware store should have them, and I've seen them at some grocery and dollar stores as well.
I did yoga by candlelight for 30 days, lit 2 pillar candles on my altar every night and I got through it without any fire incidents. Incense on the other hand, got me one night. I kicked the incense stand over and I have a little burn mark on my foot to remember it by.
I guess my go to self care habits that I have are make sure my nails are done. It’s like I could look busted and disgusted but if my nails are done it feels like I’m gonna be ok. Also I put on makeup every day, I don’t do a full face just a tinted moisturizer, my eyebrows, and some eyeshadow and mascara, eyeliner if I’m really feeling myself. It makes me feel good about myself
For me my number 1 self care tip is eating lots of high quality ethical veggies and protien and healthy fats regularly. and hydrating. and self compassion
What were your thoughts on The Batman? I absolutely LOVED IT! I found Robert was amazing as the batman, such a dark gritty noir film. Colin Farrell was completely unrecognisably good. I loved all the cast :D
I love having my kitchen cleaned that is a daily thing I do for self care then I am motivated to make good food and it also feels one less thing to worry about. I love you plan with me videos also I am a big romance book nerd.
What are your favorite investment things that you’ve been listening to or reading to get started? I’m at the very beginning and would love to learn more!! ◡̈ P.S. my favorite self care tip is baking and sharing the goodies with my friends and family, coloring with colored pencils, singing in the shower, and making sure I put lotion on my body every day (gotta take care of the skin too- it’s the little things)

Crazy what a game changer it is, right?!

Reading my mind with needing some self care items!! Where’s that you don’t always need the glamour to make it self care 🥰🥰
💛💛💛 yes!! Doesn’t always have to be glamorous to be effective 🙌
I go and watch the ocean. Makes me feel calm and reconnect. 🌊
Bullet Journaling!! Getting my to do list on paper and out of my head (and updating all my trackers) feels so good!
I love doing things like going for a walk in a nice park, wandering around an art museum/ gallery, and most recently I've been making origami paper cranes to give my brain a moment of relaxing and to trying being mindful.
Caitlin's is such a great motivation for me on my own UA-cam journey, I am glad I was motivated by this women.

my moment of self care currently has been to go get my nails done, I never imagined I would love it so much!
Enjoyed the video❤A walk by the river or sea when I can get there helps and scents❤

Those hair (and everything else) catchers have saved my sinks (especially the kitchen) and shower! And they're dirt cheap at the Dollarstore.
OMG! I'm not the only one! Something about Fridays gives me good vibes for gysting! :)
I‘m so ready for anything selfcare related bc thats what i need atm
I feel ya !! Hope it gives you some inspo 🥰
@@caitlinmariedasilva yes it did ❤️❤️

I can’t wait to read that book!

I love this video!
My number one is going to my bed early, and sitting in bed and reading. It gives me time to decompress, and get out of my head.

YESSS TEAM ROB FANS UNITE 🤩 The Batman was so so so good 😭😭
I just don't understand why you don't have sooooo much more followers :D
What were your thoughts on The Batman? I absolutely LOVED IT! I found Robert was amazing as the batman, such a dark gritty noir film. Colin Farrell was completely unrecognisably good. I loved all the cast :D
This video is full of so many good thoughts and ideas, thanks! I'm gonna drink some water out of a wine glass right now.
May God grants you different types of blessing!
I love having my kitchen cleaned that is a daily thing I do for self care then I am motivated to make good food and it also feels one less thing to worry about. I love you plan with me videos also I am a big romance book nerd.
Hmmm I don’t drink but I think I’m gonna do that wine glass thing with some cranapple

A cold shower resets my brain!!!
Do you go for walks? That could always help as well :)
Random comment but i thought you were the figure skating champion Gabriella Papadakis for a second 😋
My go to self-care move is forcing me to get enough hours of sleep 😌
I'm first here ❤️❤️ love you
💛💛 so fast! Hope you enjoy!
when you started talking about investing, my brain was like: 👁👄👁
Need to take out the garbage. Watching the video instead. Timely procrastination!
I’m currently staring at a pile of recycling calling my name 🤪💛
Did you like the Batman?
