Joe Duplantier said in an interview that Esoteric Surgery is too hard for him to play and do vocals at the same time live and that's why they'll never play it. That's crazy huh? Lol
It's kinda crazy to me because all songs in The Way Of All Flesh album has those outro that keep teasing Esoteric Surgery for entire time, just to never play it live
Gojira has sick riffs! I don't find them too hard to play, but they have these weird tones, sounds and nuances that are challanging to replicate closely, like specific harmonics or slides. And we can't forget about the timings.
Recently found Gojira played on hurdy. Damn, it puts on it so well as well (more 'well' to the God In Well)... Especially L'Elefant Sausage and Gift of Guilt. This riffs are truly sick.
That riff from esoteric surgery is soooo sick, but playing the whole song is brutal on the picking hand. Also very glad to see ya throw space time in there, that s my personal favorite song by them

You have crisp, powerful sound like a razor, so I suggest you... record the Razor hardest songs! I made a list of songs from which you can take riffs: 1985 - Executioner’s Song - City of Damnation 1985 - Evil Invaders - Tortured Skull 1986 - Malicious Intent - A.O.D. 1987 - Custom Killing - Forced Annihilation 1988 - Violent Restitution - The Marshall Arts 1988 - Violent Restitution - Enfoncer 1990 - Shotgun Justice - Stabbed in the Back 1990 - Shotgun Justice - Concussion 1991 - Open Hostility - Road Gunner 1997 - Decibels - The Game
Hardest Periphery song? Their known for rhythmically challenging riffs in their catalogue (Insomia, Zyglrox, Have A Blast, Chvrch Bvrner, Omega, 22 Faces ending chorus, Prayer Position bridge, etc.)
Austin A “Make Total Destroy” bridges and choruses are also really “brain-crushing”, I guess) But yeah - nothing beats Insomnia and Zyglrox, when it comes to complexity🤷🏻♂️
amazing work! i’d say that l’enfant sauvage is way too easy to be on this list next to songs like the link or in the forest or from the sky that have some pretty complex patterns and just constant tremolo picking and time changes, art of dying is definitely the hardest drum song because of the polyrhythms, but for endurance defiantly where dragons dwell or from the skies, mario said on instagram that where dragons dwell is one of the most painful things he has to go through physically becuase they extend it live and it’s like 13 minuets of double bass. But overall gojira = best band
The hardest gojira riff for me so far is the begging to This Emptiness right now, I've learned about 12 gojira songs so far and that song is the one I've had the most trouble getting the right timing lmao
Lots of suggests for other bands tracks but yes, your gojira riffs are well done , that is to say! Great tone and beautiful ibanez , maybe we will see another guitar in next vid?
For me, Heaviest Matter of the Universe is one of their easier songs. Pick-harmonic-slide-thingeys aside, it's not too crazy. I have a harder time with Backbone simply because of the stamina needed for the 2-string gallops for that duration
Yup. I can handle the 2 string gallops for the most part but getting any of the notes on the A string to ring out like they should is so goddamn hard for me.
That slight mistake in toxic garbage island where he plays the 3rd fret on the A string and open D string at the same time makes me a little mad. It's supposed to be the 4th fret A, open D. It's fine, still a great video!
Sylosis, to show them that dont need to drop tune to be heavy (anything bellow Drop A# is weird for me, is kinda hard to find a band that sound good using that low tuning, the low notes seems too quacky)
@@dehasim also Teras i believe it is by them has one of the sickest breakdowns ive ever heard.
